Thanks Ladies!!!! And I was at WDW when I found out!!!!!! Heading to bed now... go back home tomorrow sometime. Oh! I learned that the little mailing center (DTD) in the Art of Disney is being moved but they do not know where to :confused3 . A CM told me that they are putting in TShirts there ???

Sha!! How wonderful, and what a great place to get the news!!:thumbsup2

I'm wiped from shopping with DD yesterday....literally for 8 hours, combing the Mall and discount stores for a reasonable basic working wardrobe for her. :faint:
We did well: 2 skirts, one pair dress pants, a sweater, 3 or 4 blouses/tops, one dress, 2 pair of comfortable dress shoes (black and brown), and a cute pair of fun plastic rain/snow galoshes. Oh and also a prefessionally fitted mucho $$ bra at a new specialty bra store in town. All for about $250. She has a couple of pair of other pants and a couple of jackets, some tops and a basic black dress that she's gotten for interviewing to round things out. So she's in good shape now, considering she's lived mostly in jeans and t-shirts and sweats for the last 4 years :) It was fun, got some good deals... but tiring. Kept me from dwelling ont he fact that yesterday my mom would have been 82, our first birthday without her. :sad1:
We hope to go apple-picking today! :goodvibes

GAGWTA!!

Ann  that must be so hard. I forgot to mention before that one of my neices also graduated this year and started her first job this summer doing something similar to what your your DD is doing! She's "not loving working 40 hrs" :rotfl: but she likes the job. She's working with developmentally delayed children in a school, I thought she said asst speech pathologist (her degree is in speech pathology). :goodvibes

Ann

I think apple picking is a great idea!

Am packing my things up so I can check out... I will be back in about 2 weeks I think for the RFTC weekend. Looking forward to that. Before I leave I may go over to the viewing area of DVC and see first hand what the sample rooms look like. (I eventually need more points)

 I know how you feel. Today would have been my mom's 70th birthday. We went to church this morning. I am so depressed.

Ann & Maureen :grouphug: Birthdays are hard.

Congrats Sha! :yay:

Busy, busy, busy here with wedding details....three more weeks. :bride: DD24 was here for the weekend for her final fitting, some follow up appt. with vendors, and a bunch of shopping for all sorts of detail stuff. She wont be back again until the wedding. I've got a ton of stuff to work on, but it's nice to be involved, and it's been pretty hetic for her trying to get everything coordinated from such a distance. She lives in Boston, the wedding is in Chicago, which is still about 2 hours from our house, so even when she comes "home" to tend to details, it's still from a distance.

Here's a pic I took to hopefully help us remember how the dress is supposed to look when it comes time to do the bustle for the reception.

I hope everybody is having a good weekend....GAGWTA!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes

Maureen

Cheryldan, your DD looks beautiful in her dress! And see you taking the photo :)

Duplicate post.... so will add that I did not go to the DVC preview area to see the new BLT rooms. Will in 2 weeks maybe. Am home... had a good... GREAT weekend! And I will be back in about 2 weeks!!!

Ann and Maureen, my thoughts are with both of you. I am sorry that you are blue on your moms' first birthday since you lost them.

Cheryl, your daughter is lovely. I hope you enjoy every special moment of that wedding. How esciting it must be!!.

Good for you Sha for spying Cheryl taking the picture. Your eyes are stronger than mine, they went right over it until you pointed it out and I focused.

Busy soccer weekend. Then we helped our niece Jennifer move some things into my MIL's house. She was so not ready (boxes not packed) but I guess it is understandable considering her 80 hour work schedule as a resident. Also, her significant other is less than thrilled about moving. It is still so isolated in that neighborhood, and at their current apartment, they can walk to lots of stuff.

I think we are too old to help anyone move. The stairs in that apartment were old, winding and narrow. Getting old sure sucks.

Hoping my mom gets her results back today. Waiting for results is another thing that sucks.

Sha, do they already have the models open for BLT? That is amazing. Which DVC do you usually stay at?

Laura, getting ready for the trip? I haven't started packing even though we are supposed to leave a week from tomorrow. I need to know mom's situation before I can relax.

Laurie

Cheryl was hiding in the corner! LOL

I am thinking they do have the models open, because of the travel channel special the other night, they were showing the rooms. Also they called my room to say that the SSR had sold out and that they are now selling BLT to DVC owners. I own currently at SSR and AKV. I am wanting BLT badly... but spend lot of stays at OKW and BCV. I plan to buy more and more... LOL! I am already into my 2009 use year and havent started my 2008 use year yet! (thankful mom bought at AKV too)

CherylDan- Your dd is a gorgeous bride! :bride: Love the dress!

Sha- Congratulations!!!party: :jumping1: :woohoo: :cheer2:
I love that you got the news while you were immersed in the magic!:wizard:

Ann & Maureen:hug:

JSG- How is your mom doing now? I went back and read about her first Taxol and how she's wishing she hadn't started treating the cancer. It's true, for most of us, we felt fine before treatment started and for me anyway, it kicked my butt. Your mom is at a low point, I was there when I made the switch to Taxol too. I tried to keep in mind that chemo is not the enemy, cancer is, and tried to focus on caring for myself, healing and being well in the future.
I'm really glad your sister has a job...hope she keeps it!

Laurie- Will they give your mom her report over the phone or does she have an appt.? I can't remember how many days you are planning to stay at WDW. I do hope you are able to go, even if (God forbid) your mom doesn't get good news. You have been through so much lately and I know you and your hubby could use some pixie dust.pixiedust:

I just started packing- lightly! I am only doing carry ons, I'm sick of them losing my bags! My kids refuse to take any time off school- they do not take after their mother on this one!:confused3 So we leave for WDW Friday evening. Sat. we are going to MK. It's open until midnight, so we'll take a nice long afternoon break. Sun. is hubby's birthday. We are going to Typhoon Lagoon and just beaching for the day. Then we have reservations at our favorite CA Grill for dinner. Then Mon. it's Epcot and the Food & Wine festival!:yay: Our flight home is Tue. afternoon so I think we'll spend the morning shopping...hubby will be thrilled.:rolleyes1 He's doing well, went back to work today. I have my onc check up Thur. afternoon. I'm expecting good news!
:grouphug:

Wow, Laura, it is so good to hear such an upbeat post from you. Glad things are returning somewhat to normal for you.

I am sorry you are not extending your stay. I understand though and there will be other trips as we like to say.

Your trip plans sound wonderful. I know you will enjoy.

Mom's surgeon told me/us she would call as soon as she had the report. She may have had it Friday, who knows, :confused3 , but she is not in the office on Friday. I am trying to tell myself that it is good that the report hasn't come back quickly, that they streamline the bad news and the benign news come after. I like to talk to myself, apparently.

I feel very nervous about when the call comes. I know how I felt when I received my call four years ago but I have too much to do to just stay at mom's house waiting for it.

We are supposed to stay for 6 nights, which seems alot right now. Yes, we do need some time for just the two of us. I realize more with each day that we are neglecting each other and ourselves for everyone else. There just does not seem to be much choice though. There are endless opportunities for disagreement, we just manage to manage it somehow.

I am also sleeping in crazy short bouts. Not sure why but I wake up with a different dram every 1-1/12 hours during the night and watch the clock move. Maybe too much having to wake up early, with the two surgeries back to back during the week, and the two days of early soccer games during the weekend. I am tempted to take a Benedryl or two tonight to see if I can extend my sleeping a bit.

Laurie- This is what I'm looking forward to most...just being together, RELAXING, having FUN, enjoying each other. Sounds heavenly, doesn't it?:cloud9: Our kids have a retreat coming up in Nov. so hubby and I will have a whole weekend alone!:woohoo:

I have a script for Ambien, but actually prefer OTC Unisom. I only needed it when I was on Prednisone, but wouldn't hesitate to use it if I was having a bout of bad sleep.

I hope your mom's results come in today.

GAGWTA, Ladies!

Cheryl, your DD is lovely! :goodvibes How exciting to have all the details coming together for the wedding!

Maureen - It must have been a difficult weekend for you!

Ann - Hugs to you, too!

Sha - I think the BLT models are open. Someone posted pics of them on the DVC forum.

Laurie - I hope you get good news for your mom today so you can start packing! :wizard: Hopefully your insomnia issues will resolve once you know your mom is OK!

Laura - My mom sounded like she was in a much better frame of mind when I talked to her on Saturday. She was actually feeling OK, which surprised me. On the other hand, the AC really kind of snuck up on her at the end, so she may not feel the Taxol for a few more weeks.
I am so glad your trip plans are all set! Yay for DH feeling better! :yay: Good luck at your appt. on Thursday!! :wizard:

I'm glad your mom is feeling better about things. I hope the weekly Taxol has fewer side effects for her.

Thanks! She was saying how she had counted out the weeks on the calendar and she'll be finished before Christmas, so maybe that is helping her feel a little better about the treatment. I fully expect her to have a few weeks off between the end of Taxol and the beginning of radiation, so that should be good, too. And really, by mid-February she should be completely finished except for taking Arimidex. She is at the halfway mark - she is about 6 months in (from when she was diagnosed) and has another 5-6 months to go before she can get on with living cancer free. I just think she would be doing better if she was in a support group or seeing a counselor or getting some sort of help dealing with everything.
