Direct SSR 25 Point Add-on for $99 a point

Wanted to let you guys know i was able to add on 25 points at SSR today direct through Disney for $99 a point. A special lower price for add-on. I also am getting 2010 points because of my use year, so it ended up being close or equal to the small resales I was looking at (and kept on losing out on because somebody beat me to the punch on the small resales!).

I'm curious though... I asked my guide about a 40 point SSR add on just this past Sunday and was quoted $120/point. Do you know if this is a new rate or short term special or anything?

We didn't buy - I think we're going to hold out for a larger resale, but I'm still bothered by the different rate I was given - unless there's been some recent change.

I've bought my last two contracts resale, but I only needed 25 more so it made sense to do it through Disney with this new offer since I don't have to pay closing (not to mention it's like looking for a needle in a haystack on a small contract that matches my use year).

This bumps me up to an even 200. So we can will 100 points to each daughter. (nice and even).

Oh, forgot to add you can put it on your Disney Visa for six months with 0 percent interest, too.

Do you know how long this special will be in effect - and does it apply to add-ons at other DVC resorts? I just became a DVC member and I'm interested in buying a small add-on at BWV (not my home resort). $99 ppt is a great price for a direct buy!

I'm not sure how long Disney is running the $99 price. The only two resorts I asked about were SSR and OKW. Maybe someone else will know and chime in.

OKW was $90 a point for add-ons. The inventory was low, though.

I think you should wait for a larger resale. We did a small 50 pt add on last year resale, and now we're looking again. I kinda wish we waited for a larger resale add on since the price (at least for resale) is lower per point for a larger add on...

But that $99 direct is really attractive!

Wow. Bought in direct back in June, for 100 pts @ $90/point at SSR. (I know it wasn't resale, but there were "comfort issues" as well as financing at play with DW) It's not like I was even holding out for a good price, but I guess I'm glad that I bought then...

Wow....I just caught myself. I was going to bring up the fact that smaller contracts are easier to resale. I would most likely assume this would still be the same. We will see!

Wow! I am shocked that SS is so high too. We bought VWL direct in April for I think $90 a point- maybe it was $100. $120 for SS seems really high. I am curious what some of the other "sold out" resorts are going for direct now.

Typically prices for <50 pts are super high, regardless of resort. $99 is not bad at all.

Ok, that makes sense. I didn't realize that points prices changed based on the number you are buying if you bouight direct. I thought it was one price no matter if you buy 50 or 200.
