Direct TV internet provider?

Does anyone have their internet thru Direct TV? Are you happy with it?

I don't have it personally (I have DirecTV, just not their internet), but I've never heard a single good thing about it.

I have Direcway. It was my only option besides dial up. Definately better than dial up. I have lots of issues with it though. When it rains, I loose service. When it snows, I loose servicel. Sometimes, when it is extra cloudy, I loose service. I did manage to get them to change my transponder (after MANY MANY complaints) and that did help with some of the issues. I would switch to cable or DSL in a heartbeat if I had the chance.
Do you have any other option?

There is another satelite internet out there, but I haven't heard much about it yet. Go to www. dslreports.com and you can read some stuff about satelite access.

Thank You for the info. We have dial up now & cannot get cable where we live. We already have directv so thought of going with them. We are now paying for dial up plus pay $44 a month for our basic phone service & only use our home phone for internet. We use our cell phones for all of our phone calls, . We cannot get a cheaper phone service here.

We figured we are already paying as much as high speed with the cost of phone & internet so we might as well just cancel our home phone and get faster internet service.

I have Direcway and HATE it. Unfortunately, we do not have the option of choosing cable or DSL...UGH!!! Whenever we have technical issues, it takes forever to get things straightened out. They love to give the runaround! JMHO.

Thanks for all the info everyone. Maybe i'd be better off just keeping dial up.
