Direction to go from BWV to Sea World

Can someone give me driving direction to go to Sea World?

I read in the Sea World Board that it is very crowded in the morning between 7 and 10am on I-4 East. Someone said that it will take around 40 minutes to get there. Is this right? Are there other ways to get there?

Stay off I-4. take one of the east-west rds east to International drive and head north on I-drive. I think 535 drops you onto I-drive, and now Oceola parkway has a spur onto it.

yes but it is longer - International Drive - Epcot Center Drive which turns into International Drive 536 - stay on this road - get in the left lane - (may sure you turn left when this road meets 417 - straight is 417 is a tollroad) - when you get to Central Florida Pkwy turn left - Seaworld is on your right - there are signs.

or take the I4 it is the first exit after you leave WDW property.

Which way would you recommend in going? I tried to use mapquest and the Yahoo map (I will definately get a good local map this time when I get to Orlando), but it is hard to follow (never driven around there did not help either )

I have 2 little ones and they really fuss when we sit in traffic. Is it easy to follow directions if I take the 536 route, how much farther (approximately) is it?

Also, do you hit traffic on I-4 in the afternoon going back to BWV (I would assume so, but not sure)?

You can also ask the guys at the valet stand at BWV for directions to seaword , we did for universal and they where more that happy to help us ,but it was a little tough to ask

I know others are trying to help, but if you get onto I-4 East and go about 4-5 miles the exit is right there, very easy. Taking all of the back ways are surely going to get you lost. And coming back will be just as easy. I-4 west back. The signs going to and coming back are very clearly marked. Of course just my personal opinion.

I will go to a bookstore to get a map before we go so that I have a better idea to get my way around.

Keep hoping the weather will be warmer next week.

ask for their vacation guide - this is a magazine. inside the magazine is a map - very detailed and accurate - for anything off site - this is excellent. However it will take about 3 weeks to get to you - but you will have it for your next trip.

this is the kissimmee visitors bureau - they use to only do Kissimmee but lately they have included the International Rd area all they way past Universal.

I have to agree with J--

We just came back and we went to Sea World twice and used I-4 both times with no trouble at all. It probably took us about 20 minutes and that was all the way from VWL. Granted it was slow season, but you are really only on I-4 for such a short time. And it really is well marked.

Definitely...especially if you have kids.

When we went they were running a special where you pay for one day and you can go back one more day within 7 days for free, so we took advantage of it.

I love Sea World and there really is a lot to do. Definitely MAKE SURE YOU SHOW UP EARLY for Cirq de Mer & Clyde and Seymour Take Pirate Island.....they have some pre-show entertainment that is hilarious.

Because the park was so empty we really did almost everything in one day, except (if you can believe this) Shamu! So we did go back a second day and did a lot of things a second time. It was too cold to do the Atlantis ride the first day, so I was glad it was warm enough on the second visit. And I could feed those dolphins and sea lions FOREVER!!!

They have a new restaurant where you can dine beside the shark tank. We didn't but it looked good (although a little pricey).

They are also doing some construction...it looks like they are adding some sort of dolphin experience to the park which makes me wonder what's happening with Discovery Cove.

But I told DBF I don't want to go next year because we ended up spending very little time in EPCOT, simply because we ran out of time.

You would have thought 10 days would be long enough.

SW is one of my favorite places - but I really like their marine life - feeding the dolphins still get me a thrill -

Thanks for the tips. We are the same, we will be there for 7 days this time, 9 days in May, and 10 days in Dec. However, it still feel like there is not much time. We plan to go mid-week next week hoping the park will still be fairly empty. I know we probably will spend a small fortune feeding those animals (my kids would just keep going). We will try to get to the shows early to catch the pre-shows, especially for the ones you mentioned.

I bought their fun cards so that we can have unlimited visits for the rest of the year. That was why I was asking if you would be bored by going there over and over.

Not at all....I was just sad that we missed some stuff in EPCOT that I would have liked to have done because we spent two days at Sea World....then again I met Maistre Gracey, his dw and dear sister at EPCOT, so what more did I NEED to do?

If you want to avoid I-4 there's a much shorter way, and doesn't take you out of the way going southeast to get to I-drive.

When you exit BWV turn right out of the parking lot, go up to the stop light and then turn left toward Downtown Disney. This puts you on Buena Vista.

Follow Buena Vista past Downtown Disney, the road will veer to the right (now that they've redone the intersection there by DD) and take you past all the hotels. This will lead you to Crossroads intersection. Get into the 2nd left lane (lane # 2 if you count lanes left to right) because you'll want to turn left at the intersection.

Turn left at Crossroads, and get into the right hand lane. The next intersection will be Palm Parkway. Turn right onto this road.

Follow Palm Parkway several miles, until I believe the 1st traffic light. Palm Parkway will parallel I-4. The 1st light should be Central Florida Parkway.

At the traffic light make a right turn onto Central Florida Parkway. Then stay in the left hand lane as Sea World will be a short ways on your left.



This route also works for going to Universal Studios. Instead of turning onto Central Florida Parkway, stay on Palm Parkway for about 4-5 more traffic lights. Make a right turn on Universal and then follow that road straight into Universal's parking lot.

We are thinking of going to Discovery Cove in September. Our daughters will celebrate their 10th birthday on the Disney Cruise, and we had thought about doing the dolphin swim at Nassau, but then someone suggested going to Discovery Cove before the cruise instead. So I think we are going to do that.

I am hoping to get in at VWL, not our home resort, but I think we are going to love it there! I am just waiting until Feb. 17th so I can call and try to get reservations. If they don't have them, I may try the waiting list.
