We were doing water balloons here today too. Had a few kids from school over and the boys just all went wild. Is it Sept 4th yet?

Glad things are going well for the Croutons on their adventure. My niece leaves next weekend and I'm starting to get a bit sad. Shes only about an hour away, but I think I just cant believe she is that old. I can't imagine what this is like for parents.

And Im glad the rain has stopped inside at least, for you Bets.

So Cheri, I think I can finally agree running is not good for me. This morning I went out and a helicopter was flying around very low, about halfway through my run. I went home and put on the news just to find out there was a shooting in town and the suspect is on the loose...that helicopter was right over me!!! As it turns out the shooting was fairly close to where I run. I could have been abducted by this maniac on the run and held hostage!!! Ok, Im being dramatic, but I think its a good excuse to stop running.

Today is the first day without rain in a whole week Watched my Dolphins beat up on KC last night 24-0. Hope this carries through to regular season.

I can see where making the water balloons outside would eliminate the mess inside...but it seems like the hose thing would be harder? I am confused. Guess I will have to try it 'eh. My problem is the tying...I am not good at tying and that's when they get away from me! Everybody brought a bucket or two of balloons...but the people who hosted today's BBQ spent all day yesterday filling them...they had coolers full...like 2 packs of 250!! Plus what everybody else brought...it kept the kids busy for quite awhile!

One family just came home from 3 weeks on vacation in Italy and one dad had made a run up to PA to buy fireworks. (They are illegal in MD ya know so everybody goes to VA or PA to buy them). So we capped the evening off with some Lemoncello and a fireworks display to rival the National Mall (all the while waiting to see if the cops would show up)!

Hope to hear from RJ & Beano's trip tomorrow maybe?!

Welcome home RJ & Beano! OK, so the dorm room looked like a nice set-up...that's good. Much nicer than my old dorm room! Does he have a roommate? Did you meet them? Do his classes start today?! So how far of a drive is this for you guys? You must be beat! Will he fly it back & forth for holidays etc.?

School starts tomorrow here. It is usually on Monday so I don't know why this year they decided to start on a Tuesday. I am starting a new thing with DS...I have always gone in to get him up (along with the cats ). Woody especially LOVES to go in to get him up. Anyway, I decided to start setting an alarm clock for him. He's in middle school now...it's time, right? But it was a little weird this morning to not go in until after I knew the alarm had gone off...I set it for 6:15 for a practice run since tomorrow's the real deal. He just hit the snooze and rolled over! He needs to be ready by 7:25 and last week I got him up at 6:30 and he piddled too much with his breakfast and didn't make the deadline so I am bumping it up another 15 minutes. Piddle, piddle, piddle!

He was lucky enought to get a 2 person room, so it's just hiim and his roommate. His roommate is from Minnesota and seems nice. Classes start today at 8am...he jumps right in with physics for engineers, intro to computing for engineers and intro to engineering

The drive takes about 9 1/2 - 10 hrs. each way. Bob will fly home for Thanksgiving, but drive home for xmas since they get like close to a month off.

DD is home from school today - fever and sore throat. It's starting early this year! Throat looks pretty nasty so will call pediatrician when the office opens up.

everything is dry..crossing my fingers it stays that way with all this rain! I can't have someone come and caulk until it stops the daily rain..but nothing is coming in..as long as it doesn't blow it under the roof flashing..I am ok
