Dinosaur - how scary is it?

We did not allow our DS4 to ride on it last summer even though he was tall enough and wanted to ride. It was our first time so DH "previewed" the ride himself and decided that it was the LOUDNESS of it that would bother our DS. DS went on everything else he was tall enough for (Splash, Star Tours, etc.) and loved all that but DH felt Dinosaur was just too loud for a small child.

We give the kids the "speech" several times a day. DD is VERY easily frightened (won't even go into Muppets 3D) and she's almost 6! (She's got sensory issues and is just too sensitive to all the darkness/noise/stimulation).

But, we remind them from the second we walk through the gate, that it's ALL Mickey Magic!! :) The kids know that now, and will even say "Dont' worry, <insert sibling name> - it's just Mickey Magic" :)

I have never been on the Dinosaur ride before. When you guys mean bumpy and jerky, does it feel like you're in the body war ride? I don't like to be shaken up that hard that you get a whiplash. I like to enjoy the ride, but not to where I get a big headache and my muscles ache from being thrown around. Thanks!

Well, when I saw tons of 10-year-old girls riding it, I had my answer! A very squealy ride, all of the girls had a grand time on it. Me, too, and I'm definitely NOT 10 years old!

Its not a roller coaster at all. The scary part is the realistic dinosaurs. I was really scared when I was about 11. But I did enjoy it anyways.

This ride used to be a lot more shaky when it first opened. This ride is definetly loud, my friend went on it and plugged his ears the whole time. I wouldn't call this ride all that scary, it would be cooler if it went faster. As for the dinosaurs, after the second time, you know where they are and they don't suprise you that much.

Well, I had my eyes closed almost the whole entire ride the first time I rode it. BUT I got off with a huge smile on my face because if I ride can make me that scared it has to be good. I went on it again and again. Not so scary the second time around. But I can be wimpy.

We rode this ride b4, but for some reason I can't remember it. I remember the jerking and some loud noises and light flashes, but that's it. Can someone plese pm me and tell me the ending tha everyone is refering to? My DD3 would like to ride, but I don't remember anything at the end and I don't wanna put her on without knowing what it is. Thanks

Dinosaur is the only ride at WDW that scares the pants off of me. I am terrified of this ride and I KNOW it's just stupid, robotic dinosaurs. LOL. I don't know why but I can't ride this. I've tried twice and the second time was worse than the first. When the car stops and the dinosaurs are ROARING, I just want to unbuckle and RUN RIGHT OUT OF THE BUILDING!!!! The second time that I rode it, I kept my eyes squeezed shut the ENTIRE ride. I HATED IT!!! Space Mtn scares me a bit too but I will ride that one again and again but NO WAY TO DINOSAUR!!!!

OK, I just dug out the picture from our January trip. My 13 y.o. DD is screaming her head off and my 9 & 5 y.o. DSs are hiding w/their heads buried. I guess our family would say it's VERY SCARY.

We all loved this ride! I wouldn't necessarily call it "scary" but It's VERY rough, loud and dark. This is a ride where you should definitely heed the warnings, especially if you have back and neck problems. This is my one of my DS9's favorite rides, along with BTMRR, and Primhieval Whirl.

This is a ride I have gone on about 6 times with my family--I still ahve yet to see it since the sensations combined with the loud noise really scares the bejeebers out of me. I have tried in vain to open my eyes and look--it just frightens me too much. I'm the one in the picture that is always with my hand over my eyes, or my head down with my hands over it or just holding on for dear life with eyes tightly closed. It is my picture that everyone comes out of the ride and points to and laughs! I don't know why but it is too much for me!

Yes it is very jerky like bodywars but in segments.
