Hey Digi Girls!! It's been a looooong time since i have hosted!

The challege this week is pretty simple:
I want you to play with selective coloring.. There are lots of tutorials out there,
http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/cg_display.asp?g=4&seed_id=21423

http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/pselements/ss/partialcolor.htm

http://www.graphicreporter.com/tutorials/elements_partialcolor.html

But, the basic way that i do it is: (in PSE5)
1. Take my pic i want to use and make a copy of it.
2. Change one of the pics to b/w.
3. layer the b/w pic on top of the color one.
4. Using the eraser tool, i erase where i want the color to show up underneath the b/w pic.
5. after i am done i merge the 2 photo layers.

I am sure there are other ways to do it, please lmk if you have other tutorials that we can benefit from!

Here is an example of a lo i did using this technique.

And i will admit - this layout was one of my first... So, be gentle.. LOL  I will be working on another one today and post a new one! But, i wanted to get at least one example up there for ya!

there are no other rules, i just want to see some disney pages, using the color-pop technique! I think if you learn something new , then my work here is done. :)

You have til midnight on 1/20. Winner will be posted on 1/21.

Ok, well, i had to think of something to give you all!! And here is what i have come up with so far - i designed my first template!! And instead of picking one winner for it - i am so excited to have done this, that i want to offer it to all of you -
Here is a preview!

If you use it, please link me to the lo so i can see!!

This is why they are called challenges! This is one of the things I struggle with. I've only done it maybe 2 times. Should be fun though! Thanks! :)

At first I thought, AAAAHHHHHGGGG! :rotfl: Then, How cool is that! :cool2: Then, okay, what photo to use... :scratchin I haven't done selective coloring in a while, so this will be the way to get me to do it again.

Great idea! :thumbsup2

Yeah, I'm having fun with the little simile guys! :rolleyes1

Super challenge...and I do mean challenge!! I haven't done this much so it should be fun!

ahhhhh... that's the point of a "challege" huh.. gets the blood flowin' and the creative juices movin'! ;)

Here is my LO!! I did selective coloring on the pic of my little brother trying to pull the sword from the stone. I wouldn't have done that without this challenge so THANKS!!!

Thanks so much for the fun challenge! :)

Thanks for playing guys!!! I was getting worried.. LOL Wondering if i made it too "challenging" .. ;)

Britt - that was a great use of the coloring! It just stands out!

Melissa - WOW! Love the bright colors! Totally puts the focus on the pics!

Very cool photobee!! Thanks for playing along!

This is going to be the last page for our WDW 2007 trip album. With the help of these weekly challenges I think I'm just about finished scrapping the photos for it. I guess I'll have to tackle all the "stuff" I gathered while there sometime soon.

Thanks for this fun & challenging challenge.

My layout is for the Jammitors in Epcot. These guys are great and too much fun. I love Britt's new kit and I think the colors went together nicely with the pictures.

I've been wanting to try this. Thank you for your great simple instructions! I've been so busy lately, I've missed the last couple of challenges. I'm really hoping to join in on this one... really! :wave2:

I did go to a crop last night. It was my first one in months. I got one page done with some Britt-ish Designs stuff. Whoo!! At least I enjoyed visiting with friends, right?

Well, anyway... love the layouts so far!!! This is a new technique for me, so thank you for the challenge!! pixiedust:

Here is my entry. I don't do this very often... so quite the challenge for me... but I like the way this LO turned out. Thanks so much. I actually doubled up and used it for the layering challenge at SM.

Great lo's guys!! Thank you so much for playing!!

Thanks for the challenge. I've always wondered how to do that re-coloring technique!! :) I honestly don't have any good photos for it, but I still learned something. Yay!

Hi everyone....

I'm very new here. In fact this is my first post :) I'm going to try to do this challenge and hopefully many more in the future.
