Dis 10th Anniversary mention - July 2016

I forgot about the magic bands skins too.
Yes, I REALLY liked the GKTW Magic Band skins. However, since I have no idea when my trip will be, I didn't want to buy one, and have them change the bands, or do something else and I can't use the band. I know I can (and I regularly do) make donations to support GKTW other days/ways, but just sayin'.

I'm getting concerned now. I told my wife we are going for Disney, not just a Dis meet, but what if they do a GKTW event or even *gasp* DATW the same time our BOG ADR is for?

You had better warn her now.

I'm actually more concerned about what we're going to do with our daughter the whole time. I mean she's a big girl and can go off on her own but depending on the event schedule, it might cause some logistical issues since we don't stay onsite.

We are feeling somewhat similar - though my kids are not big enough to go off on their own. We are keeping that Monday open/flexible but if something else cool is set up for Saturday or Sunday we would have to rework things or perhaps just I would do it or something

What I don't want to happen is my wife telling me to go by myself and she'll stay with DD. I don't want her missing out on something.

The one thing I'm waiting to hear about is what Kevin had mentioned last fall. He said there might be a ticketed event that wouldn't be cheap. If there is a pricey event, assuming DW and I could afford it, I probably wouldn't spend the money to bring DD. So for now, we just have to wait until they have everything set up and contracts signed so that they can announce things to us.

We might possibly have to cave and stay onsite. We hate to do that but it would allow DD to come and go independent of us.

Look, if either of you would like to invest in Jes' nanny services, I could come and look after the kidlets for you?!
Steve, I know your DD doesn't need a nanny, but we can just hang out!

For many reasons, I can't be in WDW this summer for the big event. Like @SorcererHeidi mentioned earlier, the heat is a huge one for a Canadian (and for many of my American friends :-)). We have 90 degree plus humidity in Ontario during the summer months but the heat & humidity index are off the charts in Orlando during the summer. The Cdn dollar is also dragging. And for me, my hot summer months mean long weekends to be enjoyed in Ontario at my family cottage at the lake. We can soak up the heat and sun there for nothing more than the price of groceries & gas. We don't travel during the summer because of this. However, I am excited for your event and love the thought of being able to watch the coverage on the DIS. Wishing all the best to the DIS'rs attending! Enjoy & please post all the details for those who can't attend.

Hey, I already told you we'd cover your accommodations. I'm sure Jen would love to hang with you. The only drawback is that she won't be 21 yet.

I think some very expensive ticketed event would be out of our capacity ... or else that becomes an early Christmas gift to myself
;)

Possibly true for us, as well. It depends what "expensive" means. He couldn't tell us any more when he told us that tidbit. They were very early in the planning at that point. This was back in September. If it means Broadway show prices, we could do that. If it means Barbara Streisand concert prices, that would be out of range.
