The only time I ever go to a club/disco/bar of any kind is on the girly weekend - Mandy and Nat are a bad influence on me

There must be so many photos hidden in the loft somewhere....... and that's where they're staying. I went to Jersey 1981 for one season and stayed 10yrs and there was lots of partying. The 1980's were good for me.... lots of good memories.

Have a look at the Novotel site, Lesley and I kept trying and we managed to get a room for £69 some time after it said they were fully booked, they must have released some more.

I've just had a call from Flares and they are giving us free entry before 10pm, a party pack, bottle of bubbly and a private seating area ~ sounds great

Claire are you registered on the TGI website ? you may get a voucher for free cocktails

Right, I got this reply from TGI's

Dear Mandy

Thank you for your booking enquiry to Southampton regarding a booking for 13/08/2010 for 20 at 19:00.

Unfortunately we are no longer taking bookings from 5pm on a Fridays through to 5pm on a Sunday and are therefore unable to book your table. We shall be running a first come first seated policy over the weekends which we believe will reduce waiting times and improve speed of service. You are more than welcome to come down and wait for a table and make good use of our bar facilities while we try to accommodate you.

The thing is, is that TGI's is so close, it would be a shame not to go there. Now with us getting free admission at Flares by 10pm, my suggestion would be to try and eat around 7pm (especially as we wouldn't have eaten for most of the day with all our travelling), so I am more than willing to sacrifice a bit of time and go to TGI's around 6.30pm and request the 20 or so seats, then kill some time with a cocktail or two at the bar ... maybe one or two of you will join me - what do you think ?

Thanks for trying Mandy - I am easy and I really don't care whether we have to wait a little while for a table as long as I can ply myself (or have someone else ply me) with alcohol while we wait

Flares is a good 10 minutes walk (uphill), so is do-able, but after a few drinks, who knows

At the moment it's just a suggestion, I'll just wait to see what everyone else says - you know me, I just go with the flow
