Good morning beautiful Divas!!

It's the first day of Fall! Not that you'd know it here. This is the time of year I really miss living in Michigan. The cool, crisp air. The leaves turning brilliant shades of gold, red and orange. All the houses decorated with bales of hay, pumpkins and scarecrows. Drinking cider and going to the pumpkin patch. Ahhhh, I miss it!!

But, then shortly after that winter sets in with it freezing temps, snow and ice. THAT part I do not miss at all. lol


Hannah and I made monkey bread for breakfast and soon Ruben and I will be heading off to the Greek festival.

Pam, sorry to hear about all those fires. Scary stuff. I hope some rain falls soon to help those firefighters out!

Katie, I'm glad you got your time extended to 30 days. And, I'm glad that you and Cliff are weathering this trying time. Moving can be stressful! Hang in there.

I went shopping this afternoon and sent of my Halloween package. - I posted over on the Halloween thread. Honestly, I was worried about getting this done, because I tend to procrastinate a lot . I mean I'm finally getting out thank you notes from my mom's memorial - which was almost a month ago. Those are done too, so it has been a productive day. Plus, I had DH with me today and I know he just loved going to places like World Market and the craft store with me. BTW, craft stores are not a good place for me to be roaming around because I am too tempted to buy there.

Hi gals--sorry I've been awol. Some of you know--but for those who don't--I started having back issues in late Aug. Early Sept. It kept getting worse to the point I couldn't walk~! Since Sept 11 I have been using an electronic wheelchair around the house, and a regular wheelchair for the few times I've been out--all for doctor's appts. My friend Brandy and her boyfriend took me to the emergency room twice I was in so much pain. I had an MRI and I am taking a series of three epidurals, my next one is next Wednesday--also the last. It has lessened the pain quite a bit but I am still on some medication. After that I will be taking some in-home therapy to learn how to walk again. Assuming I can--keep your fingers crossed! It has brought home to me how inaccessible my house really is. The counters are high--I can't reach very far into cupboards or the refrigerator, etc. I had a meltdown this morning when I couldn't reach the cottage cheese. We had an aide here nights for about a week, but now it is just my Mom who came to stay with me--thank God. Friends have also helped-=-Linda, Amy and Stacerita came with meals for us last weekend and Linda is here today too--she and my Mom are grocery shopping right now. Brandy has been taking me to medical appts. along with my neighbor Art. It has been a trying time. Thank God for good friends and family. Luckily I've been able to work from home since I'm set-up to log into my computer from here. I had to miss a mini Diva trip weekend before last and am hoping to be up and around in time for the Oct. trip (keep your fingers crossed). I did cancel our trip to Hawaii (and Aulani)--there is just no way I will be up for such a big trip by the end of next month. I am shooting for next Spring now. So, that's why I haven't been around much!

Hi, January! I'll be at Disneyland, but not until next week. Wish you were going! It would be nice to see you again. I remember when we met up and you had Maddie with you. She and Stitch had so much fun at the breakfast.

Ahhhh---Maddie must be in school and a big girl now--post a pic!

The Fantasmic Dessert did get cancelled last trip. Anyone interested in doing it this trip? I haven't done it yet and was sorry it got cancelled last time.

I would be interested in the Fantasmic Dessert too.

I also almost ruined my relationship last night because I panicked and had a momentary lapse of judgement. The good thing is Cliff was able to handle my craziness and we are still together LOL.

I hope the WA fires are under control quickly and the smoke and ash subsides. That is awful.

Wow sorry to hear this. My mom has been going through this too. She had the epidural shots too. It helped but she still has issues and can't stay up for too long. I will keep you in my prayers for a quick recovery.

Katie, I hope your move goes ok. It sucks I know been there. I am glad all is working out though. You will be in my prayers too.

So jealous of all of you getting to go to Disney for Halloween. The last time we went was the time we met the divas in 09. I sure miss it and although I am SUPER excited to celebrate Katy's birthday there this Dec I am really wanting to go back at Halloween so we are hoping to go next year. I wasn't sure if we would be able to with football but based on THIS year it appears their last game is around the 20th of Oct and barring them making playoffs (which this year I can pretty much guarantee they won't) then we should be able to go the last week of Oct. So I am really hoping that works out!

Crazy busy here. I've been a "single mom" this week, which is a lot harder than I expected with a 16-year-old. I still have my business and work at home, plus a few shifts at the hospital, Jesse has school, basketball on Monday and Friday, plus football Tues, Weds, Thurs and game on Sunday, plus grad activities and tailgate for football on Saturday........ and I have to cook and get groceries and get ready for my trip too Seriously, huge kudos for you all who do this every day. It's got me whipped, that's for dang sure. I needs to find me an assistant!

Hello, ladies! Happy Sunday!! This weekend flew by. But, it was fun. The baklava at the Greek Festival yesterday was delish!! I wish I knew how to make it. Today he was supposed to work overtime but that fell through. Bummer on the money factor, but happy to have him home, so we've just been chillin'.

I am so glad you have your Mom there to help you, as well as such good friends. If I was closer, I'd be happy to help you out! I could cook, clean and bake you something yummy. lol

As for scary movies, I don't do gore either, but to me there is a difference between scary and gory. I love a good scary movie. But, it seems the current trend is towards gore. I don't like that. Watching someone's foot cut off doesn't scare me but it is gross! lol

Well Ladies, the weekend is over... I worked some nice OT over the last couple of days so that should at least help keep my October DL trip under control.... or something! The boys are back home with me tonight (they stay with me during the school week and with my ex on weekends)... and every day at work I am reminded how lucky I am that my divorce went as smoothly as it did and that I don't have to deal with some of the situations I hear about every day.

Tomorrow is my only day off this weekend so I shall spend it grocery shopping and running other marvelous errands. Perhaps I shall begin my quest for lime green and gray shirts!

I am trying to recruit some of my friends to come with me in February but we all work in a 24/7 operation (police dispatching) so it's tough for us to get time off together. But I will work on it! The more the merrier, right?

Hoping to get better sleep than I did last night... went to be around 1130, woke up at 230, and didn't fall back asleep until 6! Grrrr. That's what working graveyard shift will do I guess.

Trudi I always waited on my halloween stuff too but I bought a cute flag at the Disney store and a couple other trinkets and I didn't want to put them "up" so I just said to heck with it. After all who really cares. And it's fun to look at.

Cheryl I am sorry to hear what you are going through! You are A trooper to keep such a positive attitude. I have been suffering from pain in my shoulders for years. Finally went to dr and am doing something about it, but geesh it makes me grumpy to be in pain all the time and not get sleep. I can't imagine having my mobility effected in addition! Praying for a speedy recovery for you!


So the picture that I posted the other day was for a house that we offered to buy. Well we did get to mutual agreement and are now in inspection process. I am really excited as this is over an acre with a view and sportscourt and Rv parking and extensive decking and outdoor entertainment area. The house is big but built in 1979. This is a big stretch for. Is financially so we are really counting on the immediately repair list being short. Kif not and if we can't get seller to repair, then wevwill be out.

So wish me luck.
