Directions from I-75

That is a really good idea. If you think Orlando traffic is bad, the northern part of Atlanta during rush hour is murder. We live just south of Atlanta and try to avoid the interstates at all costs in the morning. And we don't have nearly the traffic that comes down out of Marietta. By the way, you may want to check out www.georgia-navigator.com This is the official state transportation website and can be quite helpful in avoiding construction/traffic problems throughout the state.

We live right above Chattanooga so anywhere south we want to go we have to go thru atlanta. We have just learned how to get through it with the least amount of stress.

That adds several hours to the trip. We went that way on our first trip both down and back and it took about 12 hours. Now, we take 280/520 to Albany 82/520, to Tifton to catch 75 and down and now it only take 6 hours or less. I do agree with avoiding Atlanta, but come Birmingham to Columbus, GA and over.

I guess it just depends on whether you make good time on I-75, we have never had a delay of any kind going thru Alabama but always on I-75 there will be construction or a wreck.

Or where you begin.

There has been construction everytime we go down, I believe it is in Valdosta, but we always make great time, much better than I-10.

Actually most of the time, I sleep most of the way, but I do occassionally hers DH screaming at other cars or construction areas.

I have mapquest info for the hampton I was just hoping someone who lives near wdw or FL and is fimilar with the area or anyone who has stayed there might could give me better advice than mapquest.

If you go the Birmingham-Columbus-Albany-Tifton route you may want to consider taking US 19 South in Albany to Monticello, FL and hitting I-10. I used to live in South Georgia and that is the way we would go. US 19 is a good 4 lane road with few stops.
