I am not saying I want to take part in this, I just want to put my word in on "copying".
The Virtual Magic Kingdom is a free multiplayer game that serves a large community of players from all over the US, Canada, and Europe. There are about 3-4,000 players in the game at one time. If someone believes that creating something...a game; a gathering...is copying someone, then I think that shows a certain amount of selfishness (no offense to ANYONE, just putting that out there).
There is no such thing as player copyrights and therefore that technically leaves for no such thing as "copying". The Virtual Magic Kingdom, despite its promotional, marketing, aspect, is a replica of the real park;
Disneyland in CA. The real park is about the "magic" and the fellowship of visitors...if that magic and fellowship isn't had in VMK, this game is simply failing at its "enjoyable" purpose.
If people are going to bicker about who "copys" who...on a virtual game nonetheless...we certainly cannot call that a fellowship or even a happy community of players. If it comes down to verbal fights over "he/she copied me! That isn't fair!" Tell me how that is "magical".
How many of us really know the other players in vmk? I know after playing the game for a while, friendships are held that appear "real" and "true", but you have to remember that this is in fact nothing more than a virtual game filled with pixeled images and what not.
Can you go on to create something in this vast multiplayer game and expect to have your own game, room, gathering or whatever it may be, and expect that NO ONE else will create something near to it? Like I said before...if you answer yes to that question, I think that can be classified as a little bit selfish.
I do understand that people will want what they believe to be, their very own idea, to remain their very own idea...but it is almost nearly impossible with such a large amount of players who play this game and with every player there is imagination and ideas. It is bound to happen; ideas are bound to be replicated.
Also, who is to say a such "gathering" hasn't taken place before? No one can possibly know every player in vmk...so it is nearly impossible to be certain that something like this has happened before.
Sorry, this was a rather long rant.
This is of course just my opinion and I know some will disagree with me, I have simply seen too much of this "omg he/she copied me!" stuff, that I felt I needed to say this somewhere or I was about to explode!! lol.
Please, carry on with your regularly programmed thread...

lol.
