Hi,

We will be at WDW the first week of Aug. and we have been there before but have never riden the Dino. ride at the AK. I heard that it is an intense ride. My question is, is it also a roller coaster? Like with big hills?

Thanks for any help! We can not wait to go.

nope- not a roller coaster.

it's a bit of a bumpy ride, you get jostled from side to side...stuff jumps out at you...but definetly not a roller coaster.

If you have ever been to Universal Studios and rode the Spider Man ride, Dino is much the same, (however we really like Spider Man best!!). It is more like a motion simulator on wheels. There are a few small dips, but definately not a roller coaster type hill. The ride is very "jerky"!!

If you have little one in tow I would probably skip this ride. It is alittle intense and very LOUD!!! If there are no little ones along with you, give it a shot!!!

I've also never been on this ride - is it any worse than the Safari ride at AK (as far as "bumpy" and "jerky")?

Yes, much worse than the safari ride! I really didn't like dino ride! I did it once but it's on my never again list.:D

My DH took our DD's on the Dino ride, he said it just about blew his ear drums out :headache: The girls liked it :Pinkbounc and they are a bit chicken, but they agreed it was loud and bumpy and a little scary... The Travel Channel show last night explained it as "sensory overload" a lot to hear, see, and feel all at once. HTH

We did this ride once and it is bumpy and you get jerked around - not the kind of experience we are looking for. Kids are not interested in doing it again.

This ride is very bumpy and very loud. We like to look at all the pictures at the end of the ride with the look of shock on people's faces and some with their heads buried. Our 7yo went on it last week and really like it.

VERY jerky and loud. Actually, I closed my eyes through just about all of it, so I just remember the noise and movement =) My husband, a thrill seeker who was slightly disappointed there were no huge coasters at Disney, was quite happy with this ride. I just held on and closed my eyes, LOL!
