Can anyone provide specific directions from Windsor Palms to the Disney Parks? I know I've seen information about taking Sherbeth Road, but when tried to drive this way last Summer, we just couldn't seem to quite find out way there. We'll be back for Thanksgiving and I'd like to figure it out.

Also, what is the recommended grocery store in the Windsor Palms area? It seems like the closest one was more expensive, but if you drove a bit further, there was one with better prices, but I can't remember what it was called and where to go.

The search is down, or I'd try to find some info on my own, but I'm hoping someone can help!

i just came home on sunday. you're going to love it. to get to the parks: you come out of the plan, turn left. go to the red light, make a right. stay on that road (route 192) for a few miles, the exit is on the right. it only takes you about 15 or 20 minutes from the plan to wdw, animal kingdom, & mgm. parking is $7.00 per day.

for the grocery store: out of the plan, turn left. at the light go right. get in the right lane, look for a publix, there are 2 of them on that road. both are on the right side. one is closer to you, and the other is almost to route 27, just a few miles down. i liked the one that was a bit further. also if you like walmart, make a right at the light, stay on route 192, for about 8 or 10 miles, walmart is there with a grocery store, open 24 hours. it is past a carnival type place. wallgreens is straight thru the light, also open 24 hours. have a great trip, kim

tooyellow313 - Can you clarify directions to the Publix? I assume it's on 192, but do I turn left or right on 192 coming from Windsor Palms? It sounds like you said to turn right, but then you mention heading towards route 27, which I thought was the left, so I'm confused.

Also, the directions you listed to get to the parks does not use the shortcut via Sherbeth road, right? How long of a drive was it using the regular road? I'm wondering if the shortcut is really worth it since it sounds like it's not really intended for guests and isn't marked with directions to the different parks. I'm afraid I'll spend time being lost and having to backtrack if I take the shortcut!

Sherberth Rd runs north off of 192 on to Disney property. It is very close to the maingate mall. It runs into Osceola Parkway on Disney Property. You can turn west on Osceola to go to Animal Kingdom and AKL or east on Osceola to access Buena Vista Dr or World Dr. When you get to WDW buy a Kissimmee/St Cloud map and it is hidden on there. It is a great timesaver when coming from Windsor Palms.
Good Luck

sorry to confuse you, for the publix turn left at the light. there are 2 that i know of on the right side of the road, one is a few miles further than the other, both are at intersections with red lights. (192).

i didn't use any short cuts to the parks, just the main roads. nothing was crowded last week when i was there except sea world and that was a saturday. we never used a fast pass 4 anything. no wait was longer than 15 minutes or so. except for tower of terror.

make sure you see the lion king show at ak, it was fantastic!!!

ask for their free vacation planning guide

they have several maps of the area - one that list hotels - one that list attractions - and I don't remember what the other list..

very handy

this is their visitors bureau - so they really try to kept up with all the changes.
