DIS Divas, Take Two & Tyler....WooHoo!! COMPLETED!...OVER 1400 PICS!!

All lcaught up here now, Laurie! I had fallen behind and didn't realize Ty would be joining you on the trip! DS and I had a Mom & Son trip to WDW in 2008 (he was 12) and it was absolutely magical! Memories I will always hold special in my heart. Must be even more special for you as you have to spread yourself amongst all of the kiddos! One on one time at any age is a very good thing! :goodvibes

FWIW, I agree that the new promo was terrible. All the hype for really nothing. But then again, most folks aren't Disers and if the promo allows even a few people to experience the Disney Magic for the first time, then it is all good. I do admit that I would love to be there on the 29th! DS and I were in the Magic Kingdom til about 3am one trip and it was an absolute blast. Can't even imagine an all nighter!

I am on the same page as you. Very lame :headache:

Yuppers!

Well this trip in February has changed gears a few times......first it was just me, then it was me with the family joining me after the Diva trip, then I wasn't going, then it was going again & taking Ty. We're not making anymore changes.....the plane tickets have been bought! :rotfl:

Getting quality time with any of the kids (not counting the twins that take up 99% of my time) is difficult. I feel horrible for Addy & Anthony at times....so hard to find a balance when you have 2 with special needs in your family. I'm trying the best I can & cant' wait for all the kids to go back to DL!! They didn't get to go at all last year (2011) & I kinda feel guilty that I got to go twice. We're looking at taking them in December for Christmas time.....Mike really wants to go after seeing my pics & hearing about my trip. So I think that's when the family trip will be.

The locals are the ones that are being thanked by Disney with this promo.....at least that's how I see it. Maybe a small percentage of people will plan on vacationing at that time to get to do the 24 hr day, but the rest will be local or already had planned a trip for that time & will luck into it. Just would have liked seeing something that more people could have taken advantage of.

Not sure I would want to go during the "Special Promo Days". My guess it is going to be so busy during a usually slow time. I remeber how busy it was at WDW magic kingdom when they first started doing the after hours openings. It was a good deal at 10 dollars admit fee. Since we are west coast it made sense to do this as 1 am there is only 10 pm our reg. time. I only once seemingly got my hours to those of east coast time and that was when I took the midnight flight out of seattle to WDW. I swear there were more people there after hours then there were duing regular hours :(. I sure hope that is not the case with the promo. I know how busy it was when they had the POC red carpet-- it was miserable-- to many people. We had no idea the red carpet was going to be going when we were there, had I have known I would have changed dates for visit.

I agree, I didn't really want the promo day.....I was disappointed the one 24 hr day was what they were promoting & not some yearly theme with special deals like they've done in the past. I just figured they'd be open on Feb 29th for 24 hrs & that would be the kick off for their promo. I had no clue that WAS their promo.....big whoop! Oh well!!!!!

Well someone called about Fantasmic & was told it was down from January 9th thru March 2nd.......bummer!!!! No Fantasmic this trip......again! :headache:

The two trips I had last year, I didn't get to see it. On the Diva trip we had our dessert seating paid for & the night of the show, the Columbia Sailing Ship had issues with the tracking & so it was cancelled. It stayed cancelled after the Diva weekend & during the entire time I was there with Mike for our anniversary trip.

I didn't want to take the time during my whirlwind Christmas trip to see it (and I'm not sure it was running either).

So bummed it will be closed during this Diva trip......but I guess I just saved myself some money!!! :rotfl:

I didn't manage to see it last trip and well we know I won't see it this trip either. Oh well as you say money saved.

The information came from a CM when someone called to make a reservation for the Dessert Seating. Not to say it's 100%, as we all know, information can be wrong at times.....but this being a slower time of year.....it makes sense for them to do some clean up, touch up, refurb during this time. Seems to me, this is the time of year they typically do that....so I wasn't super surprised by that. Glad we planned on doing the dining package for WoC!!

Well, it is down while we are there. The second day of our trip got posted on the Disneyland website and so far it is down. The Columbia is being rehabbed. So no big deal. We have no plans to see WoC this trip either. Funny but the main thing for us is the time away just the two of us.

And that's not a bad thing!!! I'm glad you're getting some "alone" time. It's important to reconnect as a couple without the help of kids around!!

Oh no kidding. They drive me nuts some days.

That's sad about Fantasmic :sad2: My sister wants to do the thing on the 29th but it's a school day. I will not be going since I have school.

Fantasmic is such a good show....it is a bummer it will be down.....but it won't ruin our trip!

The 24 hr day is going to be chaos....my best guess!!! From all the die-hards that have to be there to "DO" the 24 hr day & the locals....I bet the park goes to capacity.....which too me would not be fun! I also guess there will be a lot of local kids that miss school for this. We'll be there 2 days before that madness & I'm glad we WON'T be involved in it!! :rotfl:

I booked & pre-paid our motel for the trip!!! WOO HOO!!! :cool1: We will be staying at the Ramada Inn Maingate!!! I got a good deal by prepaying.....25% off.....so we're staying in a premium room (nicer/newer furnishings, flat screen tv & view of fireworks) for the 4 nights for $470!! I was thrilled........now I just need to get Ty his parkhopper. Going this route actually saved me over $200 vs a package.

So now the flight & the motel are non-refundable....guess that means we're definitely going.....NO MATTER WHAT!! :rotfl2:

Darn!! Now you have to go!!:lmao:

So let me see, all I have to do is get a great pre-paid hotel room at a nice resort that includes a disney view and has been updated. Book airfare at a non refundable price. I have the annual pass -- a prem one to boot. Then I have to go to DL. Hummmmmmmmm pondering -- ya I think I can do that -- Oh heck I have done that before many of times. You are so cute Laurie. You could be my long lost daughter. There are times you scare me we think so much alike.

I am hoping my portion of oil well money is enough to take Daughter, Son-in-law, and grand kids to DL again. It is so hard traveling right now with DH needing hospital bed and extra care, but the disney resorts took such good care of us last visit no way I can leave him home now LOL nor would I.

I hope it is a good hunk of money -- but who knows.

Any how I am following along -- just like a wannabee DL planner.

:) Patty
