We were also feeling this way last year. DD did not get into UF which she had wanted since she was in elementary school. She is now going to her second choice, UCF, which is only two hours away and makes her able to come home to see me once a month. It would be much harder to do from Gainesville which is almost four hours away. At the time, I told her everything happens for a reason and she is fine with the way things turned out.

As for the Tag Fairy, I used to reply to lots of threads on the CB particularly the music threads. After imparting my vast useless knowledge regarding David Cassidy and Bobby Sherman on several occasions, I suddenly had a new tag.

You never know when or where she is going to show up. . .

Fireworks change from the middle/early June to middle of August I think. Main Street Electrical Parade is coming back to WDW (about the same time)

Laurie - the MSEP has different music and floats than Spectro. The technology on the floats is a lot like the floats in the EWP (Electrical Water Pageant). The music has a very distinctive sound, too. I prefer the MSEP because it is the parade of my youth whereas my kids prefer Spectro since that has been around for more of their lifetimes.

MSELP left WDW again in 4/1/2001 going to DL where its been and Spectro came in its place. Dont recall if Spectro was around before that time or not.

ack, SO very tired of typing posts and losing them here on the DIS. ...I have been giving up lately. I am still in a funk after the last 2 weeks back at work after my trip and father's death.

But I want to tell you I have been trying to read and keep up and keeping you close in my heart!!

And also, I am planning a trip back to WDW in July, quite possibly solo, to meet up with some dear old friends.

Avery is CANCER FREE!

After almost four years, Avery has finally finished his chemotherapy and other treatments, and now is considered cancer free. While we could never repay all of you for the kindness, support and love that you have shown us during this time, we would really love to share in a celebration of thanks with all of you.

Please join us on March 19th, at Pat's Peak at 5:00 p.m., for a special Celebration of Thanks! We will have music, dancing, cake, and lots of family fun, celebrating this new journey we are now on, and to try and express our thanks and gratefulness to each of you for all you have meant to us.

There have been many people who have shared in our journey, many of whom we have never met...please spread the word that ALL are invited. If you have friends who have been part of our journey, encourage them to come! If for some reason, either you or someone you know, is unable to attend in person, we will have a special message board to post letters, cards or emails, if anyone would like to send them ahead of time. The restaurant at Pat's Peak, as well as the cash bar, will be open for anyone who would like to purchase meals or drinks during the party.

What else do you need to know? Nazzy, the popular DJ from WJYY in Concord, will be mc'ing this great event, so you can bet that he and Avery have some fun contests, games and mischief cooked up! Be ready for fun!

During his treatment, Avery has become a big supporter of CHaD, and has really taken this time to give back, in thanks for all CHaD has done for us. To support the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD) and Kristen's Gift (a nonprofit charity that provides support to the pediatric oncology department at CHaD) consider creating a snowboard or ski "team", and raising money for CHaD! During the day of March 19th, Pat's Peak will be hosting a special fundraiser in celebration of Avery's journey. Ann, wonderful news about Avery!!!

Crossing my fingers that everyone waiting for these darn letters gets good news soon!!

No letter for us today, so we have reset the countdown clock. Hopefully we will hear something Monday. Hopefully we will hear something GOOD on Monday.

I talked to my mom today. She is going to volunteer to be a survivor mentor. Which surprises me, because she didn't want anyone to help her through her own treament. She didn't want to be in a group, or have a mentor, or anything that remotely resembled any sort of support. But I am pleased that she will be doing this. She also wants to volunteer at a little resale shop run by the hospice. (I think it is the hospice. I could be wrong.) She and my sister leave for the band trip to New York on Wednesday. Hopefully they will have decent weather!

Elizabeth, your mom should receive a lot of pleasure with mentoring. I think this is a very positive while surprising step for her.

Keeping that pixie dust flying for Monday! I know it is hard to be psyched up for the letter only to not receive anything Saturday, and then still being on standby until at least Monday. Waiting is hard.

I am under husband's orders to not do yard work or house work today and rest and try to get over my cold. Mom has it too. I guess we got it towards the end of our trip.

I am going to try and post some pictures today. They are loaded, I just need to cull through them. I think I may need another camera.

Ann- Wonderful news about Avery!

Laurie and Sha - Spectro Magic actually made its first appearance at WDW on October 1, 1991 for the 20th Anniversary Celebration. The MSEP ran from June 1977 until September 1991 and returned for a brief engagement during the Millennium Celebration with its last performance in 2001.

Yes I did that last October. Really enjoyed it. Going to videotape Wishes from a different view for sake of having it. Will also try from Poly Beach and hopefully a room at BLT if I can before they go.... at least I hope to. (Even if its temporary.... they could change their minds)
