The April prices are awesome out of Worcester, but there are no flights available coming back from Sanford/Orlando (not that it would be a bad thing never to return from vacation..... :thumbsup2 ) Bummer.

Have you checked maybe flying back from FortMyers/Punta Gorda airport or West Palm Beach?

I did check all the FL airports, and the only one that had any flights available back to Worcester was West Palm...which looks to be about 3 hours away from Orlando.

I'm sure the lack of availability is because I'm looking at school vacation week travel.

I priced my trip with Direct air.....4 people RT will be $532 + $120 for bags. Only problem is that the rental car will cost over $500 and the flight gets in a noon....the rental companydoesn't open until 1:30.

Anyone know of any other options to get from Lakeland to WDW? I could rent a car after I get to WDW.

Would you be able to rent a car from one of the car rental agencies that pick you up? Maybe they could pick you up at the airport.

We just flew to Lakeland and back a few weeks ago and rented from Hertz. The Hertz place has said they directly mirror the flights coming into the airport. This may not be reflected in their website, but I would call the Hertz location in Lakeland directly. We just left our keys in a dropbox when we returned on our flight back.

I was really excited about this, as they do have open flights this July from Pitt. to Lakeland. But the rental car prices shut that idea down quickly! I tried EVERYTHING I could think of, off-site car rentals, etc. but the prices were :scared1: Guess we're still driving...

Good to know.....I'm going to go through it all again but after we talked about it we both are leaning towards paying a little more and flying with SW. I'm just not 100% comfortable booking with such a small airline. We are travelling to my DD's national finals and we can't have any hiccups getting there. If it were strictly a vacation the time would be our own and I wouldn't really care if we were somehow delayed.

We are scheduled to fly Direct Air in April into Lakeland. Apparently Hertz sets there schedule around the arriving and departing flights but it doesn't say that on the web site. It will come back that its closed, but its not!
We are using those family ties tickets that someone sold me as they couldn't use them, and my only beef is their customer service. I have had to call several times and the wait time is 40 minutes plus and out of talking to six different agents, four were rude, two extremely unprofessional. Their reviews are terrible on line. Just hope it works out for us.:goodvibes
