Is there a direct bus between AK and DTD? If not, where is the best place to change buses?

Nope. There are no buses between any of the parks and DTD. A couple of strategies for making that trip would be to just catch the first bus to one of the resorts close to DTD and transfer there, to take the AKL bus and transfer there, or take the SSR bus to the Congress Park stop and walk to DTD along the path near there.

No, there is not.

Your best choice is a bus to Saratoga Springs, get off at the Congress Park stop, then walk to DTD.

Your next best option would be to take a bus to Pop Century, then transfer to a DTD bus.

Thanks to all! I'm trying to plan out our upcoming trip. We are planning to be in AK that day, and have a 5:00pm reservation at T Rex. I'm trying to get a feel for when we should leave AK. I think that we are probably safe if we leave before 3:00pm. Any opinions?

AK to Saratoga Springs is fastest, if you don't mind walking from the Congress Park station to DTD. It's about a half mile walk to the Rainforest Cafe area; T-Rex might be 1/4 mile farther. Allow 50 minutes + walking time.

AKL is probably your best transfer point in the afternoon if you don't want to walk. Although it's slightly longer than some other routes, you'll avoid stopping at BB on the way, and there are no intermediate resort stops (you'll transfer at the Kidani Village stop at AKL, which is the first stop out of AK and the last stop for the DTD bus.) Allow 90 minutes if the weather is nice. If it looks like rain, the DTD buses may get delayed by a TL rain exit, so allow 20 minutes more. 3:00 should be plenty safe.

At DTD, there are 2 stops: Marketplace and Pleasure Island. PI is a little bit closer to T-Rex, but the walk is across a big parking lot, and it takes 5-10 minutes longer for the bus to get there. It's probably just as fast to get off at Marketplace, and enjoy the walk through the heart of the shops.

Thanks for the information. As there is no secret warp tunnel between AK and DTD, there is no getting around the fact that it is a long bus ride. Happily, my kids are still of of an age where they think that the Disney buses are pretty exciting and our family is in WDW together; it's all good.
