Direct Incentives after 3/1

I do see an offer of free luggage for new member purchases, if that tips the scale for anyone 😂
Yes, DVC luggage for add-ones too!! And you only have to add on 50 points at RIV, VGF or AUL! I told DH it was too bad we don’t have $11K laying around (JK).

This is the fine print from the email we just got:

*Estimated retail value of travel set is $209. Limit one (1) per Membership. Offer begins March 2, 2023, and is available on first 750 Memberships that qualify. To be eligible, Members must add on an ownership interest with at least 50 Vacation Points in The Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney’s Rivera Resort, or AULANI, Disney Vacation Club Villas, Ko Olina, Hawaiʻi. Must be a current Disney Vacation Club Member and a legal resident of the United States or Canada to be eligible for this offer. Luggage will be shipped within 45 days of purchase and may take up to 30 days from date of shipping to arrive. Offer may be extended, modified, or withdrawn at any time without notice. Void where prohibited. Additional restrictions and terms may apply.

Ah-ha! So that’s why the fine print says one set per membership - although I guess you got one set for each of your memberships at that time? :p

I definitely think they have a different mindset when it comes to sales then some of us here do.

These incentives support that they are pretty okay with what is currently happening and in no rush…but, you also wonder if this is why nothing has been announced for VDH and possibly we will see the sales of Poly tower pushed back a bit.

They probably have enough to weather the storm with softer sales. VGF continues to have slightly better incentives so must also be okay with mix of sales at both resorts.
I think a one year delay at a minimum for PVB.

Agree this board probably worries 10x more than Disney does about market conditions.

I was told specifically I would not but it seems because I added on points in my Dec UY, and got new points in a June UY...which were two different memberships...they sent me two of them...the second set didn't arrive until like July and I was shocked!

As beautiful as Aulani is Disney would have been better off making a DVC in Disney Paris. That would have sold out quick.
Don't rule out the Marriott there. It is often available for a very inexpensive getaway in the shoulder/offseasons. For example, right now there is a mid-May check in. I think DVC Members are automatically Gold members, so you'd pay the milddle price ($572 + taxes). That's for a full week in a 2BR.

Marriott's Village d'Ile de France
Bailly Romainvilliers , FRANCE
MVF

May 12 2023 - May 19 2023
Unit 2 6 6
$597.00 $572.00 $547.00

You can also do this resort as an exchange for more advance notice, but that might be spendy for DVC points. The TDI of that May week is 140, and it is an Elite resort, so a 2BR would be 260 points. I'd rather take my chances on flights.

“DVC members are automatically Gold members”?

Interval has tiered membership---basic, gold, and platinum. Gold and Platinum members get a modest discount on getaway pricing (among other perks), which is why there are three prices there. I am a basic member, so I'd pay $597 + taxes. (I don't take enough getaways to make the upgrade make sense). DVC Members are comped Gold status, so they pay the middle price. I'm fairly sure an individual DVC Member can't further upgrade to Platinum because they have a corporate not personal account, but I could be wrong about that.

From the DVC II Disclosure Guide:

DVCM maintains a corporate membership in the Exchange
Program, and each DVC Member derives II membership
benefits and exchange privileges through such corporate
membership. DVCM registers each DVC Member in the
Exchange Program on an annual basis during the term of the
agreement and also provides each DVC Member with a one-
year participation in the Interval Gold membership program.
