Upon my first visit here back in mid March....I applaud all of you for being so kind and patient with all the newbies!!
I actually chuckle now cause everyone comes here with the "is it right for me?" "what should I do?" questions...including me months ago!!

We still haven't purchased....However I did convinve DH to our trip next month.....He would rather by a resale contract with lower pts...dont want to finance....but wants to do the tour first.

As a non DVC member (not for long:) )......everyone please take your time and learn from the members!! Everyone has their personal opinions obviously, but the information here is invaluable.

Everyone has their personal opinions obviously, but the information here is invaluable.

That is what makes this board a valuable tool. You get responses from several people on their various experiences from their various perspectives. Try to imagine this site as a giant circle with DVC in the center. Around the edge of the circle are us members. From where each member stands, it is a different angle and viewpoint of the DVC. Thus, we may be similiar to the person next to us, yet we still have a slightly different view on the DVC. Our vaious backgrounds, family situations, vacation styles, likes, dislikes, etc. is a great resource. Don't be afraid to ask. Hopefully there is always someone who is near your spot on the circle who can give you their perspective and help you answer your questions.

I too am appreciative for all the information I have received from members.

There is only so much that one person can tell you, but when everyone gets together in a place like this, you learn a lot.

Thanks.

There is a wealth of info on this board, & it is fun gathering all this knowledge

I found when we were going through the buying process my guide, Judy, was awesome but yet there is only so much information she can supply. The DIS was like having access to a big DVC Manual. The owners here are invaluable and helped me greatly. Now I hope to share my experiences with others that may want to purchase. Great thread..:thumbsup2

One can certainly learn alot from others decisions, both right & wrong ones! This board seems to be full of folks willing to share the good the bad and the ugly. As long folks keep in mind that there are alot of oppionions and some work for the poster but may not work for you. I too have learned alot of great stuff from our neigbors. Everytime i spend a little time on the board I learn something new. I too would like to thank all those who post responses with good intention.

5 years ago, I wanted to purchase, but was too scared. Got the info from the board here, and now many happy years later, have both bought resale and direct, depending on my situation at the time.

You guys are the best!

They have some good folks with a lot of knowledge here.

Just make sure you review everything before you purchase.

DVC is not an investment, but an expense ( and well worth it IMHO).

I sooo totally agree! These boards have been so helpful...you all are a great source of information and advice!!

I agree. We just sealed the Fed Ex envelope tonight to send off our documents and I had to call QA today to go over my contract. When she asked if I had questions, I felt like saying, "No, I got all my answers on the Dis".

I agree, when I first started looking for information on DVC I was very confused. I came here and started reading posts and asking questions and before long I understood DVC and was able to explain it to DH. We should be closing on our resale any day now:cool1: :thanks:

Ditto to everyones responses. It is up to us newbies to enlighten others with our upcoming experiences such as the veterans have done for us.
