Hi Ladies

Lisa - glad to hear you are getting back into the full exercise routine and that your ds is feeling better.

KJ - I thought of you and how you live amid the wildlife. Now we have a beautiful red cardinal here and a woodpecker dh saw. But now we have BUNNIES! Honestly bunnies cant live in a neighborhood and soon I am sure there will be too many bunnies. Sorry, I need to get rid of the bunnies but dont know how. Wonder how they got here to begin with. I want ds20 to try and take them to the park which is a few blocks away. Its many acres of woodland and they will be happy there. I think someone caught one and dropped it around here. I guess they picked our house since we are surrounded by 2 inground pools. Hm, I am sure you will hear my bunnie saga until they are relocated.

The vbs week is over and it was great! Today ds22 is going for a week end bachelor party in Boston (thinking of Linda). They are going deep sea fishing and on a historical tour? The wedding s next week 6 of them are going in someones mini van. The guy is only 19:scared1:. Way too young.
Dh has his guy and another lady here for meetings so I dot know about the movie and tomm. ds20 and dh are working with others on our church renovation. So it might be a no go.

GTAGWTA. Have a great week end everyone.

GAGWTA!!

So sorry I have been among the missing!

I was at my happy place from 7/8-7/13, met up with friends. I had a wonderful time but honestly it was just too blasted hot. Even doing the "out early in morning back to the room at noon and out again at night" routine, it was very very hot. I guess it did not help that for the week prior, and since I've been home, it has been unusually hot and humid for an extended period of time here. Exceeded 90 for something like 11 of the last 14 days. Thank goodness we have a window unit AC in the bedroom so we can sleep at least!

Had a great dinner alone in the lounge area at Il Mulino at the Swan one night. YUM. A birthday dinner at Rose & Crown with my friends :cloud9:, a great lunch at Le Cellier, did the Dessert Party for fireworks at MK, hmmmmm, what else....I did do some stuff besides eat! :lmao: Kicked butt on the Toy Story ride, dodged huge groups of Brazilian Tourists wherever I went, wore a birthday button all day on my birthday...it was a fun trip, just way too hot. I've been in June and July before, but it wasn't this bad. Kept the crowds down to some extent and we didn't have long waits for the attractions we wanted (we strategized carefully for timing and use of fast passes) but it was draining.

Tomorrow I have my breast MRI...send me some calming vibes about 2 pm if you think of it!!

Good morning ladies

Ann - :bday:party::cake::cake: Happy Birthday. Sounds like you had a wonderful time in Disney. Sending thoughts and prayers for the MRI today.

Tracey - I hope your dr. visit goes well and that the pain subsides.

And speaking of pain, that is what I am having on my left side. It was so bad sometimes over the week end I was crying. I know the dr. says he doesnt feel anything wrong and he doesnt know what is wrong. I told dh I definetely think something is wrong. This is really bothering me. I am triyng to deal with it but I have a feeling I will be going back to the surgeon again sometime etc.

The movie was a no go. Dh was just too busy. Ds had a good time in Boston, but hates the new job. Hmm, what mom thought he would??

Hopefully tomm. I can make a candelight pkg. reservation. Also how did I manage to spend $200 at the grocery store yest? wowsa:scared1: Well its so hot here so its lots of drinks and ice cream etc. to placate the ds I guess.

GTAGWTA.

Ann - Hope your MRI went fine today.

Lisa - Text, Facebook, Ipod - your are so far ahead of me in the tech world. I don't even "cell phone". I "dis" and I have a land line phone - oh, and we did get a TV with a remote control a couple of years ago (the old one didn't have that capability). So I guess I am a bit of a dinosaur too when it comes to technology/electronics, but I LOVE tools. Give me a Sawsall, a cordless drill and a hammer and I'm happy as a clam.

MaryAnn - How's the bunny situation. Out here in the boonies there is so much wildlife it's hard to go into work in the morning. I just want to sit with my cup of coffee and watch the critters. The only thing I haven't seen is the bear that's been wandering around lately. I've been looking for it but haven't seen it - rats. I really want to get a good look too. Maybe I need to smear some tuna and bacon grease on myself and go sit in the woods :lmao:

Hope everyone has a great week.

GAGWTA!

Lisa - Text, Facebook, Ipod - your are so far ahead of me in the tech world.

Im right there with Lisa.... and she is on my FB page too

Took mom to WDW Saturday for an overnight at WDW. We "slummed" and stayed at Pop. She said it was OK but didnt like the beds, there was no fridge... etc. She has been spoiled with the other places we have stayed at. (BTW not trying to bad mouth Pop). We met up with a couple friends and was VERY leisurely trip. We had lunch in the food court area at PORS, then road the surrey bikes and this was a comedy! We checked into Pop, mom napped and friend who also was staying at Pop and I went to the pool. The water was really warm! We went to dinner at the Poly food court, MK to Hall of Presidents, long way around to get Ice Cream in Tomorrowland, and we watched the fireworks. They have reworked them and they flow better with the story line and seem shorter from 1st night. They took out Tinkerbell flying though. Can hardly wait for Wishes to return!

It was PACKED with Brazillian kids on tour. They were lined up on MS USA for the parade and it caused WDW to add a second showing of the parade. We shouldve stayed in the park to wait to leave. Took 45 minutes to get the boat to the Poly and the monorail, ferry and buses were still backed up. Only time I have seen it close to that was on a 4th of July trip. I counted about 20 tourist flags on MS USA and didnt count them all.

Alan and my boss survived the tri athalon. Alan was 909 coming in and boss was 2459. Think it is great that Alan did so well.

Mom is having finger surgery on the 30th. Will keep you all posted. Hopefully it will work and be good compared to what it is. That she will get good use out of it after all of this.

Sha - Sounds like you had a fun trip. I, too, am spoiled and don't like staying at the Value's anymore. I only do it when I'm alone. The rooms are just too small to be comfortable with another person. I understand your annoyance with the tour groups, too. I thought they usually show up in February? That's what I remember from one of our trips.

KJ - I am intrigued by your love of tools. I also know how to handle most of the ones you mentioned. You should have seen me before we had hurricane panels. Every time there was an approaching storm, I was outside with the plywood, drill and power drill. I don't really miss those days!

MaryAnn - Hope your pain has lessened.

NHAnn - Hoping all went well with your MRI today.

Just checking in, was away on vacation myself last week, getting some very welcome R & R with family and friends, then back to the old grind yesterday with a double header in the blazing summer heat. :lmao:

Nice to see everyone here, hope everyone's well. Have been trying to keep up. GAGWTA :grouphug:

Good afternoon ladies

Sha - wishing your mom all the best with her upcoming surgery. Have to admit we have never stayed in the values either or the moderates. Only the swan and dolphin and deluxes. My dh is big (just ask Laurie!!) and he wont settle for anything less than a queen sized bed. It must also be so neat that you can practically go to wdw any time you want.

KJ - the bunnies are still there, DH comment "oh they are so cute", hmm not when there will be many more etc.

Well ds22 got up last night to talk to dh who was working late and dh told me ds said he hates the job. Humm, guess mom knows best. Well all the good jobs I saw for him are now gone, so he is on his own I guess with a decision etc. They also want him to quit his gym and coaching jobs, umm, right now that is his only source of income and the places where he would network and meet people to sell insurance to etc.

DS 20 is also at it again. I told him tomm. he is going to the college to straighten out his class mess. He now says he lost his id. Umm, not my problem. Guess he is also seeing his cash flow crisis right now.

DS18 and ds20 are at the beach so I have peace and quiet for a while. Yeah. I am trying to not do too much as far as work and lifting. The dr. said when my stomach hurts I need to rest for a few days. So I am using the crockpot today and maybe tomm. Our electric bill was almost $400:scared1:

GTAGWTA, Have a great day everyone.

Good morning ladies!

Tracey, Avery is doing just wonderfully, complete remission at this time, and having his first real energetic active "normal" summer in 4 years! :thumbsup2

I had the MRI Monday afternoon, my first one of any type at all....very interesting, yikes, the loud noises!! And not being able to move/shift and looking at nothing but white plastic for 1/2 hour was boring. Wish I could have listened to music. But it's over, now just the wait for results. They said "within a few days" and that the surgeon will be the one following up with me. I'm taking the fact that no one called me yesterday is good and if no one calls today even better ;)

Still trying to figure out my Mac and my new camera as far as posting some pics here....I have a few from WDW I want to share, and also some I took of butterflies in my flower garden the other day! Maybe tonight.

Off to work I go, thinking of you all!! :grouphug:
GAGWTA!!

Lisa - Glad to hear that there are others who don't think it's "unusual" for women to get outside and do those things. Although in that last several years it's getting better that way. About 13 years ago a big tree fell across our driveway while I was at work and DH was out of town so I got out the gas powered chainsaw (the electric one wouldn't reach) and cut it up in pieces that I could move and took care of it. Women friends couldn't believe that I didn't wait for the "man of the house" to do that chore :scared1:. I understand many have physical limitations that preclude them from being able to do some of those things - but I don't and I enjoy doing them.

Now I do have a limitation on technological applications - it's called an "incomplete brain" :lmao:. I think I'm missing part of the brain that would allow me to understand any item that has anything to do with electronics or technology in general. But I guess that's fodder for another discussion.

Ann - So happy to hear that Avery is doing well. I hope he is enjoying his summer. And I hope you get good results from your MRI. Having to lay there for so long with your hands tied behind your back is no fun!!

MaryAnn - You always have a lot on your plate -

GAGWTA.

Ann, keep us posted about your MRI. I found the MRI I had for my shoulder earlier this month difficult as well. I made the mistake of opening my eyes as I was first going inthe capsule and I had a near panic attack. Breathing deeply and moaning got me through it. I was very relieved when it was over though. I was shocked at how close the top was to my face. I cannot believe you were able to keep your eyes open.

A new computer AND a new camera??? That would push me over the top. Our IT guy at work is MIA, apparently dealing with a bout of depression after some serious health problems and surgery. I walk on eggs with my computer at work.

Would love to see your pictures though.

So glad to hear that Avery is having a normal little boy summer this year. He and his parents have been real troopers through this ordeal. It is good to hear some good news.

I managed to let my puppy Naj throw me off balance last night and fell in the living room. I was consumed with finding pictures from our kids' early years to put in mom's memory book and just wan't prepared when she ran over to me. My shoulder felt wretched for a little while and I think I was in shock for a few minutes. Nothing is broken but I am trying to decide whether or not to call the orthopedic doc who is supposed to do the platelet rich plasma injection in mid August.

Linda and Sha, what do you think? I did have trouble sleeping but it was quite a jarring fall. I may wait until tomorrow to decide. My shoulder just has a constant dull ache now, whereas before it hurt intensely only with certain movements of reaching in certain positions. What a crybaby I am.

It is going to make it hard for me to bang on my computer at work all day I guess, but hear I am on our thread, so don't write me off just yet.

Found out insurance no longer covers the injection as it is considered experimental. What is another $400, right?

I think I will be exiting this planet with no money one day because I will have spent it all on medical stuff and Disney. Disney seems to be the better value, eh?

Good morning ladies

Laurie - so sorry to hear about your fall. I hope your shoulder is not in too much pain. I think it would be good to call the dr. just to see what they say. Wow, that shot is expensive, but it might be well worth it if it gives you the results you are looking for.

Ann - I am hoping you get good news too. Glad you survived the mri experience. Ds 18 wants a macbook too, but I am on the fence about it. Cant wait to see your pictures. So glad Avery is having a great summer.

KJ - I give you credit sista. I would be one of the ones who physically cant do anything. I think I stripped some wallpaper once, that was abut it.

Sha - I know what you mean about the tourist groups. We encoutered them once at AK and immediately took a different path. Worst experience was having lunch at CP and they were just "hogging" the characters, not waiting for them to come to their tables. They pretended not to understand English. I heard them speaking to each other in English. It got so bad, a cast member actually spoke to them in their native language about the rules etc. What frustrated me the most was there were like 2 adult chaperones for a group of like over 40 girls and worse, they never disciplined them, had them under control etc.

So ladies, guess what I woke up to in the middle of the night....surprise!! None other than the draining wound:scared1::scared1:. Scared the daylights out of me. So not good, DH has put a bandage on it. He says he sees something inside. I know the surgeon was in the office yest. I dont know what his schedule is for the rest of the week, and of course, throw in dh leaving for siberia on friday. I am hoping the np will be there for me to talk to. I am so beside myself right now. Hmm,.remember how I said my stomach was hurting. Maybe this is why???

Sha or Linda - boy Laurie and I are asking you the ??? today, is it normal for a wound to open back up like 6 months later. I just hope this is not a sign of more trouble etc. I need this like a hole in the head.

I will call the surgeon soon. They are not in yet.

GTAGWTA. Have a great day everyone.

Six months later, MaryAnn, wow!

Have you overdone it in the lifting department recently? Do you wear on of those tight abdominal stretchy things, I think it is like a binder? I had a giant one for several months in 2006 after my reconstruction for my stomach since the muscle had been impaired. I hated it, especially in August and September as it was so hot and humid, even inside, it just "feels" hot. Plus to receive the benefit of it it has to be wrapped tight.

Sounds like they need to see you before you husband takes off.

Let us know the doctor's office says.

MaryAnn - That sounds bad - I hope you find out that it's an easy fix and that it heals quick. My heart goes out to you. And to all those who have so many challenges to face every day. I know for many, the physical work is difficult and yet y'all do so much anyway - you are my inspiration to keep going and do all that I can do while I can.

Laurie - Hope your shoulder feels better soon and that the fall wasn't too serious. Those fur babies can really topple us sometimes. Mine was an obstacle course because he always had to be touching me so he was either laying right in front or right in back and since he was so big it was hard not to trip over him as I was always hurrying around. Boy - I miss that.

I cannot believe you were able to keep your eyes open.
Don't forget, with a breast MRI you are laying on your stomach, so opening your eyes just yields your pillow and the bottom of the machine. :rotfl2: Not as bad as laying on your back looking up (which I've had, too! :scared1:)...

That's too bad about your fall. I take it it was the affected arm? At the very least it's going to be sore for a few days. A call in never hurts for pain management and further instructions.

lmp, sure, I've seen some longstanding wounds open up late. But you would have really hoped that sucker would have been healed by now. You always worry about infection when there's a break in the skin. Be mindful of signs of infection in yourself (fever, not feeling well, increased redness or drainage) and yes, you'll need to let them know (as you're doing). That stinks.

I can relate somewhat to the new computer and camera issues. (Well, I got a new camera this spring but it wasn't too bad as it was just an upgrade of my previous camera, but the settings would blow your mind - three legal size pages of settings to set for first time based on someone else's recommendations, etc. It's going to take me a while to figure out how I want them myself. Plus I've started using my external flash a lot for portraits (teams, especially) and have completely embarrassed myself on several occasions when the whole team's posed and smiling, and the friggin flash didn't go off. Good news is I think I finally figured it out - somewhat - after many uh oh  moments. :lmao: ).

I got myself an Iphone. And having never even owned an Ipod, I have no idea how to get songs on it. Well, actually, I do. But it's confusing with our computer since my kids already have accounts on here and it won't seem to allow me to put my own on with them. They've tried to help me but Mom's is still empty. :headache: Maybe I'm destined to just continue to use my trusty CDs (even though they're all over my car, lol). I was able to figure out a bunch of other things on it, though, and it's a lot of fun. I'm finally texting like nobody's business  and can take pictures and send them, go on the net, check on weather and all that good stuff. Love it!

Speaking of cameras and pictures, I don't know if you guys have seen it, but I'm running a Scavenger Hunt for the summer on the Photo Board. It's been a lot of fun with people participating from all over the globe. Feel free to join in! http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2477876&referrerid=70088

KJ - Loved the chain saw story. I have a few of those myself from the aftermath of Tropical Storms/Hurricanes since we've lived here. You should have seen the look on DH's face the first time I came out of the shed with a machete in my hand. Priceless!

Sha - I hope everything goes well with your Mom's surgery.

NHAnn - Great news about Avery!

Laurie - Sorry you are in such pain from your shoulder. I hope it's better soon.

LMP - The issues with you wound sound serious. What does the doctor say?

Pea-n-Me - Wow, you have an iPhone. We just got one for DD for her birthday. She spent the first three days downloading apps and putting music on it. As for my iPod, I don't have an iTunes account. I refuse to pay for music that I have already purchased on 45s, albums, cassettes or CDs. I either download music from CDs or DD gets it for me on Pirate Bay.

I will be busy later this week. I have my Herceptin infusion on Friday and then two of my closest friends from way back are coming into town for the weekend. They're sisters who I've known since I was 13. I told my family not to expect to see much of me until they've gone back home.

I know, that's what I plan to do. I have hundreds of CD's so no need to pay for the songs. :goodvibes But somehow I can't even do that because my kids accounts already have their serial numbers attached to the accounts or some foolishness (we all got iPhones - the older ones 3GS, which WalMart had for $97 and it was a special treat for the kids, who needed phones and new Ipods anyway (originals were lost and broken, respectively), they don't have much of the latest and greatest but they did a great job in school this year despite some big obstacles for both of them and they're working their butts off around the house this year painting and mowing, etc, we don't do allowances - so anyway there are 4 accounts now). There were a couple of things I was going to buy that I didn't have - a new song or two, but most importantly, I want the new Star Trek theme as my ringtone - and I can't get it yet! :headache:

Hey, have a great time this weekend with your friends! :goodvibes

Linda - thanks for the info. I think I know what surgeon 1 meant when he said, you are full of surprises!!

Lisa - have a great week end with your friends. Hmm, machete. I have pictures of Xena, the warrior princess or someone like that. I guess you are one sista not to mess with.

Well here is the update. They booked me into another office that is much farther away from our house on friday like 11 am. (The limo is coming to pick up dh at 2:30 so we gotta get out of there etc) I then talked to the hosp secretary who talked to him after his 3 operations were over. He said just to keep a dressing on it and he will see me friday.

The drainage has subsided but it sure dont look good in there. Reminds me of last year. The secretary said - what did you do to open it up. I said, I was sleeping!! I guess I will be hearing the doctors words from last year..gooey and goopy. I dont know what his plan of action will be. The less invasive the better. I so do not want him opening it back up again. I guess the best case would be cauterizing it with silver nitrate (which he tried last year) and the worst case a cat scan.

So its watch and wait until friday, oh what fun!! So I would appreciate your prayers and good wishes. TIA.
