Halloween picture for Monday

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend! :goodvibes

Ophie has a great pic to share of the length of time for Toy Story Mania in the standby line. You will all bug out....

Glad you guys had a good trip! This comment is scaring me. So glad we get the dessert party there in Dec! :thumbsup2

Yep, Annie. My city has a yearly Halloween Parade, which is like freakin holiday around here. Literally, people have chairs lined up along Main St on Saturday morning (the parade is at 1:00 on Sunday). The past 3 years we have had a float in for school, but this year we didnt do one.

 What's happening to the DIS? I see red X's everywhere! Even the smiley's have red X's!!

CamColt - when we went to do the Toy Story ride in July we got there in the afternoon...we went on our first day...so it was after we ran into you guys at the AKV / AKL bus stop....all the fast passes were gone and the regular wait time said something like 50 or 60 minutes. So we grabbed fast passes for Rock & Roller Coaster and got in line. THEN right after we got in line one of those large Brazillian tour groups came back with their fast passes and gunked it all up....we ended up waiting about 120 minutes! At least. The fast pass system is not designed to work with LARGE groups using them. I should think if those large groups are not there you should be fine. I mean, nobody wants to wait on line for an hour, but that's certainly better than 2 hours!:thumbsup2

OK...so seriously...where is everybody?:rolleyes1

Maybe they are worried that you are seeing red X's. ;) I do hope everything is ok with all.

My goal is to ride it at least twice during the party. I wish we knew what the head count was for this event. I am curiuos to see what the line will be like. We have 2 hours, so....

Ok, I have a picture from the wedding. This is all my 2nd cousins (my sister is there too), with only 2 missing. And the one in the blue is actually the older generation (my Dad's cousin), but the rest of us are all from our generation. It was wild to have almost all of us there together....some we hardly ever see. There are 16 there, some are hiding. Do I look like I dont belong with that red hair with all those Italians? :lmao:

I haven't posted in a while, but I agree, where is everyone? :confused3 I had Katy today because school was out for a teacher work day. It was really chilly-mid 60's when I picked her up at the fire station at 7:30. By the time we got home, it was beginning to warm up. Too cool to go in the pool but we walked down to the beach and she took off her flip flops and got her feet wet. We found a big piece of coral, still attached to a rock 3 prongs and about 6 inches long. It was still alive because it was still soft. We put it in the sand bucket, brought it home and left it in the patio. I told Katy that since it was still alive, it would stink soon. When it drys out, it will be pretty and should have some color and won't stink. Now it is brown.:thumbsup2

:cold: COLD and WINDY here today... It's like 48 degrees and 45 mph winds...so the wind chill is like in the 30's. I have on 4 layers of clothes today!:rotfl: I am mad tho 'cuz it has blown over most of our Halloween decorations!! So much work to be re-done now! It's supposed to be like this thru tomorrow.:rolleyes1 I am making 15 bean soup in the crockpot today. Got one of those pre-cooked ham steaks and will make some cornbread for dinner.:thumbsup2 Yummm....

HEY - Gert!! I think it was you that gave me the recipe for the little cocktail weiners in that grape jelly & chili sauce... Embarrassed to say I haven't made them yet but am thinking about it for Fri. nite. How much does that make? About how many weiners are in a package?? Do you sometimes double it?:confused3 What would make like a crockpot full? Would you double the recipe?? ALSO thinking about making the little cocktail weiners wrapped in crescent rolls. Obviously, those are more work right? How many does that make? Is that like 60? How long does that take you to make?:confused3 The little BBQ weiners would be quicker & probably cheaper. Hummm?:confused3 Anybody else have any suggestions for quick & cheap snacks??? We always have this Halloween after party out front on the court. The kids eat their candy & watch movies in the driveway while the adults huddle with our "adult beverages" around a fire pit. We usually have about 10-12 families....so about 40 or 50 people. We will also have a veggie & fruit tray with dip....cheese cubes.......not sure what else.......everybody loves to snack.....and since Halloween is on a Fri. we will probably play late.

Hey Annie, another suggestion is frozen meatballs in the jelly and chili sauce. Those are yummy! I've never had the weiners. :thumbsup2

:lmao: I thought about the meatballs...but then I figured the little hot dogs would be cheaper! :rotfl2:

BTW - nice family pic! You look like you were having fun! I guess now that you point out the red hair it is a little ummm...different! How did that happen?:goodvibes :confused3

it is very cold here...we never hit 70 today and last night was in the low 50's with WIND!! brrrr..I woke up at 3am with the blinds banging from all the wind!

Tonight it is suppose to be colder!! BRRR!!

Oh Betsy!:rotfl2: You poor baby! You never hit 70! :lmao: You know how to fix the blowing blinds, right? CLOSE THE WINDOWS! It is 61 inside my house right now!! The wind chill here is in the 30's...with 45 mph winds there are trees and street lights going down...my flower pots all blew over...almost all of our Halloween decorations blew down / over / away!! Our lighted arch, spooky tree, lamp post, ghoul guy...our tombstones! My pirate skeleton was tied up with a piece of twine and the wind twisted it so bad it broke and came down...my ghost blew apart. Had to bring everything into the garage and now everything has to be re-done!!:headache:

:rotfl: I just found a new way to warm my hands!

Hugging the crockpot!:rotfl2:

(Temperature update. It is 61 on the first floor but only 57 upstairs in the bedrooms. Go figure. It is probably 65 or 66 in the basement tho! The hot spot! LOL....)

OK Annie, I'm going to be harsh here...PUT ON THE HEAT!!!!;) Yeah, kind of chilly here. In the 40s all day and raining, but the sun peeked out a bit this afternoon. Tomorrow morning with the wind chill is going to feel like the 20s! At least Halloween might hit 60! Heatwave!

Today we made an unscheduled tirp to the Pediatrician. UGH! Colt has some lumps in his neck. Everything they said sounded positive (good positive, not positive for anything bad), but Im waiting on the blood test results now. Did I mention I HATE waiting??? I guess the good thing is they said they would get us the info tonight, so it could be worse I guess.:sad2:

Oh and about the red hair, my Dad, the Italian one related to this side of the family actually used to have some red hairs in his moustache, and I do think I resemble him more than my Mom, so somehow I must have gotten the red hair from the Italian. LOL!

i'll have you know..it was 69 upstairs this morning!! for a florida girl, that is pretty darn cold!

NO heat YET!! My goal is to hold out for November before I start running up the bill!! We're so close! We're supposed to have one more really cold windy day then it is supposed to hit the 60's again for Fri & Sat, although cold at night of course. But I think we can do it!!:goodvibes

So what's the word about these lumps in Colts neck?:scared: Any word yet?? Could it be caused by drainage from a sinus infection or something? I hope he's OK....keep us posted!! Give him a hug from the peeps!

Been working on DS's costume this evening. I had been pondering how to do the armholes for a few days now. My first thought had been to put them on the sides...but I was nervous about cutting them and screwing them up. So then I started wondering how he would carry his candy - I decided he wouldn't be able to reach around to the front to hold the candy right. So I finally decided the holes should go in the front. Then I had to figure out WHERE to cut them. So since I had the head hole cut I had him put it on and sort of hold out his arms with his elbows bent so his hands were outstretched like he was holding the bag. LOL...I laid on the floor underneath with a flashlight and passed him a pencil and a tape measure so he could mark & measure about where his hands where so he could put an X for me. Then I settled on a 5" diameter and proceeded to measure everything in the kitchen for something that was exactly 5". The holes are only 3" apart so I think he'll be fine carrying the bag. Then I got the glue gun out and glued the recycling stuff on the top. Whew! Now I just have to hope that the stuff stays on thru all of his running on Friday! Crossing my fingers!

OK, WHERE is Phyllis!?

I Cannot tell a lie - Phyllis was a Disneyland yesterday when she called me to rub it in. But today?? Yo no se. Busy I'll betcha.

Annie - don't think that recipe was mine?? Does not sound familiar.:confused3 But I do remember someone posting it here. Group hallucination maybe??

RJ - are those your pumpkins!!?? Gotta carve ours soon I guess.

Been in the 80s here - don't know what you all are complaining about. Just move out here. Plenty of houses to be had pretty darned cheap!:thumbsup2

Um...Anne. Do you and Kate go out often and kill off innocent coral!? ;)

TZM - have spoken to two realtors. We seem to get somewhat conflicting information. But the mortgage disaster is really killing property values here. Since now the "comps" are bank owned or distressed prices unfortunately, those prices are dictating the market. The two estimates I have are about $70,000 apart. So??:confused3 I really need to wait to see if DH gets offered any type of relo assistance - then we can talk to our CPA and some other people and see whats what. Don't look forward to it however.

Ok off to fold more laundry and watch my Tivo'd Heroes!!
