I have a sad story about ironing.

My MIL used to always iron for my two SIL's that she lives with. I can remember ironing for years and years.

REcently one of my SIL told me she still irons but she just irons the wrinkles right in. She just quietly reirons the garments.

The Alzheimer's is getting worse.

I have told DD19 and DS21 to try and visit her a lot this year. I am afraid she might not know them soon and that will devestate them.

She kept each of them after they were born when I went back to work. She had each of them for a year or two.

They are very close.

DD10 has been twice since she went back to Tulane and brought the boyfriend. It sounded like a very interesting encounter.

Ah, it is starting to thunder. Good thing I cut the grass in the morning.

That is sad! That is one thing that I fear for my mom. I can deal with a stroke... though I don't want too.... but her memory, and at times I wonder if I am seeing it happen or not...

Your mom has been through so much with her health. It is harder to be aware of a decline if you are with them constantly.

My mom got her hearing aids this week. They fit inside the ear and she is having trouble with one as her ear canal is too narrow. I think she will probaly try a different type.

It will be interesting to see how she does tomorrow with everyone at my sister's house.

I think it can be hard sometimes. But I also think I see the changes, where my sisters don't notice it as much because they aren't here as much. People will miss noticing things from the day to day, because its so gradual.

Mom has them and rarely wears them. I have to ask her to wear at least one. She hates them in a crowd or when eating out because of the noise.

Have you ever noticed that you are more attuned sometimes to things when you are not watching them??? I have the movie "Peter Pan" on in the other room... the live one that Columbia Pictures and *cough cough* Universal did. I've seen it a few times, and put it on for noise. And I could hear in the background the music.. it was the music from the Disney Commercials! Just made me smile really big!

O.K. Sha I really wanted to come to your tea party, but the 2 ds were um, hogging the computer, hence I am really thinking of getting another computer since we only have the one desk top, maybe a laptop etc. Well if I was at your tea party, I would be drinking some cold ice tea. Probably Turkey Hill, its the brand around here that everyone likes in my family. I think its from Penn.

Laurie - a little early because I know between the 3 ds they will be on the computer tomm. too after church. So I hope you have a great day.

I hate ironing,. Its like everyone iron whatever you want etc,. I prefer the wash it and wear it mentality.

Talked to dh about Disney. We might go after dec. 7th, as I have an endo appt. then, probably like the 8th to the 15th. That is if surgery stuff doesnt get in the way. I want to cash in a big old bunch of AA miles and get a good deal etc. Maybe we will do a split between the Poly and Yacht Club, I dont know. The tea at the GF sounds fun. We observed it once from the lobby I think. I just know we always do the MVMCP and the CP Package. I like having adrs. I am the total opposite of you I guess Laurie.

Thanks for birthday greetings, Maryann. My actual birthday is the 9th. It is a little wierd this year since it will be 09-09-09. It is a good thing I am not 99 years old.

DD19 was 6 on 06-06-96.

I will never forget the lady at the bakery when I ordered her cake. She called it a "golden birthday."

Maybe I should be watching my p's and q's at 9:09 am?

I think I will be in a meeting then so I doubt I will remember to be on guard!

A Poly and Yacht club trip sounds out of this world.

I have never been to WDW at Christmas. It is just too hard to swing with three in school. How do you manage, Maryann?
So I never did MMCVP or the CP. We did go at Thanksgiving one year and saw the decorations. We even checked out the decorations at GF and WL and saw the Osborne lights at the Studios. I would like to go at Thanksgiving again.

That Thanksgving was very fun. We rented a house and had a heated pool to swim in. The heat was really cranked up, it was like having a very large hot tub.

Oh the kids loved those houses we used to rent.

Now I go for easy and I find onsite is easier. Although Bonnet Creek was pretty awesome and right next to CB so very convenient. With older kids though they want to meander around on their own and the Disney bus service is better than the transportation at offsite resorts. I guess I like the Epcot resorts the best since you walk to Epcot and the studios.

I bet you do have mega points from all your husbands long overseas trips.

We just do Southwest out of New Orleans and always manage to get a good deal, or we drive. We kinda alternate.

I sure like having my internet back. I was having withdrawal so I took my sorry self to Sams and Walmart. What a zoo. LSU's first game of the season is tonight in Washington State and doesn't start til 9:30pm local time. I think every fan in the city was in Sam's.

I hate football season, especially those home games. We live very close to the LSU campus, you can even see the stadium from the entrance of our subdivision across a very large grassy field. Traffic becomes a nightmare as the fans here are rabid. I cringe when I see the students loading up their baskets at Winn Dixie with beer and alcohol. Tailgating to me is the worst invention ever, because of the excessive drinking.

I settle in on game days. Never been to one, although DH, DS21 and DD13 sure like to go to the games when we get tickets which is pretty often. DH's boss gives him box seat tickets sometimes and that is a hit.

It is just not my thang.

Alice - can I ask you a big ol cancer favor,don't know if you will read this before your post op, but if you do would it be possible to ask your dr. if he has any patients with the wonderful rare and agressive columnar cell variant of thyroid cancer? Of course, in my quest of rarity, I am trying to see what the outcome is since they dont have any statistics per se. Thanks so much, and just wondering, do you hve to take part in any of the fall open houses they have at the high schools? I saw the advertisement in newsday.

Well I have been grocery shopping with dh bright and early today. We met one of his coworkers who brought his newly "arranged marriage" bride here to the good ol USA. DH said welcome to her etc. They looked like a happy couple. The guy asked about me, sweet of him. Making lunches, dropping off to ds21 as he got to work 1 hr. late and then taking ds17 to work, glad dh was doing the driving. I have husked the corn for the barbeque tonight, put on the laundry so I am going to take a well deserved nap, dh19 tells me I dont look good, yeah, I dont feel good either. I am going to the dr. tomm. so say a prayer. I sure hope he talks surgery or cat scan and does not start diggging around in my stomach again etc.

Laura - I hope you are feeling better every day and getting your strength back.

Sha - It must be great to live so close to WDW! We have friends who live very close but they are (unfortunately) not Disney people.

Maryann - I can't believe how much you do on a daily basis after all you have been through. I'm so glad you are feeling stronger.

Linda - Hi Linda - what would we do without all your medical knowledge and your willingness to share it!

Ann - so glad Avery is doing well.

Mellissa - we are only about 3 1/2 months out now from WDW. I'm really hoping we can meet even for a short visit. Hope your DD is settling into school and feeling better about it.

Happy Birthday Laurie (sorry a day late)... no worries about the connection. It was nice.

I think anyone who goes to WDW at Christmas time needs to have time to go to the resorts. There are so many neat details they do in the lobbies. My Favorites are the GF, BW and BC.... WL too. I want to stay in the cabins sometime in Dec to ride around in there to see the decorations that people do there.

LMP I had that same problem when I would be at moms before I got a laptop.

I hope you ladies are all doing okay today. Continued thoughts and prayers!

I love that I close to WDW =0) only reason to put up with the humidity.

Thanks all, my party was Sundya and it was lovely. Both of our college aged kids made the effort to drive to my sisters. It was the first time in several years that everyone gathered to celebrate my birthday. Everyone was in a great mood. I had a beautiful harvest decorated cake with fall colors and PUMPKINS, not rosex!!!! DD19 bought me these amazing hand decorated hurricane candle holders that are perfect for the fall, the leaves and colors work nicely with my entire house. I am getting into decorating for fall although it is pretty stifling heatwise.

If I can just keep our puppy Naj from jumping on top of the dining room table.

The "real birthday" is actually tomorrow, 09-09-09.

But it I am not mistaken, Linda's is today and I believe her DH and maybe mother is this week as well.

I started to feel guilty about the pressure on DH about this trip so I offered to postpone/cancel. Then I said what if I invited mom.

She is lukewarm, I invited my brother Tom from NY, then DD19 and DD13 all want to go. It is too complicated with school, and Tom cannot make it. Besides, all this intrest made DH jealous at some level. He wants to wait till the last minute to decide.

I don't like doing it this way as I like to anticipate.

But it is cool, I don't obsess much about packing, especially if it is just DH and me.

At this point, whatever happens, happens.

Good luck at the doctos visit tomorrow, Maryann. I'll have you on my mind today.

Barbara - Nice to see you. My dh bought the one ds a vancouver 2010 t shirt for the olympics when he was there in may.

Sha - I love the christmas decorations. My favorite resorts are gf, of course the gingerbread house, note to self, dont buy the shingle again. It tastes terrible. Also beach club, the cholocate carousel is fantastic. My favorite park is epcot of course. I love going through the arch at night etc.

Lisa - Hope you are having a good visit with your family

Alice - hope your post op went well and that you got a good biopsy report back.

Well dh and I went to the surgeon today. Of course there was "mike" the medical student. again. This guy creeps me out. He just stands there and looks and doesnt utter a word. Maybe that is the rules and what he is suppose to do but its still weird none the less. And No, Lisa he was not cute! Kind of small and scrawny. I think my ds are bigger than him, Well Dr. M. says ...drumroll....The wound is looking GREAT! He thinks the pain I am having is from scar tissue, um I really dont think so and I dont want to argue with him. I had this same operation like 10 years ago and didnt feel like this. Well I didnt even ask but he said he is going to do a ct scan with contrast of the abdomen and pelvis.So I am waiting for the hosp. to call with a date after its approved. Then he said call him like 4 days after I get it. I saw my favorite np in the hall and we talked about who else ds who is going there next week. Then later was phyical therapy. Ok.I thought I was going to have the nice guy, um I got the weird guy. That guy has 2 speeds,slow and drinking my coffee slow.Gheesh. Then as I pull into the parking lot I see a mercedes with a license plate abbreviated that said/meant -I deserve it. Um, this guy seems full of it. I just dont like his personality. I think the guy I like was on vacation, oh well its back to Mr. Coffee on friday. I did get my hours worth though. Also I never observed him washing his hands once etc. The other guy did. Tonight I have a school board meeting. I am getting tired.

Anyway, Murphy law is in my life. My son sprained his wrist in his self defense class. But he is a yellow belt now! My husbands truck broke down today and we had it towed to a shop today. All this 7 days prior my trip. I am so down. We will have less spending money. This new meds I am taking now makes me sick. My insurance won't cover one of my medications I had been taken and now they changed to a new one. Hate it. Our bank was taken over by a new bank and during the transfer they lost $500. and thus bounced checks. It took my DH all evening to resolve this. We have to go into the bank tomorrow.


Jacks I am packed but a few minor things. I am just so down. Sorry I am such a downer. GAGTWA

Am sending you lots of Pixie Dust!!! You can get the tea at the Grand Floridian and the tea shop in England and DTD at the big store. I hope you get everything straight at the bank. They should reimburse you for the bounced checks. Been there before.

LMP, it sounds like a successful doctor visit. I am glad he is pleased with the wound healing. Does he ask the on the scale of 1 to 10 question about the pain? I just hate that one.

I am glad he went ahead and ordered the cat scan. Hopefully it will be sooner than later.

I am glad you are not letting the attitude of the therapist keep yu from amking the most of your seesions. Are you wiped afterward?

Candy, you are due for some good luck. Not sure when. I am sorry your DH's truck is incapacipated. We had a small bill recently on what we thought was going to be an expensive electrical problem with DS21's car. So you never know, maybe you will get a pleasant surprise? I sure hope so.

At least when you are in WDW you can forget these trials for awhile. Which med is making you sick and when did you start on it? You may want to call the doctor's office. Can they substitute something else?

Oh I have so many questions. I must have pent up energy from being glued to my desk all day.

You guessed it. . . payroll day, my favorite.

Good to see you post, Barbara. If this upcoming trip gets derailed, maybe I can reschedule for January?

Happy Birthday Laurie!!!

Just checking in aagain. My biopsy is a week from tomorrow. I am not really that scared of the procedure, more of the results then anything. I don't have a gut feeling either way.

I have been knocking out alot of home improvement projects just in case though. We put new flooring in my moms room, next is my sons. We also got some COOL furniture for my son that is retro and needs to be sanded and stained. I am hoping to have this all done by the time my biopsy comes. I am not sure how realistic that is??
