**DIS Girly Weekend 2010** ~ IT'S OVER :(

On the Saturday, do you think that anybody will be going to the discount Shopping Village at Portsmouth as I went once and the shops were great, not sure what they are like now or how far it is from Southampton.

Remember they had a Hobbs that had brilliant shoes at fab prices.

I'm not sure how far away that is Tina but usually we just walk to whatever shops are within walking distance of where we're staying. The exception to that was the year we went to Cardiff and got taxis to the town as we were staying in Cardiff Bay, some distance form the town centre.

Having said all that, there's nothing to say that people wouldn't want to go to Portsmouth - how far away is it? Although, in my experience, very little shopping actually gets done on the Saturday - shops usually go out of the window in favour of lunch and the pub :rotfl:

Now that's what I'm talking about :) :) :)

I've officially booked my train to Southampton now :) feels more "real" :rotfl:

Can't wait!

I doubt it Tina, as Portsmouth is a good 20/30 minutes away. I like Gunwharf Quays too, but I think it will be a bit too out of our way ::yes::

Mind you, we haven't got lunch booked this time, as we'll be having breakfast at the hotel instead

I must let you all know about breakfast. It is a help yourself buffet, with full English breakfast items, fruit, cereals, breads, yoghurts and I'm sure there are meats and cheeses too (though I've not had these before)

Hopefully if we all fill up for brekkie, then we'll just need a coffee/cocktail/cake break during the afternoon :)

Nice one Beth :yay:

Sounds like a good breakfast Mandy. I like the idea of having a cake break mid afternoon.

I was listening to the oldies on the radio this morning, and it got me thinking, what music will get you on the dance floor at Flares and Reflex on our Girly Weekend

Now I don't want any cheeky comments, yes you Ms Longstaff and Ms Pnky - after your comments after my Hawaii 5 - 0 remark on Facebook yesterday :rotfl2::rotfl2: I'll be adding wheels to my zimmerframe so I can catch you and give you that clip round the lugs :rotfl::rotfl:

So here's a couple that I like

70's

Oops upside your head - The Gap Band
Shake your body down to the ground - The Jacksons
Don't stop til you get enough - Michael Jackson
Dancing Queen - Abba
Car wash - Rose Royce

80's

Tell it to my heart - Taylor Dayne
Word up - Cameo
I'm in the mood for dancing - Nolans
Holiday - Madonna
(I used to love the techno music too)

So tell us, what gets you strutting your stuff on the dance floor

I'm all about the 70's for this weekend, Mandy so I'll be looking forward to shaking my groove thing to:

Boogie Oogie Oogie - Taste of Honey
Le Freak - Chic
One Nation Under a Groove - Funkadelic
Now That We've Found Love - Third World
Get Down - Gene Chandler
Denis - Blondie
Tiger Feet - Mud

Definitely up for...
Dancing Queen - Abba
Car wash - Rose Royce
:thumbsup2

Honestly, the list could be endless...

If I DO make it to RRReflex, then I'd be more than happy to hear:

Gold - Spandau Ballet
Little Respect - Erasure
Rio - Duran Duran
Back to Life - Soul II Soul
Take On Me - AHa

OMG I just remembered Love & Pride - King... Loved that!!!
