DIS Coupon Train - ~~UPDATE PAGE 21~~

***UPDATE*** By now, everyone should have received the coupon train list. Please be sure to get the first envelope out no later than Thursday, October 6. Also, please be sure to label your envelope as DIS Coupon Swap. Several DISers have contacted me indicating that they are memebers of several coupon trains, so this will help those people distinguish between the train. Thanks!!!!! ***END UPDATE***


We had a DIS coupon train going a while ago, and it eventually ended. I'd like to get another one started. Here's how it will work:

1) Each person will gather an envelope of 50 coupons.

2) Person #1 on the list will send his/her envelope to person #2. Person #2 will send to person #3, etc.

3) Once the envelope has been received, look through it and remove any coupons you plan on using. If you remove 5 coupons, put 5 new ones back in the envelope. Please also replace any expired coupons in the envelope. Now, send this envelope to the next person on the list.

4) Please PM me with your DIS screen name, real name, and home address if you're interested in participating. Deadline for entry is Sunday, October 2. Once I have everyone's name/address, I will PM out the list, and we'll get started.

But, I'll need you to be more specific with the rules.
*Do you mail an envelope every week to the person who is after you? Or do you have to wait until the envelope makes it back around to you before you send anything?
*If it's a wait until it makes it around to you thing, then you mail it immediately, right? You dont' wait for the sunday paper or anything.
*Does it have to be only 50 coupons? What if I have a bunch of extras I want to include? Why couldn't I? Say I use 5 coupons but I want to throw 10 coupons in. What's wrong with that?

I'm not trying to change the rules or take over or anything. I've just never played on a train before and I don't know how they work.

I asked in the pm, but realized others might wonder too, so I'll ask here too. Are you going to organize it so we are sending and receiving to/from the closest geographically? Or are we supposed to list what types of coupons we typically use and then you'll group us together by products?

And are there any coupons that are not appropriate or "taboo"? (I really don't want to offend whoever I'm sending coupons to!)

Wow!! I've received quite the response to this train; we have almost 30 people onboard so far. I'm very excited!!! If you PMed me, I returned your PM, confirming that I received it. If you haven't received a PM from me, please send me a new PM.

Several people have expressed concern about upcoming WDW vacations. The reason why I asked for your DIS screen name is so that, if you do have a trip planned, you can contact the person below you on the list and let him/her know the envelope will be delayed. Or, you can ask the person ahead of you to 'skip' you for the dates that you're gone (I believe this is what we did on the last coupon train, so that the train isn't slowed down any).
