Direct purchase- Notary done virtually!!

Most states now allow you to notarize online. The one big hold out is the most populous state - CA, my siblings & I recently had to notarize some documents for my mom’s estate in CA & it had to be in person, what a hassle! Per a National notary organization the states in green allow remote online notarization.

I wonder if those who’ve bought VDH & financed had to notarize in person?

If you’re purchasing direct, the cool down period of 10 days, is that before or after the notary signing? We had an unexpected change in circumstances basically overnight but just signed off with the notary last Tuesday so we are freaking out a little.

I believe it is 10 days after notarization, being that the contract includes financing & notarization so the deal wouldn’t be considered fully signed without it. I did mine today but signed on 9/14, so almost 2 weeks after initial signing. I also thought I’d read another post stating the same. Either way, call your guide asap and see if they can help

I’m in CA & notarized my docs today but with a FL notary.

Was that for VDH, which I assume would follow California’s statutes or for VGF/Riv, which likely would allow online notarization since Florida allows it.
