Directions

Can anyone help? Going to Orlando in 16 days!!! It has occurred to me that I am the navigator(gulp) It will be my responsability to get myself, DH DD1 DD2 DSIL not to mention luggage oh and allocated car from MCO to International Drive!
Any good maps/directions please.

I've think I've got this right! (don't blame me if you get lost though )

Take the 'north' exit from MCO and turn left onto the Beeline express way (528)

Then you can turn right at junction 8 onto the Sandlake Road, which eventually crosses I-Drive. Or keep on the 528 until you reach junction 1 which is the bottom of I-Drive. Turn right onto I-Drive (you will see the Rosen and Peabody hotels and then the big conference centre).

With the first option you will hit one toll booth, the second option you will hit two toll booths.

Remember when you come to an intersection or traffic lights the road sign hanging above the road tells you the road that crosses and not the road you are actually on

Why not just go to Mapquest and print out the directions? It will take you turn by turn from MCO to your hotel.

Thanks Goofyish, the directions you gave are straight forward and easy to follow,so therefore bound to get lost!
I can hear them now.....didn't we just pass that hotel?

Where are you staying on I-Drive Anne?

Directions always seem straight forward until you are sat on the wrong side of the car, on the wrong side of the road and in a strange country - then even the simplest of directions looks complicated LOL

Try looking at Google Maps and Google Earth, you can zoom right in and find your hotel

Have a look at this site it gives directions aswell as pictures but it does take you down toll roads.The tolls won't be to much as you don't have far to go.

It is east to say look at maps etc and I am most organised. But when it came down to the crunch I panicked first time round and we left the 528 incorrectly but onto the Sand Lake as it happens. I would go with Tim, get off for the Sand Lake and head that way, it is nice and straight, a few sets of lights to break that side of in in slowly and it crosses I drive. Remember I Drive is the next road to cross you after Uni Bvld.

If you go the Sandlake Road route then the major roads you cross in order are:

Orange Avenue (527)

Orange Blossom Trail (441) - Florida Mall exit

John Young Parkway (423)

Universal Blvd

Next intersection is I-Drive - if you get to the I-4 you have gone too far
