DIS boards pet peeves

1. Posters who share a user name. I hate trying to figure out who's the one posting.

2. Inside jokes that only those who spend a lot of time posting understand.

What bugs me is when someone says what they paid for a room and don't include the tax. The tax is part of the room cost. It's something like 12%.

I hate peeve threads that turn into something where no matter what a person does, it's WRONG to somebody.

"I hate slow walkers!"
"I hate fast walkers!"

"You're rude because you don't use a grocery divider!"
"You're rude because you use a grocery divider!"

Okay, I'll just crawl into my little hole now -- will that make everybody happy? :rotfl2:

Oh, and my peeve?

Grammar correctors! Sheesh, calm down, we're all adults here and we're not being graded on our posts. Heh, and I'M going to be an English teacher! I also hate it when people post dictionary definitions to reinforce their point.

Picking apart other posters grammar and spelling. I notice it too but is it really necessary to point it out in a post??

Okay. Not that I ever comment it, but I do hate bad spelling, not getting the names of things right and really bad grammar. It's not that I'm perfect, but I used to work for a newspaper and have become very efficient at picking out errors. I will never correct anyone, but it does annoy me.

Reading a question or comment and saying to myself: "oohh, that is something I want to put my Two cents worth in!!" and realizing there are 10 or 15 pages of coments..................
geesh, forget it now, it's already been addressed or discussed to death.
geesh.

Or people who 'judge' people they hardly know.

Posts that slam you for being cranky not realizing that by slamming you, they're being cranky too. :lmao:

My one pet peeve on here is when brazilian tour groups get bashed. Yes, they are loud and "take over" but you put together any 10-15+ teenagers from ANY country and they will do the same thing.

ITA, if you read several pages of posts and what you want to say has already been said 10 times, why post? Yes I am doing it with this post, but it is a peeve thread so I think it is okay.

It really bugs me when this :rotfl2: is used to imply that a post is stupid. That used to be one of my favorite smilies but not anymore.

People who ask for life changing advice from anonymous total strangers on a discussion board.

Ditto. At another board I post at this guy was going on and on about how his wife cheated on him blah blah blah. There are professional counsellors for that!

My biggest one right now: the title will say something like "I had the WORST most scary day EVER" then they say they don't want to talk about it or give details. Ummmm, you posted why??

OOOH, that is annoying! Why do people do that? :confused3 I had to throw that smiley in, I couldn't resist. ;)

People that type all their posts like this...no punctuation at all...just dots...I mean how old were we in school when we learned about punctuation....come on now...

Also people that type sentences in a list.
You know when it's not in paragraph form.
It just seems like work when you post something this way.
You know what I mean?

Paragraph breaks are also a good thing!!

These thing don't "ruin my day," just cause a little  now and then.

Posters who obviously don't care for something:

All Star Resorts
Disney's Magical Express
Children
WalMart

or whatever, but still feel the need to post on EVERY thread they come across on those subjects.

Run on pharagraphs -
break it down make it easier to skim through for the important details ;)
