Direct Only Booking Website

I missed another booking. I have multiple contracts. What am I supposed to do? Borrow from all of them proactively when they’ve been clear there is no unborrowing? WHERE IS THE FIX?
Call MS and ask to speak with a manager. Are you trying modify and book at the same time or just make a reservation?
 
That is a lie that it is because it is resale points. It is an error in the system. I usually do not borrow points, have a mix of resale and direct points. I borrowed from my contract and use year that only has resale points - my last add on in 2018. Had zero problems with that. I have had multiple glitches in the system, one of which being I had to call to reserve my room in the 11 month window using a mix of direct and resale points not even borrowing points- neither the direct nor resale points would allow me to book. I had to call MS to reserve the room. There are glitches in the system, when IT fixes one problem they create 10 others.

What's a lie?? I don't think anyone stated anything as fact. Nobody is lying to you. We are just postulating some theories in case someone finds them helpful.

Sorry I meant to say that you were lied to by MS if they told you your problems were because of resale points. I did not mean for it to sound like you were lying. I apologize for the miscommunication.

Both MS and the manager line said this is a known issue with resale points. So, I don't consider this to be a stretch.

Obviously it isn't all resale points, but it is a known resale issue.
 
I said I didn't think it was fair that direct gets a special website to book ahead of resale points, because reservations are supposed to be first come, first served -- not first come, first served if you are booking with direct points. It isn't fair to create new rules because DVC can't make a working website.
I am confused...I am a direct owner, since 2002, what do you mean we have a special website? Do resale owners not have the DVCmember website to book?

I believe that was a facetious comment suggesting that Disney is deliberately allowing the problem to persist and, in essence, providing a website that "only" works without error for direct contract owners, while the website proves useless to resale owners who must call MS to borrow points.

When I originally bought my first contract, which was direct from DVC, the sales rep told me about the website for booking reservations. He said it was for "all DVC members" (he did the air quote hand sign and winked when he said all). Didn't your sales rep do that when you bought?

I’ll also add there was thread here where someone who was resale was incorrectly told by cast member that the website was direct member benefit when they had to call in due to this resale borrowing issue.
 
Interesting as a resale owner that before "the update" my account worked fine.

The DVC website has been having issues lately.

A few weeks ago It lost my log in info and though I was a new member again,
I have been in the middle of booking reservation and had it lock up,
I have been able to log in and plan a vacation, but when it come to booking I get stitch poops up and tells me something went wrong.

It is not just resale it is just a website site thing.

The wait times are to talk to MS those are just the fact Disney cant hire people back. The white house is paying those workers that were laid off more not to go back to work than the mouse can pay them to go back to work.
 
Just missed my booking because I couldn't borrow one stinking point on the website. I am so frustrated right now. FIX THE WEBSITE BILL.
 
I likewise ran into the borrowing bug for the first time last week, and I have a mix of resale and direct and multiple contracts across multiple home resorts. I'm going to send this to Disney to see if it helps with troubleshooting, but my experience was:

1. I modified an existing reservation (at BLT) within 7 month window, and borrowed points from 2 resale contracts (SSR). This went through fine, and the points were borrowed.
2. I went into the same reservation again to modify it AGAIN, and those 2 resale contracts showed that I could borrow the full 50% amount, despite the fact that I borrowed already from them. If I tried to borrow ANYTHING when modifying this reservation, I got the 7 dwarves. I tried a good 20 times; no go.
3. I tried to create a NEW reservation using one of the 2 resale contracts I had already borrowed with, keeping it under 50%. No luck. Always 7 dwarves. This was a reservation within 7 months, borrowing from a resale contract that was a different home resort (SSR) than the resort of the reservation (VBR)
4. I then went in to modify an existing reservation (CCV) within the 11 month priority window to borrow points from 3 different CCV resale contracts, and was able to do so without issue.

Now, I still had to call in, because I was shuffling points around and wanted to borrow as much as possible from my SSR contracts so I was borrowing as little as possible from CCV, but these are my data points.

It seems to me that something happened when borrowing from SSR where the contracts did not get marked correctly as having been borrowed against, and whatever that is, is preventing those contracts to be used for borrowing now. It also possible if trying to borrow points from a contract that doesn't match the resort of the reservation it errors, even if I'm within the 7 month window - perhaps there is some bug in the logic for checking for borrowing restrictions that they would have needed to implement for RIVIERA resale contracts, and it is affecting ANY resale that meets a certain criteria?
