DIS Divas Trip! (old thread, see first post for link to new one)

 Hi, ladies!

Aahh...I see...too bad...WDW is definitely easier from the Midwest. :-)

Yes, definitely is. :)

I'm from BC! :thumbsup2
I have been reading this thread and debating on taking my first solo trip as well! We leave in 10 days to DL for our last trip since our AP passes expire on May 15 :(
I'm not an outgoing person so its hard for me to meet up with a bunch of strangers for a vacation!
DH will prob think I am nuts! :rolleyes1
Hi and welcome to the group!!

Disney lovers are all a certain breed, and we can all relate to each other :crowded:
And that's how we look at Disneyland.... crowded. LOL

Will add to my prayers. Fur babies are extremely important to us. Ours are not considered just dogs they are part of our family. Big hugs.

Thank you Ruth! I'm still anxiously awaiting results.

My dog is my baby, too.

Thank you for understanding Cristabel. Some people don't get it. I am hoping I get results/options tomorrow.

Oooooh, spooky in here.... like a ghost town. ;) WTH? I haven't posted here in about 5 days and I come back to find us on the same page?? Come on ladies, did we all go get a life or something? :p

Lisa - any news on the job front for your husband? Hopefully he's getting offers that he loves and the hardest part will be choosing which wonderful job to take!

I keep forgetting to come over here. I keep up on the Diva thread in FB... Plus, you are about to see less of me until the end of July. Convention countdown is under way. 76 days, to be exact. It's madness, I tell you. Because it's Stampin Up's 25th anniversary, Convention this year is HUGE and sold out in under 2 weeks. Unfortunately, it's also made it a real pain in the butt for hosting our website's annual Meet & Greet. The hotel we usually use didn't have rooms available to let us offer a hotel block and without the rooms rented under our block, their event room is obscenely priced, so it was a mad scramble to find a place to host us. Capri, I so, so, SO appreciate all the work you go to getting us booked into a location for our M&G each year. Like you, we are all working with locations far from where we live which just adds to the mess. BLEH. FINALLY, we found a restaurant that is hosting us at a brunch buffet BEFORE THEY OPEN for the day! at about the same price as we paid per person last year for the hors dourves at the hotel. Take that, stupid hotel weasels! So, you can see where my energies have been focused. Besides, it keeps me from KILLING THE SPOUSE who still has had no luck on the job front. Ugh.

The firm in SF decided to hire from within. The consulting firm down in Pleasanton had both clients pass. We don't know if they hired on their own or didn't get the jobs they were bidding (a common occurrence). He has another interview in Sonoma on Monday for the consulting folks (new client) and a headhunter got him an interview with a firm in South SF. That will be a phone interview tomorrow. Money on that one is freakin AWESOME, but there is no way he wants to commute to South SF every day, so he'd either be looking at finding a room to rent down there or staying with family in Palo Alto a few nights a week. So, the search continues.

Add to it that the re-fi we've been working on since FEAKIN MARCH just hit a major snag last week. It's been a bazillion calls, faxes and emails, ending with a Hail Mary call to my financial advisor to sell some stuff in my IRA which we are hoping will clear my bank fast enough to make the payment we need to make this happen next Friday. Shoot me. There is not enough wine in my house. Truly.

So that's my fun. Oh, and Summer has arrived. It's been 90 degrees or so for most of the last week. Bleh. My tomato and herbs in the garden like it though. I wanna go to Disneyland, but I think the heat would kill me. LOL

Pike Place is an awesome outdoor market, it's just amazing. The "Very" French Bakery smells like heaven when you walk by, and Cafe Campagne is a lovely little place for wine and appetizers. Make sure they show you the gum wall, it's really gross, but funny.

When you take the Duck Tour you'll pass right by my office, if you go by between 3 and 3:15ish I'll be out on my afternoon break. I've been wanting to take a Duck Tour forever, but at Christmastime when it's all on land, they do a Christmas lights tour.

We loved Pike Place Market and the Duck tour. We also did the Underground tour. Gosh, that was 15 years ago... we went for our 5th anniversary and #20 is in 2 weeks! EEK! Somewhere, I have a photo of Russ, standing next to the brass "plaque" at the "First Starbucks Location" with a grin on his face a mile wide. Whatta goober.

Fun fact, that's not actually the first Starbucks. I think it was actually the 4th. But it is the earliest one that is still a Starbucks.

Hi ladies: posted this on Facebook but want to post it here too for those of you who are not on Facebutt.

Ms. Sally's husband, Charles, passed away earlier this morning. He had been ill for a month or so--a heart attack, followed by kidney failure and a series of strokes. I believe Dawn's daughter was with Sally at the time--Emily left El Paso a couple of days ago to go down and see them since her Grandfather was on hospice.

As I hear more I will let you all know.

We did all three of those tours and enjoyed them all. One of the tour guides did mention that the real first Starbucks is now some other business and yes it is the 4th. Jessica is all set to move when she finishes school in August .... can mama be far behind if that happens???? :rotfl2:

I wish I'd known. You could have joined us for breakfast tomorrow morning at Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris hotel. I'm meeting Tracey, Jane and Michele there.

Have a fun weekend!

Hello ladies, and Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I hope you all had a good weekend. It's been a nice one here. Warm, but not too terrible. Saturday morning I went to the Paris hotel and met Tracey, Jane and Michele for breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi. That was nice.
Then, that night we had family movie night and pizza. Watched "The Goonies" in preparation for our trip next month since we'll be stopping in Astoria.

Today was errands and now I'm doing some baking (red velvet cake balls) for Noelle to take into school. Tonight's dinner....tacos, of course. lol

Hope everyone is doing well! :goodvibes

Is there anyone looking for a roomie? Arriving Tuesday and leaving on Sunday?

Before I go ahead and book airfare I'd like to have a room secured with someone or someones!

As this would be my FIRST DIVA trip, i don't know anyone soooo is there anyone out there willing to take a chance on a CDN DIS DIVA? :cheer2:

I'm sure you'll find someone. We have a lot of new ladies who are also looking for roomies.

Super cute pic, by the way! I love that shirt. Chocolate brown and pink are two of my favorite combinations. In fact, one year, we did a shirt with that combo. I liked it a lot. Hmm... maybe we should do another chocolate brown and pink combo....

Happy Monday everyone! Have a great day.

Beth - since we've booked our room, I think it's safe to add Cindy/NorCalGal and I to the list of those attending in 2014! Or is it "new or returning that didn't attend in 2013"? At any rate, we'll be there. LOL
