Anyone out there got any feedback for me on this ride. I am just trying to decide if it will be suitable for my DD6. I know all children are different , but I just thought if a few people described their experiences I would be able to make up my mind for her. Thanks for all the help :earsgirl: Just less than two months to go whoo hoo :cool1:

It is a very intense ride! Alot of darkness and surprises. It scares me time after time. If they are 6 I wouldn't. Just my opinion. I brought my 61 yr old Dad on it in Dec.. We apoligized to him after, because it was so intense! If they don't like the dark than NO WAY!!!

hi there,

I have been on it twice, now this was 2 years ago, but I am pretty sure nothing has changed. But its a good ride, its bumpy and really fast, nothing like test track or anything close to it, but its like a stop and go ride. :moped: now I dont remember too much but I remember we were originally looking for a dinosaur and than we ended up being chased by it. All in all, I loved it.
for a 6 year old, they might be a little scared of the dinosaur in the end, but its so fast that I dont think they will have time to think about it. :confused3

I hope this helps a little and if I am off on any details or if anybody else can help out, please do, I need to remember because I am going on it again in just over a month lol. :earsboy: :cool1:

thanks,

Dani

Like I said before, it is dark for most of the ride! You are searching for a dinosaur, but it is dark and intense! So intense that they actually take a picture of you when a dinosaur jumps out of the dark! I've been on it multiple of times, and I'm 34 and still get scared from the darkness!

Ok, first time I rode it I was terrified. This past january, I went on with DS3 and DD5 against my better judgement (daddy had already said yes :guilty: ) There was no tears, just shocked faces, with a lot of hiding in my arm. They did not ask to go again, which is what they would do if they had truly enjoyed an attraction. These are kids who will ride TOT repeatedly, so they are not scaredy cats by any means. IMHO, this should probably wait till they are 9 or 10.

Hope this helps,
Claire xx

As said, it's very bumpy and jarring, and there isn't any time to process what's going on. The ride always seemed rather rushed to me, as if they were trying to get as many people through as fast as they can.

It's like riding a very jerky haunted house ride - things pop out at you, big, mouth opened, toothy dinosaurs glare down at you from the dark, and it gets really loud. There are two very intense moments, where in the past, I've closed my eyes. This year, I finally kept them open!

It's designed to scare you.

Dinosaur IS a great ride. However, like the other posters mentioned, it is quite bumpy and dark. It might be a little intense for a 6 yr old, IMO. My DS was 7 the first time he went on it and he was scared out of his wits, even though we explained to him in advance what to expect.

As others have said, it's dark, very bumpy and jerky and the dinosaurs are scary. Your child should understand the difference between real and make-believe so Dinosaur isn't too scary and I think at 6 you wouldn't want to be stressing this message. These dinos are not the loveable ones from Land After Time or others that younger kids are familiar with.

My 6 year old DD rode it last year and enjoyed most of it until the "tense" sections. She was rather scared but simply sunk down in the seat between us. After it was over she was still a bit shaken but didn't regret it. She still talks about it and plans to ride this year. I would simply recommend that your child be placed between two adults in the back seat and you inform them that some parts are scary but fun!

dinosour is a cool ride...we rode it last year and there was a bunch of around 6 or 7 riding it with us..when the ride was over they seemed to have loved it..little intense but not really that bad...have fun  ...pop century in 13 days :Pinkbounc

It is dark bumpy and scary.

But my son (who is really in to dinos) loved it when he was 3 last September, and keeps talking about it re our upcoming return visit.

Do your kids watch the Disney CGI movie "Dinosaur"? The "bad" dino in the ride is a Carnotaur like in the movie, who keeps popping up and bearing his teeth.

We just returned 08/13/05. I had rode this ride years ago and hated it so I sat inside the store area where you view the pictures of yourself on the ride and watched the people coming out. I did see many kids ages 4-8 coming off the ride crying. I even saw a girl about 10 or so coming off crying. Some were hysterical I guess they just didnt know what to expect.

My DD is 11 and she rode it - did not like it much but did not cry. Now you have to understand she loves rides like ToT, Mission:Space, RnR, The Hulk at Universal, but did not really care for this. Said she didnt like how it jerked her around. I am glad I did not ride it this time. As I get older (I am 38) I just cant seem to tolerate the jerking of some of the rides.

I would be hesitant to take a child under 7 on this ride unless they are a thrill ride type of kid. Save this one for when they are a little older.

My ds 11 went on this in Feb. He will not go on it again lol But my ds 8 went on this as well & cannot wait to ride it again. Me I have not if decided if I want to ride it at all :confused3

I was so scared of that ride afte rhearing what everyone had to say about it that by the time I rode it I was thinking, "That was it?!?!" I didn't find it scary at all. Maybe a 6 year old would, but I thought it was NOTHING compared to what I heard it was going to be like. :flower:

OK - First thing I want everyone to know is that two years ago if you were on the Dino ride with a sobbing 5 yo - I am sorry and I did NOT make her ride it. That said, DH and I had read up on the ride, described it to DD and she wanted to ride it. DD is not a timid child, she loves HM, and she's thrilled she's tall enough to ride roller coasters now - can't wait for TT. But Dino was much too intense, rough, dark and VERY loud; by the end of the ride when they take your pic all you could see was me bent over DD and DH bent over both of us - try to insulate her as much as possible. She was crying by the time we got off it, but calmed down pretty quick in the gift shop (she is her momma's girl), when it was time to shop.

You should ride it first and decide for yourself. I rode it in May with DS 9 and refused to let DS 6 ride it. Too intense IMO. But DS8 got right back on with dad. I'll never ride it again. It scared me and ruined my back for the rest of our trip (never had back problems before riding this ride.) Most rides I'd feel comfortable giving advice as whether to ride or not, but for this ride (as well as Mission Space) I say, ride it first and make an informed decision.

Y'all know what this ride reminds me of movement wise??? A mechanical bull!!!! I was just thinking about that. I love it! :cool1:

I am shocked so many people have said their children were so scared (esp. the one who said their child rides TOT but is scared of Dinosaur????) My DS 6 and DS 11 went on at least 5 or 6 times last year and they are not the bravest of children. They understand the dinos are not real and it is just a ride. It is dark and a bit intense but a lot of fun. I think most kids get a little scared but it seems to be a fun and excited scared. But that is just my opinion. :confused3

Thank you all for your opinions it has really helped me decide. I will go on it first, I think by the sounds of it , it will scare my DH lol ! never mind my DD6.
