So while I have been fighting with my printer all evening over the whole scanning issue ya'll have been chit chatin' all the way onto page 2 of a whole new thread!! WOW! Betsy - Daryl showed me how I could scan our photos from Shutters & the Dolphin Swim into my computer...but the printer keeps conking out / freezing up and it takes FOR-EVER to do each one! I'll get there EVENTUALLY.

I knew we were getting close to being "locked" up but was hoping we'd get a few more pages in before.

(The ship the web site shows is def NOT the ship that was parked outside my room in Nassau - what would you do if you arrived at the port expecting a decent sized ship with a fabulous dining room and saw THAT????? )

Well, tonight I go to "observe" at a Tastefully Simple party. It is also being combined with another product that I'd never heard of called "Upper Case Living". Not sure if I am ready for this Direct Marketing thing or not...but feel I must give it a try. I doubt I can really make a living at it tho. I found out they ARE going to extend Unemployment for another 13 weeks - the website says I will receive more info. about it once my benefits are exhausted at the end of August.

OK, off to go spray those nasty moths that are eating up my plants again & job hunt a little...

Upper Case Living is kinda cool. Think big decals of words and sayings you can put on your walls or create a sign with. I bought some...oh...over a year ago. Yep still in the guest room closet. DOH. But moving up on the "to do" list!

Have fun killing moths. When we moved back to CA from PA our moving truck had to go through a gypsy moth inspection. Guess they don't want those hungry little buggers out here.

Okay, need to ask for pixie dust and a few good wishes (and a few prayers to the BIG GUY upstairs.) Steve's union may be going on strike Saturday night at Midnight. After the cruise we just took and vacation, and a college tuition bill due in 2 weeks, that is NOT something that we can have right now.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, say a prayer for us that the Union and Company come to some sort of agreement.
Unfortunately we have no say in it, so we just have to wait it out and see what happens. Sigh.... Sorry to be a downer.

I'm hoping and praying they don't go out. Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

You know, I knew the contract was coming up soon, but had totally forgotten about it with the cruise and friends and fun. Actually I wasn't too worried at all. (No worries Mon!)
Then we came home and he went back to work and voila--the news that the strike was looming and looks certain. Went from all smiles and from being on vacation with the Peeps to

BUT, I know it will all work out. No doom and gloom allowed. Maybe the good thoughts and prayers of the peeps will be enough to make the union and company realize they need to reach an agreement.

On another note, love the pic of the ghetto boat Beano. I looked at their website and how they describe that cruise. OMG! Their pictures looked MUCH, MUCH different than the boat I saw. I think the one we saw much have sunk to the bottom of the ocean and been pulled back out with all of that rust. HEY--they do have suites though

SE - Hugs to both you and Steve for a speedy end to this Union strike thing!! I hope it doesn't happen but will hope that if they DO strike in the end that it will improve things for you somehow.

So, I went to this Tastefully Simple / Upper Case Living party tonight. The Upper Case stuff wasn't for me but that Tastefully Simple stuff is so-o good. Yummm. I tried a couple things I'd never had before. The girl suggested that at this point I go ahead & wait 2 or 3 weeks to sign up as a consultant as their Fall / Winter products will be coming out soon. If I sign up NOW my starter kit would stick me with a bunch of the discontinued Spring / Summer stuff. I have my doubts about being able to make much at this...but we'll see. The girl who hosted tonights party is my old next door neighbor & she said she will have a party for me too (tonight she invited neighbors...for mine she will invite her church people). I have another friend from my old PT job who's already said she wants to do her party on Sept. 14 at 1:00...but that's the first Redskins home game...so I don't know about THAT one....LOL...that's tough competition in these parts!

OK, need to get ready for bed....night!

I think they just got Manny for the stretch run. He'll be gone somewhere else after this season. Joe Torre isn't gonna put up with his B.S. in the clubhouse.
But we'll take his bat for the rest of the season!
