Well sort of- A few from this morning anyway. I met up with Ed (YEKCIM) while he was here in Clearwater on vacation for a few days and snapped a couple pictures around sunrise. Super nice guy in person (as he is around the board.) I'm sure he will add some pictures when he gets back but here are a few I took.

Okay, now that is just INSANE! 2,700???

ZOIKS!

Great pictures GDAD.....Maybe when Ed comes back, he can add to this thread too. Thanks for sharing....

wow jeff those are some amazing photos. i loved them all! i must tell ya i'm jealous that you were two were taking pics together. i would have loved to be in that class!!!!! you guys are so good at it! i bet he was very nice. he seems that way. glad you had fun. looking forward to seeing more of the pics.

Nice shots Jeff. Looking forward to more as well as seeing Ed's.

Great shots Jeff - makes me wish I was there!!

BTW, I noticed on your galleries your shots of CDE. I don't mean to hijack this thread and get way off topic, but I'm heading out to one tomorrow for the first time with a camera. Tomorrow is the "boring" stuff - cones. Sunday is the real run stuff, the marathon. I'm not so worried about Sunday - stuff happens out on the course, but wondering how to "spice up" the dressage part. Any suggestions or tips you can give me?

Jeff, we'll have to do this again so I can get you back. I did not bring any model releases with me, so no Gdad pix from me, THIS time!

Great shots, btw, as per usual. Mine do not compare, but will post a couple when I get back and have a chance to edit mine a little...OK, edit them a LOT!

And, to add my $0.02, Jeff is as nice in person as he is on this board and others where I've seen his comments and photos posted. It was a highlight of my vacation to meet and have the opportunity to shoot with him. I keep hoping some of his considerable skills will rub off on me!

One of the best things about the DIS has been the many, hundreds I suppose, folks from the boards I have met over the years, so many good people.

Great pictures, thanks for sharing the visit. :thumbsup2

The shot of YEKCIM reminds me of someone commenting recently about seeing someone with their lens cap on backwards, not realizing that it's a normal way of storing it. :)

BTW, if anyone's going to be around Anaheim in early September, I'd be up for a small photo meet... I know Master Mason mentioned it earlier, and I had planned to post something once I got some dates nailed down. I have my DL Hotel reservations so hopefully nothing can stop me now! :teeth:

typo.... :confused3 :rotfl2:

BTW, I keep my lens hood on backwards quite a bit. Especially with that same lens Ed has in that Pic, the 70-300mm VR. Thats one heck of a long lens enen without the lens hood. That lens is still pretty easy to zoom with the hood on backwards. My 18-135 doesn't have as much room so I will just take the hood off when I don't need it.

OK, here's "my half" of the shoot. Credit for the inspiration for the last shot goes to Jeff, who posted a similar shot a couple weeks ago:

GYAH! Sorry about that typo. Color me very embarrassed. :sad2:

My new Tamron allows the backwards mounting of the lens hood, but I like to have the option to manual focus often so I probably won't bother with it. I am disappointed that this one doesn't have the cut-out that I'm used to, to allow easy rotating of a circular polarizer or other rotating filter... trying to rotate it with the lens hood on was very difficult. I may need to notch a hole in it manually...

yekcim,

Thanks for the kind comments; I had a ball "shooting" down there, both at Mickey's World and the beach. I wore my "Mickey-Shoe-Yellow" Crocs every day, all day, and they are w/o a doubt, the best shoes for WDW and/or the beach. Go get yourself a pair; you won't regret it!

Actually, even the supporters say "It's a good shoe for going to the beach, kicking around the house, going to the corner market, but they're not made to be worn at Disneyland all day long."

My wife and I got had the biggest fight ever over them because I hate them so much and she wanted a pair, so I'm not exactly unbiased :) but they provide no support at all. Good ol' socks and snug-fitting sneakers are the way to go.

Now back to your regularly scheduled photography talk!

I will agree with you that they are ugly... but have to disagree on the ability to stand up to a day at Disney.. I have become a funtion over form kind of guy for footware, I wear both crocs and birks, two things at one time I swore I would never do. But at the end of a long disney day in either of these, my feet feel fine, but at the end of a day in my good sneakers, my feet and legs hurt.
