**DIS Girly Weekend 2010** ~ IT'S OVER :(

Hiya,
getting so excited about it all now. And planning on doing my birthday celebrating a week early while we're there , do you want me to register with reflex/ flares to see if I can get some birthday freebies for us like bubbly/ queue jump?
Can't think of a better way to celebrate than with all my DIS girlies! X

I've just read through the last few pages since I have been away, does anything need amending from the above list ?

Right, I have emailed Flares and Reflex about their party packages and TGI Friday's too (they don't usually take bookings on Friday and Saturday evenings, and I don't want us to turn up and have to wait for free tables, I have asked if we can make deposits to get our table booked), so hopefully I'll hear from all of these over the next day or two

I have also sent Michelina and Rob a PM, and posted a message on Facebook to find anyone who lives in Southampton, to find out if there are any restaurants near Reflex for the Saturday night, otherwise we may need to think about Frankie & Benny's then get a taxi up to Reflex after. Hopefully someone will get back to me soon

I cant think of any restaurants up that end specifically.

However - there is a very nice chinese restaurant called pearl harbour which is on route so you could eat on the way maybe?

Ive eaten in there a couple of times with a small world and also with some work collegues. Each time we've been there, there has always been a good number of chinese people (which always makes me feel like it must be good) and ive only ever had a good meal there.

There are also some restaurants in bedford place but I'm not sure of any of those by name im afraid.

I just had a look at the Brasserie menu and there is really nothing on there that I would eat. The other restaurants look good though, especially the Tapas place.

I like the look of that Brasserie menu too, mind you I'm easy to please and will normally find something at any restaurant. The only thing is that I was trying to find somewhere close to Reflex, otherwise we will need to take taxis to the restaurant and then another to the club (not that I mind anyway)

Corinna, did you look at the 'full menu' option? I have just had a look and, considering I am probably the fussiest person going, even I anaged to find something I would eat on there - can't go wrong with steak and chips

Just wanted to add that, from a personal point of view, I would not be so keen on Chinese since I don't eat anything with sauce - however, if that was the general consensus of opinion, I like rice and prawn crackers so I'm sure I would be fine

I did. I don't eat fish/ seafood, lamb or duck. Really the only thing on there at all that I might eat is the steak, but I have yet to find a decent steak in this country.

Still , if everybody has set their heart on this, I will make do.

Haven't had chance to look how near they are as I have to go to work. I suppose another option would be eat near the hotel incase some people don't want to go clubbing and they can go back to hotel whilst others jump in taxis....... or am I being stupid because we're all going clubbing

That Cocorio menu looks quite good, if a little expensive. The only (possible) drawback is the requirement for a deposit of £10 per person.

lesley, not everyone goes clubbing every night. Last year, Nat, Claire and I went ot Reflex on the Saturday night while Karen, Mandy and Theresa had a couple of drinks at a bar near the hotel.

The year before, we all stuck together but we didn't go to any clubs - not that I consider reflex a club anyway - it's more like an 80's themed bar with loud music

There are lots of us going and chances are we amy not all want to do the same things every night (or even during the day) so we may well split into two (or more) groups.

Personally, I will be firmly in the Flares and Reflex group

thats weird about TGI's, ive always booked for Friday & Saturdays. I know they take bookings for big parties at Milton Keynes.

Meal wise im ok with pretty much anything. Although to me cost would be a factor. Im sure theres a few of us on a very tight budget, so nothing too expensive.xx

Hey Guys, it's great to see the thread buzzing as we get closer to our weekend away. Sorry I'm not going to be around much today, it's Kerry's presentation at college tonight, and guess who she roped in to help with the food ? so I'm up to my arms in tuna at the moment

Anyway, I'll check out those other links later, but just to let you know that Reflex have just rang and they have said that if we arrive around 9.30pm we can all get in free, after 10pm it's £4 each, but to try and be there before 11pm as it gets very busy. We will be met by a party planner and given bubbly and bits and bobs (I bagsy the glasses )

Hopefully I'll catch up later tonight and I'll let you know when I hear from Flares and TGI's

That sounds great Mandy - like the sound of the bubbly and bits and bobs at Reflex.

I will eat pretty much anything so don't mind where we eat - I guess a consideration will be the number of people we will need to bulk book for.

If you want me to ring any of them and see if they do larger parties Mandy let me know - although I won't get a chance till next week as we are off to Glastonbury tomorrow.
