Well this is a little bit of a rant, but I think that this needs to be posted. When I send a pm to someone, maybe it's me, but I kind of expect a reply back. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the second that I send a pm I expect an answer back, that's not what I'm saying. But when I see on my pm reciepts that out of 3, I have 0 unread pm's, which i sent last week, and none of the three have responded, I will get a little irked. I very much make sure that my box is cleaned out enough for people who will pm me, so that's not an excuse. I'm not saying that you have to listen to me, I'm just saying that I believe it is just courteous to respond to someone when they send or ask you a question. In the case of trades especially.. If the answer is no to the offer, just send a simple pm to say that the answer is no. If I send an offer to someone and they don't respond, I don't know whether the answer is yes or no. Not knowing if you have a deal or not definitely effects the trades I make. If someone has a really good offer for something you have, but you were going to trade that item to someone else who never responded, it puts you in a hard position. Go with the good deal and risk that another person being mad that you traded away the item that they really did want, but never responded to the pm to? Or go with someone who waits weeks before giving you an answer and having an item burning a hole in you pocket? I'm just throwing this out there because I see it becoming a problem more and more everyday.

I'd have to say if you aren't given the courtesy of a reply, you are free to persue other trades with your items. If the original non-communicative trader contacts you and gets upset, well, they clearly could have contacted you in a timely fashion, now couldn't they?

I agree, the simple thing to do is reply, not ignore, but sometimes things get accidentally deleted or misread. Not that this is happening every time. . .mostly it's folks who want to keep you hanging in trades or aren't polite enough to take 30 seconds to say "Thanks but no thanks."

I would like to second the need to follow through on trades. I have had three trades in the past month that have not happened because the other trader simply didn't respond or stopped responding.

IMHO, after a trade is agreed upon and accepted, both traders need to make the effort to follow through with the trade.

I know what you mean. I have several trades that have fallen through, and personal PM's that aren't responded to. It annoys me just a bit.
