DIS Divas, Take Two & Tyler....WooHoo!! COMPLETED!...OVER 1400 PICS!!

Well at least you got that over with, so tomorrow should be better!!

We have a new principal and the new adminsitration came up with all of these rules. Thanks to them, everyone had a bad first day, including me. On the bright side, we all got shirts.

Well I really need to get planning on the name tags & snack bags for the Meet & Greet party. We're going with a ToT feel with villians as a theme. Most self-stick tags are white & I'm thinking they need to be more "dark" to fit the theme. I know I can get scrapbooking stickers to add them to give them more of the feel for the party....but having trouble visualizing what I'm gonna do.

The bags this last time I hand stenciled 40 of them.....don't think I want to do that again. It ended up being a huge project that I had a hard time finding time to do. So I'm thinking black bags or maybe after Halloween I can find a good deal on villian gift bags.

I also will need to come up with containers for all the snacks. We had a few bowls/trays/popcorn containers but I improvised with brown lunch sacks & frayed the tops to look like grass skirts. Not sure what I'll do this time......need something cheap like last time.

This is what I came up with last time. So any crafty people out there have any suggestions they would be welcomed!!!

Just hoping in. Love your TR by the way. I would wait and see what is left after halloween. You can find all kinds of bowls/trays then.

:cool1: Welcome!! :cool1: I'm hoping to find some deals after Halloween....but the containers have to be small so I can carry them in my suitcase on the plane. That's why the bags worked out perfectly!!

maybe some small buckets or pails. I know my target had some last year that were decorated with felt in the dollar area. Maybe you can use some of the lantern bags. The ones that look like lunch bags but you can use them with a candle to light a pathway. Or even decorate lunch bags with Halloween stickers.

Oh great idea on the luminary bags!!!! I'll keep my eyes peeled for those!!

Hi, Laurie maybe some of those cube's that are made of strong plastic or of water proof material looking stuff. What an explanation so sorry. I know they fold so could be easy to transport to DL. I know Lowes seems to always have some on sale. True they are the weird colored ones, but those might work perfect.

I second the idea of stickers. I wonder if you could supply pens, pencils, stickers, and any other items that could be used to decorate their own bag. Even have it be a contest for like funniest, darkest, scariest just anything fun. Could even provide bags and a few supplies to see how everyone decorates theirs. Then have the committee judge them.

I am sure it will be great like last years.

I have a thought, if you want to use bowls or containers and it is too much to carry I may have a solution. What about shipping the supplies to the hotel? Arrange with them letting them know you are shipping a box to yourself. I am sure they will work with you.

Collapsable cubes would work & so would shipping stuff down.....usually I try to let the ones in the area bring stuff for me to use....but last time we needed a ton more...so that's where the bags came in handy. It was kinda a last minute fix. Just trying to plan ahead.

Keep the good ideas coming!!!!

I'm not sure how many bags you need, but how about checking out the bags @ Oriental Trading? It looks like most come by the dozen, and in a few different sizes. I've used black bags for a pirate birthday party, and it looks like they also have some bags with handles and a cool black/white stripes bag (reminds me of Jack Skellington!) Colors might be nice, too, like red or purple for villains. ;)

How are the kids enjoying their last week of summer vacation?

They're ready to go back.....we've been watching Disney movies & past trip slideshows we put on DVD. They're disappointed that we're not leaving in 28 days for the October trip as planned, but February will get her before we know it.

Trying to switch gears to plan for the off-season.....Halloween time would have been really busy, but end of February should be pretty quiet. Still planning on doing all the character meals, maybe doing the Fantasmic Dessert Seating (if it's showing) & taking in all the entertainment we can.

Part of the reason we pulled out our old trips to watch.....was so we could relive them & get excited about our upcoming trip.....even if it is a little ways off!

I understand. My annual pass is going to expire this month.

I hate to say it.....but I think I better call Disney Dining and cancel all our ressies for the October trip....... :sad2::sad1: I keep putting it off....but I'm 99% sure we won't see the money in time & the way we're drowning in bills.....I don't really feel like vacationing anyways. Good news is: 167 Days to go for our February Trip!!! :cool1: (that seems like a lot of days......)

I feel your pain. We cancelled the Nov trip because of everything going on. I was GOING to try and still go with the girls but I just can't afford it right now. Eventhough everything was pretty much paid for I just didn't feel right going and Shane had paid for the hotel and wanted his money back so I got stuck with 4 credits on airfare that I may not even be able to use now :(

I don't think I will get back now till Jan of 13 :( There is no way I can go before that because of finances and also IF I ever get a job I probably won't be able to take any time off!

At least you have feb to look forward to!! You guys will have a great time! I don't know WHAT I am going to do waiting more than a year LOL. Have never gone that long with going anywhere. ;)

I am sorry Laurie :(. I would wait as long as you can to cancel, you never know what can happen.

The nice thing is with the kids in school during day you are going to have a lot of time to plan this trip. I worry about the passes in winter but I suppose you could do what we did one year -- took the coast down till after pass. We did have snow on the pass to get over to 101 but not nearly as bad as the pass would have been. We had the motor home so always goes a bit slower.

Kelly , I feel your pain. I had the money but was not well enough to travel :(. I did finally go this last May. I wanted to take the kids and grand kids for the selfish reason that I could watch them have their first trip to DL. I will never regret spending way to much for the trip. My husband had a great time toting the grand kids on his ECV.

Also, Kelly I think you have a year to rebook with the credits but not sure. You can book those out as far as schedule is done. I did this with Alaska a few years ago. Ended up being almost 1 year 7 months after I originally booked the original flight. I hope they still do that :).

Good luck to both of you :).

I saw on FB that you were cancelling your trip......so hard to do that!! At least I had the Girls Trip to fall back on.....otherwise I would have been devistated!!

We used to live down in Medford & know that pass all too well. We'll play it by ear & watch the weather forecasts when the trip gets closer.

They had a good day!!!

So I didn't get to canceling the dining ressies.....Michayla scared the life out of me this afternoon. She was upstairs in her room for nap, she was a little fussy (after being up there for a while)......not really crying, just the normal I'm bored fussy sound. Ty, lacking sleep, decided to just go up & get her because it was bugging him listening to it on the monitor. Next thing I hear is him screaming for me to get upstairs. I walked into the bedroom & Kayla was lying on her bed in a huge pool of blood. She was covered from head to toe in blood. I was freaking out, telling Ty to call 9-1-1. By the time the ambulance arrived, I had found the source.....she broke the window & her hand went out the window, slicing her index finger. I knew fingers could bleed.....but this was an amazing amount of blood & who knows how long she had been lying there. She doesn't react to pain, so she wasn't crying or indicating there was a problem. If Ty hadn't have gone up, I shiver at the thoughts of what could have happened. It's not uncommon for her to fuss up to an hour. Its not crying, its just her way of making noise & she does this quite often when tired. Today.....Tyler was my hero!!!

So tomorrow......I'll make that call......I think...... :rolleyes1
