DIS Ladies Only Trip 2007 WISH!

Congradulations to all of you. :cool1:
just reading all the pages is helping me.
Two weeks ago I didn't think i could do it.
but I think i'm hitting the bottom.
So many of my work clothes that I've been wearing are not fitting now. :worried:

Plus with Valerie trying to lose weight, I going to try.

I don't excercise. In the Spring I can walk from the train station.
I'm going to eat what I want but in moderation and cut back on the carbs.
No more 5 slices of pizza on Friday night. :sad2:
I did it this way 3 years ago and lost 2 sizes but am about a size and half back up.

I'm going to buy a scale this weekend so I can get encouraged and discouraged at the same time.
I'm very happy with a slow weight loss. It's better then none!

thanks guys!:goodvibes

Joanne you can do it, I have faith in you :goodvibes

And thanks for posting EVERYONE,you don't know how much it has helped me. I'm so close to tears right now....I've been really doing awful, but today I'm going to get back on it for real. At lunch I'm going to pick up a jornal, writing down what I eat is the only way to keep me honest with myself and on track.

And I'm going to Curves when I get off work. I keep saying I'll go tomorrow, but then tomorrow comes and I feel tired I skip. My weight is going back up and my energy level is bottoming out, I've got to get back. Everything I've worked for through the first month and 1/2 of this year is all but gone, so I need to turn it around now. Thanks everyone!!

So I walk in and they have put more candy in the candy dish. Only this time its Hershey's dark chocolate with almonds. :worried:
Blech! Yuck! Gross!! Dark chocolate??? Nasty!! You don't want that. It tastes terrible. I bet they are spoiled too. Crawling with maggots. Barf! Yuck. Stay away. Have a yummy sub sandwich with lots of veges instead. :thumbsup2

(hey, I'm just tryin to help, lol)

Beth, I am sorry that you fell off the handle lastnight. :grouphug: After dinner lastnight I wanted to snack -really- badly.. Like Kelly I couldnt get food off my mind. I ended up falling asleep watching DH play his new PS2 game. So I lucked out lastnight.

Like Kelli, suggested I pop a piece of gum also when I get that urge.

I went for a power walk yesterday and then went to Curves this morning.

My goals for this week:

Work out 3 times (Already did two)
Only eat when I am hungry
Stop eating when I'm full
Pick healthier things to snack on
Wendy, sounds like you are doing great!!!

Congradulations to all of you. :cool1:

Oh, that's great Joanne!! I am so happy you decided to join us!! And yes, a slow weight loss is better than none. The time is passing anyways, might as well be losing weight along the way. Even at a half a pound a week, it will add up!!

WOOHOO - YOU CAN DO THIS JOANNE!!!

Hmmm, okay I'm going to try the tough love approach...... Don't read if you are feeling sensitive right now. :rolleyes1

(putting on best drill sergeant voice, really loud and angry, think of whatever war movie you last saw)

13.gif

Tears?????? What do you mean tears? I don't want to hear about tears. You better just pick yourself up out of this slump and get your act together. Do you hear me missy??? Can you hear what I am saying to you?? Answer me!!

(this is where you'd say "yes drill sergeant")

There is no room for tears here. Know why? I'll tell you why. Because you can do this. You are strong and tough and you can pull yourself up by your boot straps and get this done.

You will keep a journal and you will write in said journal. You will write down everything you eat as well as what you are feeling. The journal is your friend. Do you understand me??

Not only will you write in your journal, you will haul your butt to Curves! That is an order. There will be no excuses. We do not tolerate excuses on the DIS. Understand??
You have worked hard and you most certainly are not going to blow it now. When you want to quit are you going to quit?? Are you going to just give up????

(here you'd yell "no drill sergeant")

Are you???

(again "no drill sergeant")

Good. Because you can do this. I have faith in you and you will not make me look like a fool. You will use your journal and you will go to Curves. And in November when you see your friends at Walt Disney's World, you will be a skinny witch. And they will hate you as you prance around the POP pool in your new bikini with a Blue Goose in your hand!

Is that clear???

(and you say "yes drill sergeant")

Good! Now, drop and give me 20!!

Whoa, Beth.

But you forgot your whip. ;)

Tammy, I feel the same way. I am glad we can be here for each other.

Welcome Joanne. :goodvibes

The candy is not crawling with anything but I have done a fairly good job staying away from it today. (I had one...)

NOW THAT WAS GOOD! :thumbsup2

:lmao:

Beth, that was good!

Maybe we should just quote that post everyday to keep us going. :rotfl:

I'm hungry and this water is boring.
One more hour to lunch.

I did walk away from the Girl scout table at the bank on Saturday.
Normally i'd buy the peanut butter amd plain cookies.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

That's great Beth, I'm going to have to save that and read it every day!!!

Thanks so much, you are the best

BTW, I did get my journal and at first I thought I'd get one that I could stick in my purse to carry every where I went. But then I realized that's exactly where it would be, buried in the land of the lost that is my purse, not out in plain sight as a reminder of my goals. So I got the bigger one, it's about the size of a paperback book.

This week's goals:

Buy and keep a food journal (half way there)
GET TO CURVES
MORE WATER
NO PEEPS :rotfl: *starting today, I had some yesterday :sad2:

Beth, I absolutely loved that!!!! :teeth:

Wendy, sounds like you have some good goals for the week, I know you can do it!

Kat, I love the idea of 12 pound increments!

Joanne, glad to have you over here, you can do it!

Tammy, don't give up, just get back on it today. I am the queen of putting off exercise, I did go yesterday, so now you owe me a day where you have to go. Then if you go again, I will owe you a day at the gym....hey this could work out good.

Beth, I love the drill sergeant, that is what I need!

I am going out to lunch today with some friends, well one girl I know, and 1 I have only met once, but these are skinny girls who don't eat, so I should be okay.;)

Hey Jenna!

Being around skinny girls is always a good motivator. ;)

I'm going to make myself walk home today from the mall so I have my three out of the way. That's my exercise for now. I am trying to make a good schedule to hit our gym, at least a couple times a week.

I'm hungry and this water is boring.
One more hour to lunch.
Water can be boring. Try keeping some lemon with you to add to it. Or try the flavored water. Although I didn't care for it, you might like it. Also you can get those Crystal Light packets to go, and add those to a bottle of water to give it some taste.

Thanks so much, you are the best
No, we all are. And we all deserve the best. We all deserve to feel good about the way we look. And right now, I don't. So I am going to change that.
It might take awhile, and it won't be easy for any of us, but we can do it.

Now, don't think I'm crazy or anything but I used the "drill sergeant" when I was home with the twins a few weeks after they were born. Ruben was at work, I was home alone with four kids and just exhausted.

There was one day when I just was so over worked I sat on the bed and started to cry. I didn't think I could get up and care for myself let alone 2 small children and 2 newborns.

Then this voice just came into my head in a "drill sergeant" form. Kind of yelling at me saying if I didn't get up and take care of business no one would. Kind of like, "get up soldier, on your feet, move it, get busy and do what you gotta do."
Maybe it was some kind of weird post-partum thing but it worked. :rotfl:

(Now you think you are rooming with a total wacko!! :lmao: )

Anyways, I just remembered that and thought well, if it worked then maybe it will work now. Not to say we should all go around talking to ourselves. We might lose weight but we could end up on a psychiatrists couch!!

But just when the going gets tough, kind of step outside of yourself and give yourself a little pep talk in whatever way works for you.
For me, it's the drill sergeant. I just think of those movies where you see the men and women all lined up and the sergeant all up in their face yelling and being all tough.

I don't know about you, but that gets me moving!! LOL Anyways, as odd as it may sound we all have to find what will work for us and use it.

Now just don't be surprised when you see me in November and I've got split personalities! :rotfl:

LOL! Beth, I also have a "Drill Sergeant" voice in my head. It happens when I'm arguing with myself about something or when I'm pep talking myself. Copping mechinisms sure are intresting.... :teeth: So no you are not the only freaky lady here. :rolleyes1 I hope I dont end up with split personalities. LOL!

Wendy, sounds like you have some good goals for the week, I know you can do it!

Thanks Jenna... So far the goals are going okay. I did break down and have two little chocolate weight watchers snack cakes though.... I really only needed one...

Right now I am starving!!! I cant wait to eat dinner!!! I just have to have the will power to not over eat. :sad2:

Gonna make some sort of Chicken dinner tonight.

Wendy, I'm in the same boat. I am soooo hungry. I need to start eating lunch later or something. By the time this time of day comes, I'm starving. We probably won't have dinner til 6:00 tonight either. :(

Maybe you could have a piece of fruit? To help curve the hunger pains? I'm thinking about it myself.. I might have some yogurt. :confused3

Hi girls!
5.gif
I am just peeking in at you all! I think that you all are doing awesome! I had fun last year doing this...I just wish I had stuck with it!

Kat---If you don't mind if I post here to offer encouragement and recipes and such, I would really like to!:) I am on WW and I am learning new recipes and tips and stuff all the time that I would love to share!

Beth---Love the drill sargeant post! Very motivating!:rotfl:

Good luck everyone!!
