I am 5 MONTHS post surgery on my back (discectomy) and was doing fantastic. I spent yesterday at a horse show with my students and by the end of the day I had developed a pain in my lower back, only on the right side.
It's in the spot this person is covering with their hand (maybe a hair lower).:
I didn't do anything out of the ordinary lifting twisting etc. I wasn't riding. It was mostly me standing around. I have been to MANY shows since my surgery and never ended the day painful like this. I don't recall doing anything that would have "pulled a muscle" but I did give a few of the kids (small ones) a leg-up. And the trailer was about 18" off the ground and getting in and out of it a few times may have tweaked something...
BUT, the pain worsens when I breath in.
Is it possible that I am having kidney issues or something else? When I got home I was exhausted and after dinner took a nap. When I woke up I felt nauseous and super tired. This morning I am not nauseous or tired, but the pain is still there. Ice didn't help, but a Naproxen took the edge off.
I AM GOING TO GO TO THE DOCTOR TOMORROW...so don't freak out over me asking. Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts.
