DIS Boards Show Response: Tower of Terror Lovers Unite!

Love it too!!
Slightly prefer the Disneyland Paris version (not even sure why, the fleeting glances at Sleeping Beauty's Castle as the 'doors' open before you drop) but love both :)

:goodvibes

See, I don't like the DLP and DLC versions, as they always have exactly the same amount of drops every time, and therefore predicable. WDW is randomised, so you never know how many you'll get!

On my last day I got to HS before rope drop for the sole purpose of riding ToT as many times as I could. Since TSM was still drawing the crowds, ToT was practically a walk on. And on my second ride, I had an elevator all to myself! Definitely a great experience for Tower lovers :) I do think part of the fun of that ride is the reaction of other riders (yeah, I'm looking at you big tough guys who scream like little girls), so it was a bit weird to be the only one screaming, but definitely an unforgetable experience. I am kicking myself that I didn't buy the photo afterwards...but I was too focused on getting back in line!

Ok, I am stupidly jealous about that!! I would love to do it solo!

TOT is my absolute favourite ride at WDW, but I do enjoy R'n'R!

i adore ToT!!! we ride it multiple times each trip - trying to do something stupidly different each time (e.g., all of us reading books next to each other, playing cards, arms up (duh), etc etc)...

back when it first opened and it had only one drop, DD, DS and i rode it 17 times in a row!!!! we just kept running around and around....
it was in the evening, when everyone else was waiting for Fantasmic....there was no line at all.....we just had to run from the exit back to the entrance....i don't recall how long it took us but it was a blast!!!

there were other people doing the same thing and we ended up riding most of those 17 times together with them...

the CMs were hysterical as they realized what we were doing and got more and more into it - each time embellishing what they said to us before and while the doors closed....getting us to scream in laughter...

of course, with the multiple drops the ride now has there is no way on earth we would survive 17 rides of this thing....the most i can manage in a row now is 2....maybe possibly 3.....but that's it at one time...

by the way, i can't ride RnRC - motion sickness due to the barrel roll...

In May 2008 I did a mostly-solo trip for 5 days and rode it 15 times! It's definitely a ride I do at least 3 times in a row when I go. I also go the end of the night when you can just get off and right back on. One night the CM even let us skip the movie and go right through :) T of T and Soarin' are my 2 must do over and over rides!!

Like Julie, I must ride ToT several times during one trip! I rode five times a week ago. :rotfl:

I love ToT, too. I can ride it multiple times just like I do on Everest.

That's me too! I absolutely *HATE* RnR! It hurts my ears and neck for some reason.

I like RnR, but it gives me a headache, so I tend not to ride it very often. I think it is some of the jerky motion of the ride and the type of restraint system it has, combined with the blaring music in your ears.

April Fool's Day last year I was on ToT. We went up and down and I thought it was over. They brought us to the bottom and the lights flickered like they do when it's over. Then, everything went pitch black...no movement...after about a minute of wondering what was going on we went up and down at least six more times! It was hysterical!!!

We are registered for the ToT AP event next month at DHS. It will be held on Friday the 13th. I hope they will have some special sequences in mind.

I've got to agree that the ToT is wonderfully themed. I can't believe the amount of detail they put into just the queue area.

But I will say that I'm not thrilled with the actual ride. That's just me in that I'm not a thrill ride kind of person. So I'll often (but not always) pass up this attraction.

Dh and I love TOT and enjoy riding it multiple times. If the park is not busy we'll get off and get right back on. :goodvibes
