You remain very much in our thoughts and prayers, Beth. I will stop into the chapel at work tonight to ask for special blessings, and I will post your name on the bulletin board there where lots of people will see it and offer prayers, too. :grouphug:

My husband Dan had to go to the ER with chest pains yesterday afternoon. His EKG was abnormal so they are keeping him overnight to do blood work and possibly a stress test today. He is in the hospital where my sister is a cardiac nurse, so he's in good hands. I'd appreciate your prayers for him...I'll update when I can.

Beth- Covering you in prayer sista...

Prayers on the way for your DH, too, Laura. Let me know if I can help in any way. :grouphug:

Last night was a very somber drive into work. :( I imagine everyone else here had a difficult night, too? Thinking of and praying for you, Beth. :grouphug:

Oh, Beth........Sending you ((hugs)) and prayers.

Laura, I'm praying for Dan, too.

Ok, this is a tough morning.

I woke up thinking of Beth, then after checking in here, I have added Dan to my prayers.

These situation make everything else pale in comparison.

beth, sorry just doesn't sound like enough, but it is all i have, that and my prayers and thoughts.

laura- glad that your sister is there, having someone on the "inside" is always a plus. he is in my prayers as well. keep us updated!!

all of this sure puts my situation into a whole different perspective, still scared as heck but, nothing like these levels. i am humbled.

Holding you all close in my heart this morning... :grouphug:

will be praying for Dan and Beth :grouphug:

Wendie, do hope the results are good. I know with Marie, she has had several biopisies in recent years, all negative, and all a worry while waiting. Having your hubby there would be a great help, in my opinion, two are better than one.

Luara, sure hope Dan is okay, and nothing serious there. Good they kept him over.

And Beth, what can I say? You remain in my prayers, do hope the results of the further scans are on the better side.

All you guys, as I have said before, are in my prayers, always.'s

I'm adding my prayers and good thoughts for Dan and Beth, too. :grouphug:

Sometimes we have to take it one day at a time (or one minute at a time) and put one foot in front of the other. And lean on those around you when that gets to be too tough.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, Beth.

They can do such amazing things with heart problems now, I hope Dan will be okay as well.

Does anyone who knows Beth IRL have an update? I've been praying for her today and am hoping for the best in her treatment.

Laura, any news on Dan? I hope he's doing OK.

((Wendie)), all the best to you!

A bit of an update (good) on Beth. She just sent me this to update the post I put on the board. Thought it good to put here first.

.....Just got off the phone with my oncologist and the bloodwork from this morning shows my tumor markers to be normal! It's a tiny bit of good news, but I'll take all I can get. Not sure what the next steps will be. Jim called Sloan-Kettering this morning and we're checking into that and MD Anderson in Houston, as his brother lives there. I will do whatever it takes to kill this beast!!! Many, many thanks for all you've done for me. Keep those prayers a comin'!!!!!!! ...

So, some good news from Beth, but still a road ahead.

Thanks for the update Dan Murphy! Of course will continue to keep Beth in my prayers.

Hoping for an update on Laura's Dan with some good news too.

GAGWTA......

Beth, cyber hugs for you. :grouphug: I am glad that there was some good news.
Laurabelle, prayers and hugs for your husband too. He is lucky to have someone close to him to help at the hospital.
Ann, glad you have been able to sleep. Rest is probably what you need now to heal.

Love, prayers, and hugs to all.
Donna

Thanks for the update, Dan. Every bit of good news is something to hold on to. I hope that the good news continues to come.

Laura, I hope all is OK with Dan tonight.

:grouphug: to all!

dan thank you for the update on beth!! any bit of silver lining she needed to hear today!!
prayers sent again to help her with her battle of the beast!!

still hoping for some news on laura's dan.....prayers sent for them as well!

to all who have thought of myself, thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart.

i tried to get an earlier appt with the surgeon for when ds is in school but no luck, as the are closed on friday, and are at the hosptial until after 1pm. (to get one around that time is almost a 5 week wait and i just can't do that, and besides ds would get home while i was gone ugh)
sooo what we will do is ds and dh will wait in the waiting room while i have my exam, and then depending on what the dr has to say i will have dh come in, and ds can wait in the waiting room with his gameboy(sound OFF) and a book.

just confused as to why nothing will show on the ultra sound but, lumps in each breast can be felt. (though barely right now due to my "cycle") mind games mind game mind games.................

may you all have a peaceful night
wendie

A little bit more from Beth.........

.........Apparently, none of my "stuff" is nice and cut and dried. argh! From what I can gather, today's findings should mean that the lymph nodes and nodule in the abdomen are not cancerous, BUT we still don't know if the lung cancer is mets or not. Maybe we'll get more info. tomorrow. I'm not sure if they will want to biopsy the abdomen and lymph nodes or not or if I will let them before getting a second opinion from Sloan. It's quite a rollercoast! Thanks so much!..........

:flower3:~~~***GAGWTA sistas***~~~ :flower3:

Dan is home! All the tests/blood work came out well. There was still a funky blip on his EKG (the cardiologist speculated that it may be because of the position of his heart??? But during his annual physicals they never mentioned it...the man is NEVER sick! He has to make an appt. with the cardiologist to have a 24 hr heart monitor put on and do another stress test. He had a very rapid heart rate in the hospital, even at rest. No clear answers yet as to the cause. He was sent home last night, no meds, no restrictions. They even told him he could go to work today - HA! I'm keeping him here close to me and taking care of him for the rest of the week...so I might not be around much the next few days, though I'm hoping to be at my local support group Thur. night and Komen champagne brunch for volunteers on Sunday.
Thanks so much for the prayers sistas!
BTW- I'm still doing great! Praising God for my healing and the prayers of many!!!
I'll see my G.I. doc on Friday and can share with him too! :Pinkbounc

Dan- Thanks so much for the updates on Beth...it helps me to pray specifically for her. SMK & MDA are great choices! I know there are alot of hospitals that don't use tumor markers for "screening" since they are notoriously inaccurate. But from what I've read, if they are accurate at all it is during a time like this so I will take that as good news. Do you have Beth's home address? I'd love to send her something. Could you PM me or email me if you do? I'm sure some of the other GAGWTA sistas would like to send her a little love too...

Holding you all close in thoughts and prayers... :grouphug:
