I had a very interesting conversation with the manager line. They are aware that resale contracts aren't able to borrow, even when they are nowhere near the 50% rule. They are aware that inventory is getting released early in the morning. They are aware of the nightmare with MS it takes to borrow a few points. They don't have a solution to these issues and offered to fix my one specific booking issue. They kept blaming the website and the 50% rule and said they are working on it and didn't know when the 50% rule will change. They're not changing the borrowing rules. They have no workaround. Too bad, so sad.
I said I didn't think it was fair that direct gets a special website to book ahead of resale points, because reservations are supposed to be first come, first served -- not first come, first served if you are booking with direct points. It isn't fair to create new rules because DVC can't make a working website.
I signed up to be treated second class. I didn't sign up for my points to be second class, because that isn't the rules. You can't create new rules and lock resale down for no reason because you can't do your job. This policy is targeting resale, and it's in direct violation of the rules.
Even if you're all direct points, you shouldn't want your management running like this. If nothing else, all this time on the phone is a giant waste of everyone dues and time and decreases everyone's service. We deserve better than these sketchy timeshare shenanigans, which I didn't expect from Disney. Who is management working for? Whose interests are they serving right now?
