yeah, I saw that. but you know I had to freak out first. Just wouldn't be me if'n I didn't. Now what could you possibly ship in a 12x12 box??? Hardly worth it seems like. Good thing they aren't limiting the number of carry ons. Gonna start having Cas pump some weights.

SHHHHH! Don't give them any ideas. ;)

Let's see... I have my normal carry on (which isn't as full now that I can't bring on my "dangerous" shampoo and conditioner and lotion) and Chris usually brings his computer (he's weird that way) then we have a HOOGE duffle bag that could fit a case of wine in it - of course, no one could actually carry it.

Oh geez - it's not like I've never done this before!

Think of it as a puzzle - you can get a LOT of little stuff in it! I swear you wouldn't believe how much stuff I can get into a shoebox when I pack 'em for my BIL when he goes to Iraq!! Get one from the post office & practice! You can pack your door signs (on the bottom or standing along one side), your fish extender (fold it or roll it up), trinkets to put IN the fish extenders, the over the door shoe thingy if you're one of those ppl (roll it up baby). What else. Ummm small costume accessories (jewels, belts, wigs etc). Incidental kids stuff that they may want. Do you take your own beach towels? I don't know. I just know that you CAN get more in it than you think. Pack it TIGHT!! Did you see that post from that one person who said they wear like movie quality costumes and they used to mail like 4 boxes?! THAT kind of crap is exactly why they don't want it going on any more!! I mean, seriously, who needs to bring a freaking hat that has such a big plume that it can't fit in a 12 x 12 box? Really. Oh, and the big boots he said don't fit. I'm sorry. They're gonna have to get over that one! I think that's nuts to get that carried away that you have to ship 4 big boxes of stuff for one night!

I am just relieved that we CAN still bring on beer & water & whatever as long as it's in a carry-on!!! THAT was what I was concerned about!:thumbsup2

:lmao:

I am cracking myself up thinking of what Annie can fit into a 12x12 box.

Ryan has this game - its a little SUV - with various shaped things you have to pack into the back - a cactus, guitar, suitcase, sink, etc.

I gotta get Annie this game.

:lmao:

Carry on alcohol. Check.

Get pumped up Cassie to carry it on. Check.

OK and CamColt - more expensive!? hehe cruise costs more than a cruiseIf the ship holds 4000 people shouldn't it be cheaper!? A girl can hope right?

Hey SueEllen - I snatched this for you out of someone else's siggie over on the DVC boards!:goodvibes

Jon-Signature-DIS.jpg

SWEET!! I have some really good pictures from the concert (in fact I'm sitting here in my Bon Jovi concert shirt tonight.) :goodvibes:

Cheri, can you tell it's been a long week? I cannot type apparently (or speak for that matter.) I spent the day today and yesterday handing out fundraiser packages to the students to take home (that's so much fun.) Between that and work I'm so far behind in things.--oh, and you make payment through DU for the cruise (which reminds me I have to make mine soon--eek--that and Uncle Sam wanting my money at the same time.)

I'm going to be dirt poor for a LONG time now.

Hi Everyone,

Is anyone else not getting email notifiers when someone post to the boards?

Yeah Top O Page

Sue Ellen,

Is there any particular reason why we wouldn't get cruise packages in the mail that lay out what the excursions and stuff are. We visited Betsy recently and she got one for each cruise. Ophie and I have not received one yet. :confused3

No notices coming in here. I got hit with a WHOLE string of them a few days ago - like 2 or 3 days of old ones all in a row. The other weird thing happening to me is that when I log on to this thread it takes me automatically to page 28. It won't bring me to the current page!:confused3

Annie has computer gremlins!!

Gotta go into the office today.:upsidedow Neils cousin and family are coming to see the wee babe at lunchtime. Wine tasting party at 7:30. Busy day but should be fun.

Tomorrow we head to the ranch for Easter weekend. Not sure if the girls and I will stay for a couple of days to visit. This is our Spring Break week coming up.

What's everyone else doing this weekend??

ok, I want to see you get a beach towel in a shoe box :lmao: and why in the world would I bring my own when Disney lets me use as many as I want AND washes them for me - that's the good part. No gross wet towels hanging around the room.

Yeah, I saw the post about "oh, we practicly reinact Pirates of Penzance" (kidding)... get real. The most we ever shipped was three boxes: one for all the Halloween stuff (40 candy bags and our costumes and room decos) and we had two cases of wine delivered. Not sure if I'll even bother.

Wasn't LOST good last night? Finally some answers that I could understand!!! (except - why would Sayid turn Michael in to the captain when they were a;ready warned not to trust said skipper? stoopid stoopid)

Question: does anyone ever shut the water off to their house before they leave on vacation? I was talking to the plumber last week and he mentioned it would be a good idea - especially since my water heater is 10 years old and I never flushed it out and it could go at any moment andIdon'trememberanyoneevertellingmeIhadtoemptyandrefillsaidwaterholder. I really realy hate the idea of some pipe breaking and coming home to a mess. A friend's house flooded but they were just at a soccer game so there wasn't too too much damage. Ideas, thoughts, Sean???

I could get a beach towel in a shoebox! (As long as it's a box from DH's shoes not mine!:rotfl2: ) I sometimes (read: always) pack our own towels if I know the towels where we're going aren't really BEACH size towels. I hate using puny bath towels for anything other than a bath! Makes me take 2 each. If I go on an excursion and I take 2 ea. then it's actually MORE to carry than one regular size beach towel. I don't take our BIGGEST plushest ones, but just ones that are bigger than BATH towels. (It's OK - call me anal!):rotfl: This year I am REALLY trying to cut back on the overpacking so I MAY skip them. I don't know. I'll decide when I start actually packing. Oh, BTW, are the towels provided ON CC or do you have to take them from the ship when you get off?

And I think that LOST has been great all season! They sure are killing off a bunch tho aren't they if only 6 survive!? I was surprised Sawyer doesn't make it. Does this mean that Michael won't make it back? He would technically be 7 survivors. Or do you think he's the one from that mysterious funeral that only Jack went to? What about Walt? Does he remain "hidden" with the Grandmother? (And I still think Sayid is HOT!:rotfl:) I don't know why he turns Michael in...but then he eventually ends up working for Ben so go figure?!:confused3

I was just looking up some stuff for DS and I to do downtown next week. Of course no adv. tickets left for the Washington Monument...have to be down there by like 7:30 to get in line for day of  I've heard the International Spy Museum is really good - but it's not part of the Smithsonian so there's admission to pay. While I was on the website I saw where you could have birthday parties there...so I checked that out since DS has a b-day in May I need to think about. I thought "Oh that would be cool..." HA!!! $1,500 minimum charge (covers up to 15 kids and 3 adults)! I was like NO WAY!! $1,500. They have a "mission" scavenger hunt blah, blah sounds very cool - but $1,500?! I couldn't believe that!:sad2: That's $83 pp!

Happy Friday Peeps!

No! I have heard of ppl unplugging like everything in the house before they leave tho. I leave our sprinkler system running on its regular schedule in the summer while we're gone too so that the lawn won't burn out.

I know I am also paranoid about the hot water heater thing! My parents always seem to lose theirs at around 10 yrs. and their basement gets flooded! We've been in our house 8 yrs. this month and I've already been out pricing them! I figure just go ahead & repl. it as preventative maintenance sometime next year!

TIM-MAY--they had you in Michigan for some unknown reason!!! Is is cold there where you are or something?!!
We cannot figure out how they got you from FL to MI, but I made sure they put you back in good 'ole sunny FL again.
I'm having them send out another pre-planning packet to you.

It's so strange that this happened because I know that originally they had your FL address, but they cannot see how or when the address changed (because no one called in to do the change.)

Thanks for letting me know.

SueEllen!!

HI!

I have a question rasied by another thread (thanks Annie!):thumbsup2

Say you are cruising in July 2008 and you want to cruise again in, oh say, December 2010. You favorite TA already has you in mind for 2010 as those dates/itineraries are not out yet - but since you are cruising in a few months can you book onboard for the DCL discount and keep moving the sail date forward to December 2010? (assuming they don't release Dec 2010 before you cruise)

Or is this a pain in the rear end for the TA? Is transferring the ressie to the TA easy?

Just wondering.;)

I'm tellin' ya we are cousins!:rotfl: I was thinking that if we could re-book one in July (provided of course that I am working again by then) and for simplicity, we'd leave it with DCL as long as possible for the duration of the "moving" thing THEN x-fer it to oh, say, SE over at DU once we finally have it where we want it...but I don't know... SE - what's easiest? And can we really keep moving it over & over? I really am thinking about using it for the NEW ships....but that's so far out....is that feasible?! OH, and just BTW, you DID get Katie & I added to the group dinner thing, right?!

TRM - have a safe trip up to this ranch of yours for Easter! I have been cooking my eggs today (some to color & some to pickle).:) Still need to put the basket together. Would u believe when I went to Target yest. I got the very last pkg of peeps?! They're green but at least they're peeps!

No decisions yet on what DS and I will do for fun next week. The Metro during rush hour (which seems like is most of the day) will cost DS and I a total of $20 in round trip Metro fares to go down to Chinatown/Gallery Place (if we go to the Spy Museum). That admission will cost the 2 of us $33. Then we ride over to the Smithsonian stop on the Mall and check out the cherry blossoms and maybe hit the Museum of Natural History or an Art Museum (all of the Smithsonian ones are free and the Museum of American History is closed now for renovation). I'm guessing lunch down there in one of the museum cafes will probably run $15-20. Oh, and parking at the Metro for the day is $4.75. So our "cheap date" will end up costing about $73!!:sad2: May have to skip the Spy Museum and save it for another time........Metro fare is almost 1/2 if we wait for 9:30 to go down & if we come back before 3:00. We could just do the cherry blossoms & a couple of "freebie museums". There's still some stuff at the Air & Space Museum down there that hasn't been moved out to Dulles...and I love the East Wing of the Art museum...I haven't been to the Hirshorn in a really long time....so I don't know...will decide NEXT WEEK when I get a better weather forcast!:goodvibes

I'd replace the heater (like the plumber suggested) but it's about $2000-3000 and between giving DCL and the government extremely large amounts of cash.... then again, compared to the above two entities, a new water heater wouldn't be that big a deal. :headache:

SE - I'd rather not give my CC# over the internet. There is a phone # to call listed on the web site, yes?
