Congrats on the new granddaughter! I can't wait to have them... well, I can wait until it's the right time, but really, I can't wait!!

She did a semester abroad 3 years ago, I think. It was really hard having her gone but she was so excited to do it and loved it! I think it's harder if they go to a more under-developed location, and Surfer's Paradise is NOT under-developed!! I would live there if I could!!! So would DH, he would be a beach bum in another life!

Anyways, we know she'll be fine, but I think the hardest part is that we can't do anything for them, especially if something happens. I remember when I first moved to Phoenix (from Michigan) all by myself, I was 24 and had never lived away from home. A couple of months after moving I got strep throat and my mom wasn't here to take care of me, like she always did at home! What an eye opener!! I try to do lots for my kids but I know they need to be able to take care of themselves now, considering they're 23, 21 and 17. A lot of you have heard the stories about Zachary (the 21 year old), he's a very laid back, happy guy, but sometimes makes some bad choices... (I do have another story to tell you all when I see you in a couple of weeks) but he's an adult and those choices are his and not mine and I have to remember that. But it's hard, you just want to fix everything!! But that's why we're good moms!!! :grouphug:

I forgot how long Christine was gone. A semester seems like a lifetime, when they are so far away.

Anywhos, I have also heard that Surfers Paradise is absolutely beautiful. She will only be there the first 3 months. After that, she will go out into the field. Which means it will be somewhere isolated and probably 3rd world. One of the girls she talked to, went into an area that had no phones at all. So for 2 months, the family did not hear from her. That is what I fear. The not knowing. But that doesn't happen to everyone who goes there. They are given choices of where to serve. She could to to Thailand, Papa New Guinea, The Outback and so on. It all depends.

Bridget, I got good chuckle of the "bed inspector." LOL! :rotfl:

Kerri, Have fun at the faire! I love them!

Thanks everyone for the congrats on my beautiful baby granddaughter! She is precious, more than silver or gold!:cloud9:

Lisa~ Sorry to hear about your DH - I hope he finds something soon.

Mel~ Congrats!!! Post some pics!

Bridget~ I hope your "bed inspector" is a hot Hawaiian guy...:beach:

Good morning, ladies! TGIF!! :cool1:

Last night Ruben surprised me by taking me out for a date night. We try to do those fairly often, but usually not on a random Thursday. LOL Anyway, we went mini golfing! I haven't done that in ages. Possibly since high school. It was a lot of fun. I lost, darn it, but not by much. Then, we went to Johnny Rockets for burgers. It was simple, but really nice. :goodvibes

This morning I took Ruben to work so I'd have the van. Adam's got an eye appt. later today. Yay! More doctors. :crazy2: But, at least this time it's not for me. :p Once I finish up my house work, I might take advantage of having a vehicle and run out to the store. I want to shop for my Halloween exchange! :hyper:

Anyway, hope you are all doing well. Have a great Friday!

Beth how fun! That is so nice to get a surprise and it's nice that you guys are able to have date nights. That is so important! Golf is fun. We have Monster Golf here which is glow in the dark golf and it is pretty fun. Of course we like the regular kind too. ;)

Have fun shopping!

I've already been to the post office to deliver my exchange package and then to fedex to ship my broken phone back to Verizon and now I'm at work.

I posted on facebook but have to brag here too. My girls got their progress reports and Katy got all A's with 3 A+ and Shelby got all A's and 1 B+. So I'm very proud of them. It's my weekend with them so probably going to take them out to eat some place fun.

Hope everyone has a good Friday and a great weekend. :)

No, I thought you were going to post pics of just your outfit. I know you haven't gone yet, silly. :rotfl: But, okay, I'll wait for pics of you in it. :thumbsup2 Have fun at the faire!

LOL oh.....sorry, it's 3 pieces and sort of hard to do photos without it being on me. :rotfl: I did figure out how I'm doing my hair though, I'm going to do a half pony and braid that part, maybe with a ribbon, I haven't decided yet. Then the part that's still long I'm going to braid into 2 braids then loop them up on the opposite side with the half pony, then I'll wrap the half pony around itself and make it into a bun. I also made myself a piece of hair jewelry to wear, not sure I'll actually wear it but I made it. Now I just wish I had a little drawstring purse to use. I should go to the fabric store and see if I can find some red velvet and make myself one. ;)

Excited for the concert tonight! And excited for Sunday, it should be a good weekend!

I concur. You do need a vacation! :thumbsup2

5 weeks to Diva Mini Meet! Woo hoo!

Mel - congrats on the new granddaughter!

I'm going to see Finding Nemo with a couple of friends in a while. Yay!

Hi gals,
Following along but hard to stop and post. I do everything super speed these days since every day is cram packed to the gills. Maybe if I get my nails done soon I will be able to type fast again so responding won't be so hard.
Anyhow, all the above plus yeah Beth for date night!
Off to soccer!

So yesterday I found out, that the guy who I have been going to for T-shirts sold the business. :sad2: I hope the new owners are just as nice, and as reasonable. ::yes::

Hey Kerri, where is your Ren Faire at? Is it one of the bigger ones that go on for months, like the one in So California?
We tried to get to that one this year, but it just didn't work out. I've only been to it once, and it was super cool.

Otherwise we have a nice local one, that we try to go to. princess: The grandsons are just to the right age to enjoy them. :thumbsup2

Uh oh. I've got a guy here that I use for my shirts, aprons, etc. I can get a quote from him, if you'd like.

Also, congrats on your new grand baby!

Thanks!:goodvibes

Hello, ladies! Just a quickie from me today. I spent the whole day out running errands and shopping. But, we found some great deals. Scored Noelle's homecoming dress for 10 bucks, along with some other awesome finds.
I'm so tired now. Night night!!

Oh, man, that stinks! :sad2: Hopefully the people Tina work with will be more reasonable.

Good morning, ladies! :sunny:

Wow, it's turning into a ghost town in here! I know Halloween is next month, but it's eerily quiet around these parts. Well, hopefully that just means you've all been out having a fun time this weekend. :thumbsup2

It's in Hollister, only 6 weeks or so. I wish it was longer. I have a costume and everything, we all dressed up. It was fun but more fun for the adults, the kids got bored after a few hours because there wasn't that much for them to do.

We have a lady in town who does screen printing, I went in to ask her about screen printing shirts that Cassidy designed, she has a 25 shirt minimum but that's all I really asked. lol I didn't need that many so I said Thanks and left. I can check her out if you want me to.

I was busy all weekend! Spent Friday night at the concert, which was so much fun!!!! Saturday Micah and I went to Napa for lunch and to pick up my wine club shipment, Sunday we were at the Faire, I'm tired from my weekend.....hahaha

I have class tonight, teaching Watermelon Crawl, an oldie but goodie. lol Class sizes are shrinking with school back in but I was contacted by another bar and asked to teach. I'll probably pass because it's farther away and I don't want any issues with my current gig. I mean, I am an independent contractor so I don't have to clear it with the bar I'm at but still.......

Kerri, I remember my kids getting to the age where the "Faires" no longer appealed to them. But now that they are older and have little ones themselves, they enjoy it again. What goes round, comes round. :cool1:

I really appreciate the offers for the tees.
Unfortunately I really need to have them done locally, so I can pick colors, and approve of things in person. You know how that goes. Also if something goes wrong, and I see some mistakes, I can take them back easily. That happened last year on some of them.
So hopefully, they will still give me a good price. If not, then I will just go to another shop in town. I do have at least five different shops to try. :thumbsup2

Totally understood, I have no problems at all with that, just wanted to give you some other options. :)
The girls liked the dressing up part, Jade went as a pirate, Cass went as a dark fairy. lol They just ran out of things they wanted to do, we got Henna tattoos, walked the booths, ate, but then they were bored. LOL
