DIS CON Illuminations.... Why I wouldn't miss it...

One of the official events of DIS CON is the Illuminations Dessert party. I can not tell you how incredible this is. First you get the most awesome dessert party...Last year it was delicious. Then The most awesome view of Illuminations...even better than renting a pontoon boat or the Breathless. Lastly and most importantly...the awesome feeling of having 150 DIS CONers, in one place. I can tell you that we all sat there together...There was absolute silence...then all of the sudden we were getting up. There was about 40 of us arm in arm..rocking back and forth. People were just so close for that moment in time. I remember wishing I could freeze that moment. Hard to explain if you weren't there...I know I sound corney, but it is the truth.

I would not miss this event for anything. I wanted my DH to experience it...He is going to think I have lost my marbles, but maybe he will understand the DIS better

If you can make either the full official convention or just the weekend, this is worth it....

I can not wait to do it again....This time I will bring a box of Klenex!!

This was one of the things I was so diappointed I missed by not coming last year and there was certainly no holding me back this year - I think I read somewhere saying that they would pay the price for DISCon just for this one event.

The illuminations to me is always such a moving experience anyway but to share it with other DIS people who I KNOW feel the same way will be awesome

Thanks TC for the piccy - I bet it's one of the few occassions at DISCon where everyone is speechless

Doc...no way...of courseit is!! As you can see everyone was doing their own thing. Some people were there with family, other were in small groups others in large groups...I can say no one was alone I just happened to be in a touchy feeley group. I can assure you that even the non-touchy feeley people had a great time( I know one or two of those )

It is just so awesome...

The location is not far from France as you og over the bridge. It is just an expeirience like no other. I was one who would was going to pay the price of full admission so my DH could attend this.

I would encourage anyone who can to go...

wish i could go....but since my employer gives us a month off 12/15 - 1/15, I can't get off any other time in Dec.
If you are lucky enough to get time off....GO !

The last time we were in Orlando it poured for 3 evenings straight. As I sloshed around I noticed that none of the Illuminations cruises were being held. What happens to Illuminations parties if it rains?

It won't rain!!! I have already spoken to mother nature and she agreed to hold off any rain, so lots more people can join us!!
