 Are you doing the heated version of IP chemo? How is it instilled? (If you don't mind me asking. I have a friend I just talked to a few days ago who may be looking at this as well.)

No, I don't mind you asking questions. I wish I could find someone who could answer some of my questions, lol.

After the Cisplatin is mixed and bagged, the chemo nurse wraps the bag in a heating pad until they are ready to start administering it. I haven't felt any cramping during that infusion, thus far, and I've had four rounds. I have the Taxol first through my IV port and then the Cisplatin immediately after that through the IP port which is near the top of my rib cage on my left side.

You poor thing. :grouphug: Thank you for answering. I hope you are dreaming of beautiful things during these infusions!

Lisa - you are such an inspiration to me with all you go through. I hope you are listening to some great tunes on your i pod too during your treatment.

Typing while holding an ice pack on my neck.

Got to see the surgeon and my favorite np. He thinks it could be an infection but I insisted he do a fine needle biopsy. He says its not acting like cancer. He was happy that my last cancer blood levels were good, He says its a grade 2 lymph node. He is trying avelox antibiotic and I have to go back mon if they get the path back.

Then the dr, asks me, so what do you think this is? I wanted to slap him one. I said well you said I am full of surprises, so here is one, He is also considering an ultrasound or ct scan, depending on what is happening.

Then I see the dr, who saved my life. If the other giy wasnt there I would have wanted to hug him and say thanks again for saving my life.

So its wait and see right now and no, I wont bleed until I am shot:)

I hope the antibiotics kicks these thing so to speak, MaryAnn. I am sure it is difficult waiting in pain like you are. The surgeon sounds very strange, asking you what you think it is.

Lisa, wow a suite at the Beach club, I can only imagine. I liked the regular room way more than I thought I would.

I bet you are missing your DD something awful. I am sorry you weren't up to do more while she was home, but I bet watching movies together was enjoyable.

I hope you Ds blows them away at AIE. Please let us know what he ends up singing and what the outcome in. Love his song choices for Solo and Ensemble.

I am sorry this IP chemo is so hard for you. Especially after just finishing the earlier rounds, the effect must just build up, even with different combinations of drugs. You are past the half way mark with 4 rounds out of 6, that ain't bad, sista. Hang in there, you may one of the ones who can go the distance.

:sunny:Good morning ladies

Lisa - how is your appetite. Hope you can find something you like. Wishing your ds good luck with AI at DHS. I cant believe that suite either. Must have been amazing. What movies did your watch with your dd? I was just telling dh there really is not any movie I even want to see that interests me.

Laurie - hope things work out with your bro. I am sure its stressful on your whole family

smiley - how are you feeling?

marci and cheryl - hope you trips are great

well the lymph node has decreased dramatically in size. I can actually feel the antibiotic in my neck working like 3 hours after I take it. Strange feeling. I still have weird feeling/swelling areas closer to my jaw. if that still keeps up I think I would make sure to tell him to do the ultrasound or ct scan.

Ds got the official acceptance letter yest. That was so nice!

GTAGWTA. Have a great day everyone.

Great thread Linda and fantastic pictures. My pictures won't measure up to yours. You went and set the bar too high, lol.

I am glad the abscess is shrinking, Maryann. We gotta get you healthy before your trip.

Where is everybody?

And luck of the Irish to you!

Good afternoon ladies

Well I was in the shower, but the nurse practicioner called and left a message that the biopsy was negative - Praise God, no cancer.

I called back. We are playing phone tag. I asked if I should refill the antibiotic and does he still want to see me monday etc. My neck still feels weird for sure.

How does everyone deal with all the psycho. stuff associated. I always put the cancer in the back of my mind until another test etc. comes up. Maybe its still too new to me to be able to handle it etc.

I need to destress myself. I think I will have dh take me out to dinner since the ds will be scattered around. I will make them something they can help themselves to.

GTAGWTA. Have a great week end everyone.

MaryAnn - Thrilled for your good news! As for the psychological stuff, everyone has to deal with it their own way. I dread all the tests, but try not to think about them. I am normally a very positive person and have been for the past two years through all of this. That said, unfortunately cancer is the first thing I think about when I wake up and it's the last thing I think about when I go to sleep at night.

DH and DS just left for the Mouse House. I miss them already. :sad1:

Good news about the path report,
Maryann! Hope you enjoy a nice dinner out. Very generous of you to cook for your sons. We are going to celebrate my friend's Cindy's birthday tomorrow night at an upscale sushi place with a great view of the river tomorrow night. As far as dealing with the cancer thing- in a nutshell-MASSAGE!!!!

Hope you are able to join them next time, Lisa. Is your son going to audition for AIE?

Yes, Laurie, he is - tomorrow. He's been practicing since November when we were last there. I sure hope he nails the audition this time!

Lisa - I hope your ds makes it. This was my ds experience. He did it last year on his senior trip. One of the girls with him professionally has a cd, just christian music. She was on the worship team at the school etc. and now goes to some christian college where she is on the worship team. Right now they are in NY singing. She is good. Very good.

They said ds had great enthusiam etc. but no way. His friend D. on the other hand, was picked. Ds got to watch her perform on stage. Ds also saw (his description) a really big fat guy singing. But "mom, when I heard this guy open his mouth and start singing, I knew there was no way D. was gonna win.
I think that guy did end up winning.

I think you should be proud of your son Lisa. Just even having the opportunity to try out is amazing I think.

I agree with MaryAnn. Also, just to have the guts to get up there and audition, actually both Lisa and MaryAnn's sons. Do they audition on the same stage that they have the show on?

I was leaning towards picking up boiled crawfish for dinner (it is that time of the year here), even the pick up to go places are jammed, so early in Lent. We are being good instead and having omelettes tonight.

And I am loving my Red Stripe Jamaican beer right now.

I had a fun day trying to get ahead of myself at work, have finished all my records reconstruction EXCEPT payroll, and am trying to get the financails to agree to what they should be. I am seeing stars or rather just a blur.

Good thing tomorrow is Saturday.

When we went in November, the judge said he was just about there but not quite. He told him a couple of things he needed to work on and he has been. I think that his doing Solo & Ensemble last weekend really gave him a confidence boost. He is very positive about his chances tomorrow. I hope he makes it, too, since DD is going for a summer job at WDW and he won't be able to audition anymore once she gets hired.

Good afternoon ladies

smiley - thinking of you. How are your treatments going?

Lisa - what area is your dd giong to be working at in WDW?

Linda - enjoyed your pictures. I am sure baseball is ruling this week end.

Laurie - have a great dinner with your friend.

Well I am still playing phone tag. The only message I got from the surgeon was his surgery scheduler, gosh, I dont even think that lady is a nurse, just telling me to keep taking the antibiotic. I am assuming he still wants to see me monday.

Lisa and Cheryl - I thought of your dd's as ds19 said he listened to the WDW college program rep make a presentation at his college a few days ago. I know he is only interested in either lifeguarding or childrens stuff. He said the girl said stuff like you might be serving chicken for 9 hours, but its wonderful because you are an important part of making someones vacation special etc. I have to talk to him more. Someone one was selling Girl Scout cookies at ds work, so I got 4 boxes.

The weather is beautiful here and of course I am not suppose to be out in the sun alot. I was in the car with my jacket on, so at least my arms are covered. That is where I got the red blotchy rash last last time from the antibiotic. Gas is $3.69 a gallon here, wow! Worse the airline tickets for our trip are now like $600, I was holding out for a lower price and its just going up. I am not liking Southwest right now. I guess I will just have to book it soon and deal with it.

GTAGWTA.

Well, I heard from DS - he did not make it again. This judge told him his singing was excellent, but that he needed to work on style. Last weekend at Solo & Ensemble, they told him just the opposite. He is frustrated, but anxious to go back again for another tryout. I think he has to wait 30 days for that.

DD has not been hired by Disney yet. She is going to the Casting Center next week armed with several referrals from friends of ours. She doesn't want to do the CP since she already lives in Orlando and she recently found out that Disney only has unpaid internships this year. So, she is just going to apply for a part-time job in the Magic Kingdom. She has an excellent work record, so she is fairly confident about being hired. We'll see.

DD is over at the Dark Side today visiting IOA Harry Potter for the first time. I've been getting lots of interesting texts, photos and phone calls. I'm glad she's having a good time. She is meeting up with DH & DS tomorrow in the Magic Kingdom for the day. The house is quiet, but I'm glad they're all having fun.

Good morning ladies

Lisa - sorry about your ds and AI. I am thinking like my son and the college, if at lst you dont succeed, try, try again. And I am glad your ds wants to try again too. Wishing him all the best. Would it make a diference if he tried on the week end versus a week day. I know our ds and friend was a week day during the senior trip. Hope your appetite is getting better too.

Hope everyone else is doing o.k. The thread is a little quiet.

Yest. I went to the ENT surgeon for a check up. He said my biopsy results showed no thyroid cancer, leukemia or lymphoma. He is sending notes to the rad. onc. and endo about this incident. He said come back in 3 weeks so he can check it again, but he is pleased that it is so much better.

Dh leaves thurs. night for a week in San Fran. and Seattle, comes home for 2 days and then goes for a week in Beijing. I am so not liking this.

Sat. I think I will get the blood test, then the B12 shot the next friday.

GTAGWTA. Hope everyone is doing well.
