Heading to VB on Saturday. wahoo... :rotfl: Okay back to my question... whats the best and fastest way to get to VB from MCO? Disney says to take 528 to 95 S, take 512 E to RT1. then take 510 to A1A. Map quest says to take 528 to 95 S. Take 512 E (95th St) turn right onto 90th street (510) go 8.4 miles then turn right onto A1A. Looking at a map, Disney's directions looks like you are going out of the way on 512 and Mapquests looks to be more direct. Anyone know why Disneys doesn't tell you to take 510 to A1A? Not sure if anyone can follow that but any tips on the best route would be appreciated. :dance3:

I would use Disney's directions. Mapquest, while shorter will run through a little 'red neck' speed trap town :car: . If you go with Mapquest, watch your speed.

Skip mapquest. Here are the directions from the DVC site:

From Orlando International Airport (Via I-95 South)

Take the Beeline (528) toll road east to I-95 South.
Follow I-95 South to 512 East - exit 69 (New:156) Sebastian/Fellsmere.
Turn left/east on 512 to US 1 (6.5 miles).
Turn right/south on US 1 to 510 (4.5 miles).
Turn left/east on 510 to A-1-A (2.5 miles).
Turn right on A-1-A.
The resort is immediately on the left. :drive:

Using those directions posted by Doug Wolfe I find that it takes about 1 hour 30 mins driving time tops. I drive a little fast (80 MPH  ) so adjust your time accordingly

Taking RT 510 directly off Rt 512 the first time you see it brings you through a very poor area where the migrant workers live. You will get a view of the sharp contrast between the North Vero Beach area and the poorest section all within about a 3 mile ride. The directions as Disney presents them take you a very short distance out of the way but take you through a nicer area.
Disney's directions take you past the first turn off onto to Rt 512 and into SEbastian and then south on Rt 1. Disney then puts you back on RT 510 after you have bypassed the area I am speaking about. You are correct the DVC directions are not the most direct. They bypass a section of Rt 510. There is not much diference in terms of time either way. Drive them both and draw your own conclusions as to why Disney sends you this way.

The last time we drove to VB, we experimented and took the Beeline to the Cape and caught the A1A there... We then took the A1A south all the way to VB..

The drive was an additonal 40 mins or so, but it was through nice commercial and residential areas, with the occaisional ocean view...

How difficult is it to drive from Sanford Intnl? We thought we might fly in there, with a great fare, and then drive to VB.
