Direct points closing time

I have an interesting situation. We have been gifted my mother in law’s OKW points and they have an April UY. The deed was recorded in the beginning of March and had not been added to our account yet. In the meantime we bought at RIV two weeks ago also with an April UY so those points can work together at 7 months since we already have a lot of points in our Feb UY.
I emailed members admin because it’s been over 30 days and the OKW has not shown up in our April UY yet. I was just told by DVC MA that they found all the information regarding the OKW transfer but they cannot complete it and add it to my account until the RIV points are no longer in hold status and reach closed status.

For those that bought direct do you know how long this took to reach closed status?
I have spread the RIV purchase out over three payments for 90 days. Will we not close until the payments are completed? If so I will arrange to pay it off sooner so my OKW points aren’t in limbo until then.

It took us about 3 to 4 weeks if I remember correctly. You will know it has closed when you login to your account and your dues are due (we also got an email asking us to setup Auto Pay which triggered my login to check).

I just wanted to give a quick update after a few phone calls I made this afternoon. I called my guide and explained the situation and she gave me the number for quality assurance. After speaking with the QA team member I was informed that they can’t add the OKW until the RIV is closed and that it only gets closed when it’s totally paid off. The reason for this is that since RIV is a new contract and is in first position as the initial contract they can’t add the OKW until it’s guaranteed as my contract because if I don’t pay for it it will be taken back. So my only option is to wait until it’s paid off. I originally had it set up to go to my Disney visa in three 1/3 separate payments over 90 days. Instead I have accelerated it so it will be paid off by next Monday breaking up the cc charges a week apart so I can throw money at the cc to free up available credit. I will still keep a portion of it with the no interest for 6 months on the Disney visa.
