This requires a seperate post

Remember how I said ds23 was going to Boston to see a friend. Well the other guy who was suppose to go didnt so ds drove himself all the way.

His car has over 90K and a bad transmission. So today he calls us and says he is broken down in Conneticut. He doesnt know where etc. He finds out where he is. We have to take the ferry from Port Jefferson NY to Bridgeport Ct, to get him. It was alot closer than driving. So dh looked at the car. The transmission is shot. So now ds car is in Ct and we dont know what to do. He is looking into towing it or donating it to the same charity that I donated mine too. They also have 2 offices in Ct, so that is good.

It was nice having the ferry ride, but with all my dizzy issues it was not god. I mostly stayed inside. It was sunny but cold out and the motion was not good, plus walking upstairs with my bad knee etc. On the way home I just stayed in the van down below, but even then it was rocky as a storm was coming. I did look outside and we saw the moon . It was orange and really nice. Actually that is the farthest I have ever been since FL in dec.

So now ds will need to buy himself a new car, worry about getting to his 2 jobs (thank heavens the other 2ds have spring break this week) and then he also might have jury duty.

It should be a "fun" week around here.:)

Ann - I forgot to say that is so wonderful about Avery!! I hope they have a fantastic time and take lots of pictures!

Lisa- I am so happy you made it through these two chemos. I was thinking about you over the weekend. Wondering how you did. I couldn't believe the last few drops you had a reaction!!! I am so glad you are through it. That is so great that your DD is at Splash Mountain. Coool! Hang in there sweetie!

Cheryl- I am happy that you are feeling better. The kitchen project sounds exciting!!! When you are feeling better...post pictures so we can see the progress.

MP!!! How are you? I haven't had a chance to catch up! Who is getting married? How have you been?

NHAnn! How are you doing? I forget that you are up with tax time. I hope they are not drilling you too bad. :scared1: Awesome and way cool :cool1: for Avery!!! That is so great!

LMP- Awwwww No! I am sorry about the car situation! That's tough too for your DS. It's wonderful how you take a bummy situation and see the beauty of the moon. You are one Awesome Lady!

I have bronchitus again. I missed my Hemotologist/oncologist appt because I didn't want to go in there with my germs. (One day I was getting chemo and a lady was there whose son had the H1N1 virus and she was talking like it was nothing. I asked for a mask that day) So it is rescheduled until May. I was so sick for 3 days. I will have to find a way to make up the money :headache:

Because my DH has a steady good job and i guess credit is better my son lost a grant and we have to get a loan for him to start school in May. Could they wait any later in telling me?!?!?! We get blessing sometimes that are sprinkled with a little malediction. Oh Well. Gotta do what we gotta do!

Greetings to all! Nice to read about how everyone is doing, whether the news is good or bad.

LMP - Sorry to hear about your DS car. And your ferry experience with the dizziness. That must have been tough.

Lisa - Also sorry that you had such a rough treatment. Hopefully the next one, if needed, will go better.

Ann - that is so great about Avery. Something pretty special.

Cheryl - hang in there. I know how discouraging it can be when it looks like treatment will go on forever. Seems like I get just enough of a break to be feeling better and it is time to start a round of maintenance.

During this break from treatment I am trying to work with my endo to get my diabetes under better control. My numbers have been really bad and are probably contributing to some of my issues like tiredness. We also want to figure out why I am still anemic. The iron I am taking is really doing a number on me! So tomorrow I am off to see the endo to mess with my diabetes meds and next week to my primary care to see where we look next for the cause of the anemia.

I am so looking forward to my vacation in May!

Good afternoon ladies

Laurie - you would be proud of me. I finally booked the airfare and the 2 add on days today. We will add the 26 and 27th at the Yacht Club. I booked a garden room, never had one before, so I hope its a nice view. I always book the cheap parking lot view.

Ann - I am sure you have heard all the details of Averys special day. How exciting!

Candy - I am so sorry you have had to deal with the bronchitis. Did you have a flu shot? I made sure I got one this year for sure with all the germs the ds would bring home daily from college. Hope your new visit goes well in May

smiley, marci, lisa, cheryl, - thinking of you all. Keep fighting tough girls!

PatsMom - I am so looking forward to this vacation too.

Ds is still working on his car woes. Did you see my little thread? I am getting desperate so what else to do..ask some disers. I will give him those 2 numbers if he needs them. Our lawnmower is getting repaired, its $175! Yup thats what happens when ds runs over a chunk of concrete with it:headache:

I know it has been some time since I've posted but you are always in my thoughts and prayers. To all of you who are in treatment at the moment and having a tough time, I hope that everything will begin to improve. For all of you with heavy hearts, I hope that with each new day, your burdens will be lightened and each day will begin to be a bit better for you.

Ann - How awesome for Avery and his family! They must be so excited.

Laurie and Linda - I will be in touch soon. I think I had the same "flu" or whatever it was that you had Linda as I'm just beginning to feel human now after 4 weeks of being ill, 2 antibiotics and 2 trips to the Dr. Everyone ran in the other direction when I coughed - I sounded like I had whooping cough! It really seeped me of all my energy but I'm beginning to feel better every day now.

Maryann - I hope everything is beginning to be resolved with your DS's car and that you are feeling better. I love your sense of humor!!

Merry: I remember the night your son and his girlfriend became engaged at WDW as that was the night we met. And now the wedding.....It's such fun planning for it.

For all of you who are fairly new to the thread, please know that I think of all of you and as Cheryl says "Fight like a Girl" and hang in there. It's easy for me to say but I know how difficult it is to be in that position.

Wishing all of you a Happy Passover and a Happy Easter.

Barbara

(I wrote a long post and lost it to cyberspace! So Frustrating!

Just want to say quick hello.

Lisa, smiley, patsmom, cheryl -Thinking of you all.

LMP-Did your son get jury duty too? I hope you are feeling better too.

It's dreary here...raining and raining.

Barb thanks for the well wishes and sending hugs back to ya. I did that with another post as well today????

 to everyone!

Good afternoon ladies

Barbara - good to "see" you but so sorry you also had to deal with all of those flu like symptoms. Hope you start to feeling like "you" real soon. Also hope you guys have good weather up there. We are having rain and storms on and off.

Well exactly 1 month from today dh and I will be in the Happiest Place on Earth!!
Before I go I have to: get a B12 shot, see oncologist, see stomach surgeon, see other ENT guy and get a hearing test, go to hospital for 2 shots and a blood test, so 3 visits for that total. Hmm, cancer keeps you busy!!:)

Well being the mom that I am, hmm. Ds23 is not speaking to me because I told him he has not progressed enough on the car and it cant sit there etc. I told him you have 1 hour for lunch, so you can make alot of calls etc. He made 1 call yest, they gave him another number and he didnt call it:headache: Today I gave him my cell phone as his drops calls alot. We also called someone we knew who might be able to help us, but havent heard back. The jurors are up to about 500 for today, he is like 720? So he might have to go Friday. I am hoping not. He is also talking about getting a used car. Nice, but get this problem solved first etc.

I am thinking of you all. You ladies are so amazing and inspiring with all you go through, have been through etc.

GTAGWTA.

Good afternoon ladies

So what are everyones holiday plans? We are just doing the usual. Going to church and then I am cooking a big ham dinner.

Everyone throw me a box of calgon. Just when I thought it couldnt get any worse with ds, he now is sitting in the juror room at the Supreme Court. :headache:We did a little car swap to cover that one. All I can say is praise God the other 2 ds have spring break this week, oh and then ds throws in he has an out of state basketball tournament next week. We said, sorry, not our problem. I did make 2 phone calls for him today. No luck. I will seek dh advice. I have 2 donation places more to call thanks to the disers in CT

GTAGWTA. Hope you all are enjoying the spring weather.

LMP-Maybe I should have mentioned the jury! OH no!!! Well you have a blessing that your other DS are off! How have you been feeling? Anymore dizziness?

The weather is crap here. Been raining ALLLLLLLLLL week!! It's supposed to be rain this weekend too. We have a special bible assembly on Saturday. I can't wait for that because I missed the last one when I was in the hospital.

I plan on going to DNana's on Sunday.:lovestruc Trying to think of an easy dessert to make. Any suggestions?

Lisa- I hope you are feeling better. You are in my prayers.

PNM Where are you lady? I hope you are good.

PatsMom, cheryl and smiley- Hope everyday is getting better.
I hope to see my Grandbaby this weekend. I got new pictures yesterday. So cute! She is 11lbs 9 oz. My butterball!

GTAGWTA

Good afternoon ladies

Candy - Sorry your weather is bad. I hope you have a wonderful visit with your dgbaby and a nice viist with your dNana. I like to make simple stuff too. I dont know if these recipes are on line, banana split cake, hummingbird cake and Marci...you can relate to this one..banana pudding with the vanilla wafers. I got hooked on that stuff in texas. We can only find vanilla pudding around here to make it with. I had youngest ds make a big ole bowl once, so good!! Oh and yes, sometimes I feel a little dizzy. Right now is the constant loud ringing in my ear. Its really loud and annoying.

Linda - did you see me answer your ferry question

smiley, marci, lisa and cheryl - hope you can enjoy the holidays despite the treatments.

Smiley - remember YOU come lst sista!

Laurie - has your mom decided on coming with you?

Well ds got out of jury duty. They didnt pick him. He was actually upset. Gosh I would have been jumping for joy. I think he actually liked the idea of not going to his real job for a while.

The car problem is getting solved. Dh demanded he decide something and finish it yest. So we found out our friend who lived in CT lost his job and is now living in NY, so he couldnt check on the car to see if it is still there, But ds is making plans to donate it to a Breast Cancer Charrity:yay:. They said 92 % of the profit goes to help and the rest is administrative., so I am happy this is coming to a conclusion. He has to call them to arrange the pick up. etc.

LMP - So glad that your son finally got the car taken care of! One less thing to worry about.

Happy Easter/Passover to everyone! I am off to my mother's house and also to see my grandson in the morning. I'll do Easter Vigil on Saturday. Hope everyone has a nice holiday!

LMP - you will beat me to Disney by one day. We'll be arriving Saturday. I am just glad that I am finally starting to feel better from the last round of treatments so I can enjoy the trip. And my next cystoscopy won't be until mid-June so that is when the next round of maintenance treatments will start. At least I am being optimistic that it will be another round of maintenance and not further surgery for a recurrence!

I am so looking forward to vacation. Going to the doctor too next Tuesday to re-check my anemia. I think the numbers will be a bit better since I am feeling better. Also getting the blood sugar under better control which is helping significantly.

Beach Club and Stormalong Bay - here we come!

Mom is not coming, Maryann so I will doing a solo.

A lot happening here. Trying to maintain sanity.

Looking forward to the trip. I am grateful for my DH.

Happy Easter everyone.

Just wanted to wish everyone a Blessed Easter!

I am feeling okay from the chemo, but have absolutely no energy. My hemoglobin was not low enough on Monday to warrant a Prokrit shot, but I believe it will be by Monday's labs. I haven't had the nausea issues that I usually have after chemo, but I am twice as tired. I slept most of the weekend.

For those of you going to WDW in May, Meg now has her work schedule. She will begin work on May 13th at Splash Mountain from 7 am - 3:45. Saturday the 14th 6:30 a.m. - 3:15. Sunday May 15th 6:30 a.m. - 3:15. She next works May 20th 2:15 - 11:00 p.m and Sunday the 22nd 6:30 a.m. - 3:15. I hope that some of you will be able to stop by and see her so you can report back to me!

If you want to send Meg a PM, her DIS name is meg1mmfan.

Good morning ladies... Im sorry I have been MIA and do not have time to catch up at the moment. I am heading out soon to see 4 regular visits and do 3 admissions today.... will put me between 42-44 visits this week when normal is 26-30. Can we say Im tired?! LOL could be worse though.

I need some prayers for a friend and her family. Her mom is a breast cancer survivor and they found a spot on her lung a few months ago. They werent going to do another PET scan until May but the family got a copy of the last report that recommended it shouldve been repeated in 3 months!! Needless to say, I told them to insist to get that appt moved. There was also an enlarged lymphnode (1-3) in the cervical triangle, by that find, the PET scan was moved to yesterday. They have a follow up with results on Tuesday.

I am going to do 2 5K walks for BC in October. 10/1 at Tampa/St Pete and then the Orlando one (date not officially released) is 10/15 or 16. There is also a slight chance that I will do or try to do the 3 day walk in Tampa/St. Pete 10/28-30.

Happy Easter everyone! You continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. love ya'll

Greetings and Salutations DISers. For those of you who don't me, I'm WDW4US2's daughter Meg. Mom told me that she posted my hours on here and I thought it would be easier for y'all to get a hold of me for any reason. I don't check the boards often or get on here much anymore but feel free to PM me. Looking forward to meeting everyone at my new job!

Hi ladies!! I hope everyone is having a blessed Easter weekend :grouphug:
I did indeed take the extra week, I know now I really needed it. I went for my final A/C chemo on wednesday, they reduced it by half, which of course makes me worry I'm not getting full treatment, but considering what even 3/4 did, and a full dose....I'm guessing I've gotten full treatment! could not ever do that full one again.... They put me on a new antiemetic this time too, called Emend. Apriprent is the chemical name. It has helped tremendously I'm happy to say, and I was even able to have dear grand daughter and her sisters and mum here for dinner the day before he birthday, and then made a brief appearance at her birthday party yesterday  I came home at 7 and fell asleep on the sofa, went to bed at 9 and slept till 10 today, with only 1 wakening for meds. I just want to say thanks to everyone for your good advice!!
Lisa I hope you get on the upswing very soon!!
Sha I will keep your friend in my prayers!
Meg!! You are living a dream of most everyone here I think!! lol...congratulations!
Laurie...hope you are able to keep your sanity! and things get sorted for you asap! am jealous you get to go away...I'm planning though!! :thumbsup2 and you too Patsmom!
Maryann, we have banana pudding here, I'm going to try that one! glad your son is getting things sorted!
Candy30 hope you enjoy time with ur new grandbaby!! the pictures you posted before were stunning! :lovestruc

Thanks for posting Meg. I will be looking for you in May. Congrats on landing this job. I hope you have a wonderful experience. We all love your mom here. I hope she will be up to visiting you at the happiest place on earth soon.

Smilie, good to hear that you are doing more. Are you celebrating the end of chemo? Thanks for posting so we know how you are doing.

Praying for you friend too, Sha.

Hope the weather improves, Candy. Nice here in the early morning and late in the day, no humidity, upper 80's in middle of day. No humidity right now so I am outside a lot. It won't last long.

MaryAnn, glad you were able to add those days. What a nice, long trip. Thank goodness the car dilemna is solved. With kids, it is never dull.

Patsmom, I hope we get to meet. We need to plan.

DD has two possible internships for the summer, one 1 3 week deal in Europe where she will do classes, visit international offices of American based companies and travel. It is pricey, she is working on financial aid of some time, not sure if it will be a grant or a loan. The other one is an internship in DC with the international accounting firm I started with right out of college.

Funny how things come around.

Neither is definite, but she and her BF are coming up tomorrow for Easter, and Monday she starts a new job at a first class restaurant not far from campus. She is going to try to work two jobs until she knows for sure about the internships. I am proud of her for trying to contribute towards the cost of all of this. She did get her full tuition scholarship renewed again for her senior year, thank goodness. I never really count it until she gets the letter.

DD15 is at the beach, DH is at work and I am resting.

DS22 is home right now. Nice to have him here.

Happy Easter, everyone.

Hey Laurie, I must say I envy your weather. Ours has finally impoved, it was like a mild summer day out there today, but the season is at least a half month or more behind, march and the first half of April were abysmal!! so cold and rainy. Your daughter is so lucky to have such good opportunities to pick from! I say lucky, but it is really all down to hard work on both her and her parents part!! I wish her every success.
The only thing I have had so far this time is extreme pain from spasms in my esophagus and surrounding areas. It was the worst I'd ever had it yesterday, I had to take 4mg of dilaudid 3 times!! I've never had to take it more than once in a day, usually weeks apart! but today is fine, so if that's the trade for the other I'll gladly take it! at least the pain can be dealt with.
I'm glad your family is all around you, I love having my family around me too!

Good evening ladies

Sha - good to see you posting. Wow, you sure are busy with all your patients. Thats alot for sure. Will say a prayer for your friend and her family.Any chance you will be in the world in May when we will be there?

PatsMom- Dh and I will be at the GF May 20-23 and then the BC from the 23-26 and then the YC from the 26-28th. We only have a standard view room at the BC, so I am sure the view will not be good. I think there is a picture of Laurie and I around page 150-157?

Meg - Hi, I am sure my dh, Laurie and I will come to see you on the 20th. Can we see you WITHOUT going on the ride?

Laurie - Those internships sound great for your dd. Wow, I wish our ds would have gotten some kind of scholarship. That is amazing about your dd.

smiley - hope the anti nausea medicine works for you. That was great that you could spend some time with your gdg too.

Well we went to church last night and then out to eat. It was good actually having all 5 of us in 1 place at the same time. That is a rarity these days for sure. The car donation is so confusing. I think ds is calling again. It goes through so many channels it seems. Oh and I just burnt my L big toe. I was taking the chicken out and somehow the hot grease splattered up and right through my sneaker, soaked my sock by the toe and I was screaming! I am glad ds19 was here. He got me ice. I took 2 tylenol and will probably have a nice little blister later I am sure. Dh has taken ds23 out car shopping. He is thinking of a hyundai sonata?

GTAGWTA. Enjoy your holidays
