What started out as just a place to come and get some information has become an obsession. At first I was just jotting some things down in a notebook. Then I learned about planning journals and had to start one of those. Next I found the Creative DISigns forum and can't stop finding new things to make. I've got stuff picked out for a countdown chain, autograph books, t-shirts, and activity books for the cars.

Every time I find something new I get so excited. My husband is threatening to take away my computer. He things I am spending more time planning this trip than I did our wedding. I don't know about that. Does anyone else have a hubby that thinks they are insane for everything they are doing? Any suggestions on how to convince hubby that it is ok and will be worth it when everything is done?

My dh just laughs at me, we already have our countdown chain up, started it at 130 days, next to it is a calendar that the boys put a sticker to countdown. I have already started printing activities for the plane ride and downtime, have some ideas for tshirts, and am thinking about doing the autograph books.

My DH thinks I am a little overly neurotic with Disney:lmao:But he knew I was that way when he married me.:rolleyes1 Have fun and welcome to the madness.:banana:Penny

My husband fussed about all the time I spent planning and making things for our last trip but when it was over he thanked me for all I did to make the trip extra special. :goodvibes Welcome to the addiction!

well add me to this support group. My DH thinks that I'm completely nuts because I spend so much time on the disboards and planning. I start planning as soon as I make my ressies, which is anywhere from 10 months to a year. We have been quite a bit and I search for new and exciting things for my family to do. What gets to my DH even more is when someone asks me advice about disney and it ends up being an hour conversation plus numerous phone calls. What can I say, I need to be a travel agent for disney. LOL :rotfl2: I now have planning to do because I just made ressies for a suprise christmas trip. We will be staying at the contemporary resort with magic kingdom view. We will be there dec 23-29. It's going to be great to wake up christmas morning looking at Cinderella's castle.

Yep, I'm another one who has a DH that thought she had gone off the deep end. :rotfl2:

He was eating his words when we got so many compliments on the shirts, saw how the characters reacted when they had their own special autograph card, saw other families totally disorganized when it came to cs meal time and we had already figured out what to order before stepping foot into the restaurant, no digging for quarters and pennies when we came upon a pressed penny machine, etc.

After the trip is when he will realize you are :cool2:

Add me to the list! :flower3: I too am a planningaholic.

He'll understand after the trip, I promise! My DH threatened to take my computer away and enter me in rehab before our first trip. Afterward, he thanked me and showered me with lavish praise (maybe this is a little exaggerated, but its the way I choose to remember it).

Recently, he suggested I help our friends who are planning their first trip for october. After I showed her all of my planning and trip things, my husband insisted that I scared her to death and reminded me that only special people are ocd like me.

My dh and dd do joke around with how much time I spend planning our trips! But, they are totally aware of what awesome trips we have because of all of my "hard work" (I love the planning so I don't consider it work). The funny thing is that I'm secretly planning a June trip for the kids, but they don't suspect anything because it's totally normal for me to spend over a year planning, so they think I'm looking ahead for next year. Dd has my planning gene, so we have fun talking about everything together:cool1:

Now, I have relatives that completely think I've gone off the deep end, but since I know they will never get it, I've learned to ignore them. Until you have to plan such a detailed trip with four kids, don't complain!!!

I'm addicted to ideas from this board even when I'm not technically planning a trip, so it gets really bad when a trip really presents itself.
