can't buy beer or wine till noon on sunday..they had to change the law for new years 2 years ago when it fell on a Sat/sun night..so bars could continue to sell drinks at midnight:rotfl:

midnight? party stops at 2am here. I can't stay up that late but that's when some bars close. Of course, that's where the cops are parked at 2 am as well. Oh, I forget,.... southern states! In Utah you have to belong to a "bar club" to go drink somewhere. Of course, the membership fee is something like the cost of two beers. Imagine being on vacation and NOT being able to relax with a glass of wine after skiing all day. Not good for Cheri. Fortunately, Chris went a scouting and found local "club". but, then I had to go find Chris

Cheri: "brown" should be delivering evil cube puzzle back to you tomorrow (along with a couple added books for you & Cas)...sorry T..nuthin fer ya:confused3 :rotfl2:

Sorry, Annie, when you said liquor store I just had this image of you with a bottle in a brown paper bag. Nobody here even goes to a liquor store any more (that I know of) - too 'pensive - grocery stores are everywhere and much cheaper. And, you can buy da' hooch any time. What is with not being allowed to buy alkeehol on Sunday or only after certain times. Geez, jump into the 19th century already  - or maybe it's just us West coasters demand all-time access. Being the patient type you know.

:lmao: THAT'S ME!! Yup! Brown paper bags! We have to go to county run liquor stores for the hard stuff and they are not open on Sundays - we do have beer & wine stores tho. There is one grocery store that I know of that is licensed somehow to sell beer & wine. It is a little cheaper (maybe like $2 off a case of beer). I actually went there yesterday & stocked up on beer & wine 'cuz it's near where my interview was yesterday.

This myth was proven false this past weekend when we hung with the parental unit in Tampa. We were told by Winn Dixie that you could buy beer after 10AM. This may be a county by county thing but it helped us out this past weekend.

It just seems weird to me that they have those kind of restrictions in the first place.

Guess with my being a native Californian I just don't "git it"

OK, so who's goin' home tonight on AI?! I think it might be that little tiny girl...she's cute but she ain't cuttin' it for me. We like David Cook and / or Brooke White... I think Cook gets better every week...I still like Daughtry better, but Cook's alright Dawg!:goodvibes

Since we have to get up super early & hit the road in the morning I think I might go get my shower in a few minutes & get it over with. I know how dysfunctional my little family unit can be and to be out of the house by 7:00 I will have to get up by 5:30.:sad2:

I know, weird huh?

Cas is in the backyard with 3 classmates. They are practicing puttin gup a tent for Gold Rush Day. (Everyone has to dress like a pioneer or miner. All to go along with studying the Gold Rush and Spanish American War and California history and gunk like that.) Boy, 4 4th grade girls trying to figure something out. Alpha tiger 1, alpha tiger 2, meek girl 1, meek girl 2 - I wonder if that tent is ever going to stand :rotfl:

Chris says Christy Lee Cook has to stay "cuz she's the hottie" :sad2: men! Now I LOVE country music, but last night didn't do it for me at all. I'm not a Dolly fan. Not sure who goes home. All I know is that LOST isn't on afterward so there's no real reason to watch tv. I'll read with Cas instead.

Have a safe trip!

Yes...alcohol sales are a county by county law in Florida..Broward was 10am when I lived there...when I worked at Publix in 1986 you couldn't buy it at all on Sunday!

Ok, I have some alcohol laws that will blow your mind.

Up until a few years ago, packies (as we call liquore stores here) couldnt open at all on Sunday. We would have to make packy runs to NH when the need arose.

The city I live in cannot sell after midnight. So all the lounges close then. Yes, we can only have lounges in restaurants, no real stand alone bars. Back in my bar days we would stay local until about then, then head a few cities over, closer to Boston, where we could drink until 2:00.

Now the mother of all laws...and this was still in effect up until maybe 5-10 years ago. In my city you could not stand up with a drink in your hand....you know, you might fall or something. :lmao: Seriously, if you were at a restaurant, waiting for your table, if you did not have a seat at the bar area, you could not stand and have a drink while you waited. If you did get a seat and started a drink, and your table became available, you could not get up and carry your drink to your table. A waiter had to bring it for you. DH used to bartend in this city and he lost $$$ because of that law. He had to turn down many customers.

I don't know where it was but I remember being somewhere that the server had to carry the drink from the bar to the table. :confused3 I don't know where I was tho - but I DO know that it was not Boston!:)

Well, I spent the morning at the Dermatology Surgical Center and I now look like I have been in a fist fight-and lost.:scared: He assures me he got all the cancer on my cheek and I sure hope so anyway. I spent the day with an ice pack to the face and a bad headache. Thank goodness Katy is spending next week with me to give me some TLC:love:

Let me just say that I hate allergies...stuffy nose is the pits.

TZM and I are thinking we'll do it. Cheri seemed interested too. Anyone else? :thumbsup2

Timmy said he really wanted to do it. Chris wants to know if there will be Bud Light. (I'll take that as a "no" from him  ). We're going to brunch the 1st CC day so the 2nd CC day would be best for me. I don't think I could walk very fast or far after heep beeg bowl of whipped cream.

Wait a minute....Hold everything!!!! I thought the brunch was only offered on the second CC day, Wednesday? Have I been getting this wrong all along? :scared:

I could have it all bass ackwards. If that's the case. Just flip what I said around. As long as that walk thing isn't too early.

well..i lost my bathroom today...

The one owner refuses to share his bathroom with the other men so I get to share...isn't that so selfless of him??

i swear..it is a good thing he will be out of town tomorrow because I don't have ONE nice thing to say to him right now!!
